I don't expect to get much response on this here, but the OJ thread is locked so I put it here.

LAS VEGAS (AP) - O.J. Simpson is appealing to the Nevada Supreme Court to overturn his conviction on Las Vegas armed robbery and kidnapping charges.

A court clerk says his appeal was filed Tuesday in Carson City.

The appeal alleges Simpson's conviction in a hotel room confrontation with two sports memorabilia dealers was tainted by judicial misconduct, a lack of racial diversity on the jury and errors in sentencing and jury instructions.

The document criticizes Clark County District Court Judge Jackie Glass and accuses prosecutors of improperly questioning witnesses about allegations of intimidation.

It could take a year or more for justices to issue a ruling.

The former football star was convicted last October and is serving nine to 33 years in state prison.

He's lucky I'm not a Nevada Supreme Court Justice. With OJ's name on the appeal, I'd just write affirmed without bothering to study the case. This is one of the very few cases where our founding fathers would conclude that the constitution and due process does not apply.

I'm sure the sigh of relief could be heard across the State. OJ is where he belongs.

That is a scary thought. The constitution and more importantly DUE PROCESS should always apply, equally and across the board.

Due process always applies - it's all the more important for the worst and most despised people in society.

And OJ has had it, with a bit of extra consideration, IMO, appropriate to be certain he is not being treated differently due to people's opinions of him as a person.

And it was confirmed - he's right where he belongs, there is nothing so unusual about his trial as to suggest he should be out awaiting appeals. He stays in jail.

Indeed. that is the reason we need it. Same with free speech. We need freedom of speech to protect unpopular speech, not the speech none of us mind hearing.
