reading back thru today's posts and looking again at photos from the A home (thanks to witchy for the link)

something struck me that I missed when the media first posted these pics-

but want to know what date were these photos taken, and is this room Casey's room in pic #38 & 39 or is it G & C's? (I thought it was Casey's room)-

http://www.wesh.com/slideshow/caseya...75/detail.html

I just find it odd that she would have a flyer in her room for a

Fund raiser for Trenton Duckett to be held October 2008

I know Trenton approached the family early on- but was wondering how in advance were his flyers printed up- if after Casey's last arrest, then why the parents stick that in her room...

(just thinking back to the computer searches done earlier in '08 about missing children, etc. the angle with the M's having a hand in the Duckett case & the Anthony case)

Good morning:
I cannot wait to hear the Lenny & Co. tapes. I know that Lenny got on some of the posters nerves but, I always liked to hear him try to talk on NG's show. He would start with something interesting to learn and she would just cut him. She irritates me when she cuts her guest off. I don't know why she has guests on her show she never lets them speak.

Lenny being an attorney himself and in the hunting for bad guys business knows how to get things out of folks without them knowing they flipped their hand. I am hoping that hs interview is as revealing as I hope it to be.
Lenny does like to talk and I am hoping he has a opportunity to spill his guts.

I hope Caylee is chasing Butterflies

The flyers are for an event on October 25, 2008 at the Sleepy Hollow Sports Complex http://www.leesburgflorida.gov/government/projects_sleepy.aspx

IMO, because the SHSC is soccer, football, youth softball and adult softball fields, these flyers would have been made up and passed out 6-8 weeks before the event.

Morning Postie!

Pics #38 & #39 were in casey's bedroom. If you look at pic #44 (far right) you will see that piece of furniture with all that 'stuff' is in casey's bedroom.

What I find interesting is the missing poster on her wall. Aside from the oddity of this being on the wall...the missing date reads 06/09/2008. I also chuckled at the yearbook on casey's bed. Note the title is Bringin' Down the House....so appropriate to describe just what casey did.

I am not the neatest person in the world. I live by the old saying that my house is clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy. I tend to collect "doodads" that serve no function except to amuse me, and horizontal surfaces in this house tend to collect "things." But I have never seen a house so full of crap as this one. Dear Spots- you may want to avoid watching A&E's "Hoarders" specials airing on Mon. nites then. Just the promos show that they all take top prize over the A's.

*thud*

Now that the A's no longer have to work and apparently have extra $ at their disposal, they could consider renting a storage shed or a POD to have more elbow room in their house or garage, (or just move to a bigger home).

omg- I knew this is an OCD thing (and hard to cure w/ meds) but I never knew there was a name- disposophobia.

I don't think the A's suffer from that- they pitched lots of things in the beginning, all the donated toys for Caylee, pitched things from the memorial site that wasn't even on their property, other people's property (signs, dog's water, etc.)

and the "disposophobia" runs in both my family & my in-laws!

This was the SECOND annual fundraiser for Trenton at Sleepy Hollow:

http://www.lakecountyfl.gov/calendar/event_details.aspx?EventID=6354

Remember in that first interview with Cindy where she is sitting at the dining room table talking to the reporter. She mentioned Josh contacting her, and we've also seen the pics of Cindy dragging Josh in her house, and hugging him outside. It would seem that Josh was giving the A's a 101 class on missing children, and perhaps dropped off the flyer as an example of what he does to raise money.

Though I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Cindy purposely stuck the flyer in casey's room in an effort to try and make it appear (to LE, or the media tours) that casey was interested, concerned and compassionate about all 'missing' children.

How could I have forgotten the Daisey Chain ...duh me!

I am hoping that in the tapes he does get to discuss his daisey chain connection theory. Everytime he would try to say something about the Roy Kronk inside info with OCPD NG would cut him off.

I don't think a book from Lenny & Co will be coming. Listening to Lenny talking the other day in reference to him and Baez the agreement he signed with Baez was to agree not to profit from books, movies, etc.

Baez has been controlling all the mail Casey receives even from her parents. He first reads it then decided whether he'll give it to Casey or not. Then he smuggles it into the jail instead of going through proper channels like everyone else. Mail is considered contraband in jail.

I believe that Lenny P was doing all this for publicity as well...They all had their motives...Lenny P is in the making of a TV series...This whole thing did not actually cost Lenny P any out of pocket money...his nephue (who will probably be on his show) waived his fee (which would have been the 50,000) that would have had to be paid to the bondsman for Casey's release....so in reality it only cost Lenny and company traveling costs...and with all the publicity he received from this case, that was a very cheap price.....

Who knew Lenny before the Casey Anthony case? Just take a look at how he is now known...

Just my crazy head thinking. If They did not want Baez to censor her mail they should sent their letters like everyone else. The jail would censor but at least she would get her mail.
Would the A's get in trouble for using Baez as mailcarrier?

