Just when you thought you'd read it all. If this doesn't make you sick.

San Bernardino police arrested a woman suspected of boarding nearly two dozen mentally ill people in converted chicken coops in her backyard.
Pensri Sophar Dalton, 61, was arrested Friday morning on suspicion of 16 counts of elder or dependent abuse. City Attorney James F. Penman said 22 people were living in three dilapidated buildings - none of them with indoor plumbing - behind Dalton's house.

"The smell is horrific," Penman said, noting that residents used buckets as toilets. "The stench of urine is pretty strong. ... No one should have to live in these conditions."

I really could use that puke button.

I am glad this is being reported. I think the current media is somewhat reluctant to report stores involving inslavement and torture. Which I hate to say, are actually somewhat common.

OMGosh!!!!! This is horrible. LE should stick this witch in one of her coops until her trial date. Let her see how it feels. :cursing:

And her workers too. They had to know this wasn't right.

MY GOD...Elderly..dementia..mental health problems and put in Chicken Coops? I'm aghast. WHY didn't that neighbor do something more?

Chicken wires..seeing people under trees..eating from "Mash type" feedings at picnic tables? GOOD LORD...what glasses was he wearing?? Then..Ignore it and maybe it will go away type?

I hope ..yes...she gets COOPED UP for the rest of her life..in the same stench and conditions she put those Lovely..Innocent HUMAN BEINGS through. Justice...will it be delivered?

Several questions immediately come to mind and hopefully none of the "biggies" I leave out, but......
1) How does anyone (meaning city and state officials) assume someone is licensed for this sort of thing and just send the checks to her but not check out the facility?

2) How do other facilities send people/patients to her without the residence being checked out and found to be certified?

3) And what were the agencies doing that are supposed to oversee these people and check on them once in awhile-----if they hadn't received a report from a bonafide doctor or nurse as to the person's welfare then they should have been out checking on them???

4) The article said that some of the people had been picked up by family members-------didn't the family members care enough about their people to check out the residence beforehand?? I know my family did in the case of my grandmother and my mother!

5) I wonder how long this has gone on......
