I'm shocked. I had the Today Show on, I have seen nothing so far about 9/11. Fox is acknowledging the day and CNN. As I heard a newscaster say some are saying we should move on, I guess maybe that is what some stations are doing???? This isn't over, moving on..tell that to the soldiers that are in Afghanistan today,...I have a brother in Afghanistan, he has been in Iraq also..a nephew that has served two tours so far..they aren't there because America is moving on this is still on going. I'm not going to turn my face and try to forget because it has been 8 years.
I don't know about any of you but when I see and listened to the replay of one of the towers falling, the chills came over me...just goes to show the impact of watching it all that day. We witnessed the deaths and tragedy maybe we weren't there running from the smoke and debris but in our minds we were running along with them.

I hope every one will take a few minutes and REMEMBER 9/11. And ask yourself where would you rather be living than in the USA and say a prayer for our service men, women, and children.

You are so right, Kennedy. I'm in Canada and I remember we all gathered in our conference room at work to watch the coverage. When we saw the second plane crash into the building, we all screamed. Many of us sobbing and holding each other. I was shaking like a leaf. I'll never forget that day as long as I live. I was miles away but it felt like I was there running along with them.
Even today, I have a heavy heart and tears. God help us all and save us from this ever happening again.
Prayers to all the victims and a special thanks to the brave men and women who risked their lives. :rose:

We watched stunned in disbelief that our nation was being attacked.
Many watched as a second plane hit the second tower, many not believing their own eyes.
Terror struck many on the East Coast. Would there be anymore planes diving into buildings? Killing innocent people. OMG!! A plane was spotted in the Phialdelphia area, flying low. Oh sweet jesus, my son ! Will they strike his building?
No, I will never forget the fear I felt that day for our nation, for our families and for the victims of that day. I will never forget the pain that we saw in so many faces, the heros that fell that day.
God Bless Our Troops, Police and Firemen. They give their all each and every day.

I will never forget that day as i sat and watched..
the billowy, dense clouds that carried screams to the heavens
The stench of melted and burnt flesh.
the shock and horror of seeing innocent people
jump to their deaths...
The loved ones of others taking their last breaths..
Their children now cry.
wives, mothers and fathers too
never being able to say I Love You and Goodbye
the world changed on this day..
for loss and grief of our
innocence went away..
No, i most certainly never ever
forget this day..patricia...9/11/09

A day when Americans stood side by side in shock, disbelief & determination. When political lines dissolved & Americans worked together to pray, rescue survivors & start to rebuild. A day that will never be forgotten.

*******************************************
As is my want, I woke up this morning with MSNBC on bedroom TV. The same as on '01. Fuzzy background audio of 1st tower attacked.
I cleared the cobwebs from brain and sat on the side of the bed, watching the 2nd plane, same as '01.
Unbelievable.
Watching the ensuing coverage I was reminded of Tim Russert and his reporting and Ashley Banfield, covered in 9/11 dust. Didn't remember their 9/11 reporting until today.

My memories of that day are of an online Aussie friend coming on and messaging me, asking meif I was ok.I replied yes...and then she said..."your country is being attacked..turn on your tv"...had to have someone from a foreign country tell me and worry about me...
I remember my daughter calling me from college...(her first year and all the way across the state) ...she was hysterical..her friend from NY couldn't reach her mother...they were in the fly path from NY to DC...the terror...the tears...the unadulterated terror as we watch tv from miles apart...
I remember turning on tv and sitting and watching that second plane hit the towers...I cried ..I was just in shock...thoughts of the people on the planes...and in the towers...watching the tv coverage til well after midnight...
I remember the report of the third plane hitting the Pentagon..omg...THE PENTAGON!!!
Lastly...I remember the palen that was "missing"it was possibly also hijacked...heading toward Cleveland?..no...Pittsburgh??... shoot it down? where is it going??? Shanksville...nose down...in a field...
I remember the days after that I spent in Shanksville working with the recovery teams...helping them to get thru what they had to do for our heros...
And that is why to this day I wear the "Hearts Of Steel" bracelet...someday I will return to Shanksville...but not yet...it's not time....

I attended a Cry Out America event. One of the ladies brought newspapers that she'd picked up during that week. She was visiting NYC. She had pictures taken on a ferry on 9/10 with the towers standing in the background. She's lived through wars, hurricanes, and floods. She said nothing will ever impact her like the stillness that fell on NYC following the attack.
May we never forget.
God bless those who ran toward the Towers.

Thoughts and prayers for everyone. THis day does not get any easier. I remember in 2003, hearing a group read the entire list of victims. It was real sad. I think everyone who honors this day, are true blue americans. And I am glad to see it.

I will never forget. And Grayson, you are so right that it will never get any easier.
Listening to the radio and watching tv today was so emotional, as it always is, with many tears shed. But we must never forget. We must especially never forget the Todd Beamers and Jeremy Glicks of 9/11 and the spirit they had that so many of us have and will continue to have, encouraged by them.
In between the songs and audio from phone calls made to loved ones from victims that day and cockpit recordings, I heard this read on the radio and it was just as moving:
Meet Me in the stairwell
You say you will never forget where you were when
you heard the news On September 11, 2001.
Neither will I.
I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room
with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I
held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the
peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it
is OK..I am ready to go.'
I was with his wife when he called as she fed
breakfast to their children. I held her up as she
tried to understand his words and as she realized
he wasn't coming home that night.
I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a
woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been
knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said.
'Of course I will show you the way home - only
believe in Me now.'
I was at the base of the building with the Priest
ministering to the injured and devastated souls.
I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He
heard my voice and answered.
I was on all four of those planes, in every seat,
with every prayer. I was with the crew as they
were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the
believers there, comforting and assuring them that their
faith has saved them.
I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan .
I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.
Did you sense Me?
I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew
every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me
for the first time on the 86th floor.
Some sought Me with their last breath.
Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the
smoke and flames; 'Come to Me… this way… take
my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.
But, I was there.
I did not place you in the Tower that day. You
may not know why, but I do. However, if you were
there in that explosive moment in time, would you have
reached for Me?
Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey
for you . But someday your journey will end. And I
will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may
be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are
'ready to go.'
I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.