Why would the A's complain about getting their mail to Casey? I am not understanding, not trying being snippy.

Because Baez has no obligation to give them to KC and he may not have...

Thank you for explaining.
Just my crazy head thinking. If They did not want Baez to censor her mail they should sent their letters like everyone else. The jail would censor but at least she would get her mail.
Would the A's get in trouble for using Baez as mailcarrier?

They would not use regular mail cause they think they are above rules and regulations...The A's would not get in trouble but Baez would.

As Baez was the one smuggling it in and out of the jail I have to say he'd be the one in trouble. According to Conway this is the way Baez wanted it and the A's went along with it up til now. I think the A's believe that Baez is not delivery ALL the letters they send their daughter only the ones he wants her to have and vica versa.

She really didn't think she would get caught. I can not believe that she was so confident.

2w4u

I wonder how Casey was planning on "explaining" to Amy that she had drained her bank account. That was about to come down really fast.

That's probably what was on her mind when she opened the door at TonE's apartment and saw Amy standing there. She had no idea at that moment that it was going to be much, much worse.

BTW when I reviewed George's statement to LE yesterday, he said that they didn't know anything about Casey wanting to/planning to go to Puerto Rico, so that couldn't have figured into the fight Casey and Cindy had. At one time, I thought perhaps Cindy had refused to watch Caylee while Casey went off to play, but obviously that wasn't the case.

Baez has been controlling all the mail Casey receives even from her parents. He first reads it then decided whether he'll give it to Casey or not. Then he smuggles it into the jail instead of going through proper channels like everyone else. Mail is considered contraband in jail.

I think it was another control issue with Cindy. She probably thought with Baez delivering Casey's mail to her they would have better control of Cindy. What they didn't realize is Baez was the one who was controlling everything. What was past on to Casey, what was not.
Same with Casey. Cindy probably thinks Baez is not getting all of Casey's correspondence to them like it was agreed. (doesn't help that twice now their own daughter is completely ignoring them in court)
Cindy probably had another outburst and blew the whistle on Baez. Dunno.

I believe these were taken the day Caylee's remains were found or the day after.

I think you are right about when the photos were taken. In particular, the emphasis on the scrapbooking materials including the little heart stickers reflects awareness of the heart-shaped adhesive residue on the duct tape and the paper remnant of a heart sticker.

I wonder whether the Trenton Ducket fundraiser flyers reflect the Anthonys deep and abiding interest in how they themselves can raise some funds from Caylee's disappearance/murder. Not that they ever spent a nickel actually searching for Caylee (that I am aware of) but since Cindy and George both quit working, they need to do something to raise money to pay their living expenses.

Casey had no intentions on explaining what happened to Amy's checking account. I do not think Casey realized all those places had eyes in the sky video surveillance, her drvier's license was scanned on to the back of one of the checks or that she had actually signed Casey M Anthony to a check and not Amy Huizenga.

Always only my own opinions

I know this question is a little 'out there' Katprint so don't chew me up and spit me out, but I've got to ask....can you think of any scenario/justification whereby the State could slide in a question to the Anthony's about how they are surviving financially while unemployed for over a year? I suppose even if they did ask they wouldn't get a straight answer, nor would it have a direct impact on the murder trial. But I admit to being very curious about this, especially considering the state of their finances when casey was 1st arrested.

Also, this week I read in our local paper how the recession is affecting jurors. The article stated many people are begging the courts to let them off of jury duty because it would create a financial hardship. Some stating they are currently the only breadwinner in the family, or they can't afford the gas to drive to court, they need to work overtime to survive, can't afford to pay a sitter, etc. Have you found this to be a problem in your local courts? Needless to say I'm just wondering if this will impact seating a jury in casey's trial (s). I've got a feeling it's going to take weeks just to select jurors.

But I thought Cindy said Casey paid for all the flights.

Another example of Casey flying by the seat of her britches.

Here's another new release, same as the others.

http://wdbo.com/localnews/2009/09/breaking-casey-anthony-trial-t.html

from this article:

Strickland acknowledged jury selection could be difficult given the attention paid to Anthony's murder investigation, but ruled "that is not a sufficient reason to delay this matter until after the murder trial. Further, the state has offered to go 'non-jury,' with a simple bench trial."

I am so very relieved. I was very fearful that Judge Strickland would not rule this way. Great that he said trial would be over in a day or two and is rather simple in terms of attorney skill!

IMO, no one, judge or jury, will buy the "Amy gave Casey permission to use her checkbook" scenario.

And more importantly, even if they did, Casey still committed fraud. So it doesn't matter if that is her defense, she still is going down.

