Timing is everything and the timing of Obama's Health Care Reform bill could not be more ill-timed; the economy remains unstable; people are losing their jobs and their homes; they are frightened and angry and here comes Obama hammering in speech after speech about his reform bill. He has only been president for 9 months and has not built up any crediblity or trust among the American people; He should have waited for the economy to stabilize a bit; perhaps in a year or two, when hopefully the economy stabilizes and people began to trust him, he could have broached this issue; This is not the time.

I have a feeling he thought he could reform health insurance before people got wise to his lack of credibility. Now or never much like Bill Clinton. imo

I don't know. I think the whole idea of reform would be acceptable now if the Democrats didn't try to overreach and all of them would stop their misrepresentations. The people aren't stupid and they can see the problems and they realize the numbers do not make sense.

But you are right. Now that it has been made clear just how much this is going to cost some people, it just goes to show how misleading these people can be. The ones who are going to get stuck with the bill are the ones who have been paying all along. Now they are again going to have to foot the bill for something that will do very little to benefit anyone.

It definitely was a race to try to shove all of this nonsense through. It was probably a combination of his lack of credibility as well as the lack of any benefits being derived by this overspending that has them rushing to push through all of their initiatives.
