Can't remember the names, but this was the twin accused of killing his brother. Oh - Dennis and Darris...Lewis, I think it was. I missed the verdict - what happened?
Also I missed the sentence for the man accused of killing Denise Lee. Did he get death or life?
Thanks for responding.

Darris was cleared in the death of his brother Dennis, his record expunged.
They never tested the evidence, claimed it was a bloody palm print left at the scene.
No blood, case dismissed. Darris Lewis lost 18 months of his life, his senior year of high school, a scholarship to college because the police never bothered to test the evidence they claimed was blood even though there were 5 witnesses that put him miles away at the time of the killing.

Derris Lewis always knew his name would be cleared, and now he'd like an apology after being locked up for 18 months. He wants to get on with his life and go to college, but more than anything he wants police to find his twin's killer. If they don't, he says, he will.

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O'Brien dropped charges Friday against Derris Lewis after testing showed that a palm print of the teen, found on the wall of the family's North Linden home, was not in his brother's blood.
Dennis Lewis was shot and killed in his bedroom on Jan. 18, 2008, two weeks shy of his 18th birthday. His mother said five men wearing masks and demanding money broke into the Loretta Avenue house, killing Dennis during a struggle.
Witnesses testified in court that Derris Lewis was at his girlfriend's home at the time.
The prosecutor's office tested the palm print last week, which led O'Brien to dismiss the case. O'Brien said there was no other evidence linking Derris Lewis to his brother's death, and he said he believes the 19-year-old is innocent.
In her letter, Tavares said the Lewis family has suffered "traumatic and immeasurable losses" because of Dennis' murder and Derris' imprisonment on false charges.
"Derris Lewis has missed out on his senior year of high school, graduation and college scholarship opportunities," she wrote. "A mother has lost one son and the freedom of another for 18 months."
City is expected to settle with the family. Settlement will exceed $20K, if it goes to civil court it could go well over $70K.

City Attorney Richard C. Pfeiffer Jr. refused to say why the city is seeking a settlement in advance of a lawsuit.
Contacted last night, Mayor Coleman said he decided the city should settle soon after being briefed on the circumstances and facts in the case.
"The fact of the matter is we made a mistake. It's been acknowledged. We're putting in place procedures to make sure that this mistake is never made again, and the rest of it is between the parties," Coleman said. "You know, if you make a mistake and you know you've made a mistake, you have to do something about it."