It is possible that the Anthonys will "open the door" with a nonresponsive answer to a question, like we saw about 1000 times during their depositions. In response to a question about whether they ever saw Casey search for Caylee or whether they themselves searched their backyard (e.g. under the pavers, under Caylee's playhouse etc.) or their neighborhood or anywhere else, they may start with their self-glorification about how they have started a foundation to help search for missing children everywhere. The prosecution could then smack them down with how they both quit their jobs and have been living off the money from selling photos and videos of Caylee as well as money they received from their foundation, and how they never spent any of that money searching for Caylee. A reasonable inference to be drawn from their failure to join the search for Caylee and/or their failure to spend that money on searchers instead of themselves is that they did not want Caylee (her remains) to be found.

BUT if the Anthonys don't open the door, then how they have been supporting themselves is probably not "material" to the murder prosecution i.e. it doesn't really make it more likely that Casey murdered Caylee. It would primarily be a witness impeachment issue.

I live in a major metropolitan area where there are lots of people and consequently lots of potential jurors. Our jury summoning system was recently streamlined so that people who need to be excused for hardship merely respond to the questionnaire on the back of their juror summons. They can even log in online to take care of it. Plus, instead of the old method of being summoned then sitting around for a week waiting to see if any trials needed you as a juror, the computerized system lets you check in the night before to determine whether you will need to physically come in to the court the next day.

So, for example, if it anticipated that 200 jurors will be needed for 10 trials that are scheduled on a given day, the computer initially summons 1000 people and then 500 of them respond to the questionnaire and are excused for hardship (economic, caretaker of minor child, etc.) then the computer can randomly assign 200 of those remaining 500 to report to the courthouse. This is a dramatic improvement over summoning 1000 jurors and requiring them all to report to the jury pool room, wait around in the jury pool room for days, then if they are picked as a potential juror for a particular trial to go to the courtroom, pass voir dire, and only then tell the judge that they cannot serve because of whatever hardship. Or, to have bench warrants issued for the arrest of people who can't even report to the jury pool room because they truly have a hardship that can't be put off even for a day (e.g. breastfed infant, caring for bedridden parents, etc.)

So I would have to say no, technological advances have considerably decreased this problem in the jurisdictions where I practice. However, I can see how it might be a problem in smaller counties who may not have been able to upgrade their system of summoning jurors.

So I would have to say no, technological advances have considerably decreased this problem in the jurisdictions where I practice. However, I can see how it might be a problem in smaller counties who may not have been able to upgrade their system of summoning jurors.

Thank you for taking the time to respond Katprint.

I soooo hope one of the A's open that door as I would love to see them squirm and stumble when asked about how they are supporting themselves without being employed.

I have only been called for jury duty twice in my lifetime, and the last time was over 10 years ago. I do recall recently seeing something about jury duty on our county website, so I imagine we now have a similar online system in place. The article I referenced was talking generally about juries, not my specific state of residence. I think the point of the article was just that so many more people these days are claiming hardships, (understandably), and requesting they be released from jury duty than ever in the past. Also the article implied they were being granted their request. On the 2 times I was called for JD the Judge was not very lenient about releasing people, many of whom had what I would consider valid reasons to request being dismissed, but they weren't. Also one young man was brought in courtesy of the County, and the Judge blasted him royally. Perhaps the courts are being more lenient with excusing people these days considering the state of the economy.

I need to do some research to see what jury system they use in FL.

I'm glad you posted that video. We were trying to remember that first court appearance and where the other Judge came into the picture.

“You left your two year old daughter with a person who does not exist at an apartment you cannot identify and you lied to your parents about your child’s whereabouts,” Jordan said. “You cared so little about your child.”

I recall now that attorney quickly turning to Casey as if to tell her not to respond. Of course, Casey didn't.

What are the bets on whether the fraud trial will be jury or bench trial.

OT: Yes, once the judge actually has you in his courtroom then he is much less likely to let you go, as what he really really wants is to get the jury seated so the trial can get going. You have to get out while the getting is good, which is BEFORE you are trapped in the judge's courtroom. If the jury questionnaire is inadequate to convey your particular situation (say, a tree fell on your house during the last severe thunderstorm and you have to be at home to deal with insurance adjusters and contractors during the next several weeks) then the best bet is to write a detailed sob story and send it in with your questionnaire. In California, the buzz words to include, maybe even bold and underline, are "undue hardship" as in "It will be an undue hardship on me to serve as a juror at this time because (whatever problem). Blah, blah, blah." You can almost always get at least a deferral/postponement even if the court is unwilling to completely excuse you.

I am not clear why someone who is unemployed would suffer severe financial hardship from being required to serve on a jury. To the contrary, if they are good at social networking then they might get a few good job leads.

That's a lot of Ham, is it in honor of Lenny?

Yes, I think a nice ham would show my appreciation for him and his crew enduring the A's circus and then being able to share their experience with LE. and thanks to the Fl. Sunshine Law they will be able to share with us

Here's to Lenny! and the rest of his crew! Ham for everyone!

It's NOT your b-day, again! :punch:

I didn't think Stanley would rule that way. I'm impressed.

Bolding mine....

Me too. I am very pleasantly surprised. Initially I thought there is no way that the check fraud case was going to be allowed to be heard before the murder trial, but when the judge was taking so long to make his decision I was beginning to think it could happen. I bet this knocked that perpetual smirk right off of JB's face.

Maybe someone tipped her off to the utter inappropriateness of her pithy (er ... self-absorbed) little notes juxtaposed against the "We will always remember you Caylee Marie" sentiment?

Maybe it is just me, but if, God Forbid, I became caught up in a big "News Story" like this one that is attracting a lot of attention due to the heinous nature of the crime, and the only reason I was involved was due to my being engaged to or dating a family member of the accused. I just might decide to shut down the Facebook, MySpace sites, maybe go a bit under the radar if I could. I mean isn't there some other way she can let her friends and family know her moods on a daily basis? Honestly, do they really care to know? To me it smacks of self importance, maybe MallyBu wants to make sure enough attention is paid to her, what with her significant other distracted by the actions of his family unit.

One last thing, considering the seriousness of the situation, I'd drop the babytalk sounding "MallyBu".

Do you think Cindy and George will have to testify at the check fraud trial? I don't see what testimony they could give regarding that particular crime as it happened while Casey was on her "break" from the family.

I do want to see who is anyone is called as a "character" witness for Casey. Now that everyone of her friends knows she is a thief, I can't imagine there being one person out there to speak of her in even slightly glowing terms. George, CIndy and Lee can't do it, too much on record already about her thefts from them.

Maybe her kindergarten teacher.... but then there was the missing milk money that one time....

Here ya go Imp! Hi! :seeya:
Anthonys To Mail Letters To Casey Despite Policy (http://www.wesh.com/caseyanthony/20672110/detail.html)
If Baez has been merely showing the Anthonys' letters to Casey or verbally summarizing for Casey what was in those letters, that is probably not an ethical violation. Attorneys sum up communications all the time, like "the prosecutor has offered (whatever)" or "your aunt says she doesn't remember you being at her house when the robbery occurred" or "here, I want you to read their statements in the police report" and so forth. I suspect that Baez would pick and choose what he chose to share with Casey, and that the Anthonys are angry that he did not simply hand over the actual letters as they had told him to. Remember, the Anthonys are the kind of people who had the audacity to boss around God and ordered Him to make Caylee a guardian angel watching over genuine missing children instead of taking it easy for a while in Heaven. They would not hesitate to try to boss around someone else's attorney.

So now the Anthonys are going to write to Casey directly. With any luck (luck for the prosecution, that is) Casey will respond by writing letters back to the Anthonys. All of these letters - going both ways - will be turned over to the prosecution for use at trial. In turn, the prosecution will turn them over to the defense and then release them to the media. We will be having a lot of interesting stuff to read here, pretty soon!

Same here, on your first point. My guess is Bu! is enjoying the indirect limelight, however, since she seems to have switched out her pic for one with her and the middle finger. She's definitely not trying to put distance between herself and the infamous Anthony clan.

Also agree on your "MallyBu!" point. Ick.

Thanks for the insight Kat.

I have a question about the trial for the stolen checks. Would Casey's statement to LE about 'I did anything including stealing to find Caylee' (something along those lines) be able to be used in the check trial? (I'm assuming it would and will be.)

And if Casey testifies (fat chance) in the check trial and the prosecuter asks her about the above statement could that then be used in the murder trial?

Thanks

You know, unlike the video visitations during which none of the family seems able to contain their emotions or their habit of speaking before they think, letters back and forth *could* give the Ants and their daughter an opportunity to really lay it on thick for public consumption.

It'll be highly entertaining, regardless.

Happy Dance, Thank you Judge Strickland for coming through.

Omgosh I can't wait to see a little justice done, Casey for the first time will have to answer for probably the first time in her life to someone other than her parents, who have been enabling her stealing ways.

I know she is going to answer sooner or later for murdering, Caylee, a sweet innocent little child, her own daughter, but its sweet to know the system is getting the ball rolling.

I know I sound bitter as many do but everytime I think about Caylee, which happens daily, I feel so much anger for Casey it can't happen soon enough.

As always jmo.

She no longer leaves pithy little notes, but her mood is "aggravated." Wonder why?

So the mail person at the jail make copies of the letters and gives them to the prosecution? Just like that? Or they are just never given to the prospective parties and automatically handed over to the prosecution? Sorry to sound so dumb.

I guess on her visits to the Anthony home, Cindy has slipped her some of the Casey Koolaid. Or maybe she'll fool them and use her insider info to write a tell all tome, similar to Scott Peterson's bio sister.
