Good Lord, I've had to turn on the heater already here in the East!! Are any of you turning on yours so early? I wanted it on yesterday but DH said NO NO not yet!!! This morning my FIDS were cold, even though I threw blankets over them last night. It's just nuts our weather. It's going to be 70 80 during the day but when it dips down into the 40s or 50s at night I cannot bear it.
DH is mean. (not really I'm just whining)

:scared: Heater! Our air conditioners are still running full speed just to keep the house cool in the 95 degree weather we are having.

It was 47 this morning and 48 yesterday morning. Our local paper reported over the weekend this is the 15th coolest summer we have had since 1895. My electric bill shows it too.... thank you very much.

The rain is the only thing cooling things down a BIT in Florida. It's still hot and the air is still running!
We are planning a trip to West Virgina for Thanksgiving. Our friend who lives there told us yesterday it was 49 degrees.
I said "Whaaaat?" :scared:
If its that cold already I don't know how I'm going to survive up there for a week in November. :chicken:

Feathered Kids :)) I just love Em to death! But I felt they were a tad puffed up; it dipped down here very cold summer. We never really had summer here, it was "nice" but no dog days no humidity which was nice but none of it normal. Me thinks we are in for a very bad winter. I've never had to turn on the heat in Sept. Maybe Nov but Never before Oct 30th. :(
I miss CA I wanna go HOME!! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

We have had a hotter than normal summer, the humidity was horrendous, I too think we are in for a bad winter. Last month my electric bill was 450.00. :scared:

LTNS, friend. It is comfortable here. Mid 80's during the day mid 60's at night.
We are going camping and floating this holiday weekend so I would like it to be just a little bit warmer. It gets pretty cold where we camp.

I would like for my kids to see some snow here in AR. We haven't had a really good snow since my son was a baby (turn 10 in Oct). I just don't want anymore ice storms. My sanity and families safety can't handle a week without electricity again. lol

Hot and sticky here - with lots of violent thunderstorms - I was on my computer yesterday when we got such a jolt of lightening/thunder, I almost jumped over my desk - which is not easy for a 77 year old lady to do!!:scared: My dogs went crazy. Neighbor called to see if I'm OK - blew her computer modem out and she works for COMCAST - mine was OK - lucky me!!

Too bad we cannot trade off weather, I would gladly trade some of this heat & humidity for some rain & cool air.

This has been an odd summer, for sure. We've only had a few really warm days and the rest have been pretty chilly on average. I think it's that global warming issue starting to raise it's ugly head, but that's a whole 'nuther thread.
My hubby doesn't believe the global warming theory. I do. We have some lively discussions, kinda like around here, and in the end we always agree to disagree.
Suffice it to say the weather has been pretty strange everywhere, lately.
We're fortunate in that we have a gas fireplace and it keeps the whole house warm unless it's freezing out there. I've been pleasantly surprised at our utility bills since we moved here last Sept. Hope it stays that way.

The one good thing I can say for our weather patterns this year is they have kept hurricanes out of the Gulf & for that I am very thankful.

I live up in the Rocky Mountains. It commonly gets down into the 40's (and sometime 30's) in the summertime.
I never leave home without a jacket or sweater once the sun goes down.
Mmmmm. That sounds lovely. I love sleeping when it's cold outside at night. I often leave a small crack in the window in the winter months.... Love a cool room with lots of puffy-soft cugers tucked under my chin!

No heater here, except for the sun. Tucson has been over 100 degrees for days.

We're in southern BC where the summers are always very hot and dry. It was 86 today and cooling off down to high 70's tomorrow. I was at the beach today swimming and I always wonder if "this" swim will be my last one for the summer.
I am so not ready for winter.

But you have that great dry desert heat. Last week here in L.A. it was 104 degrees with only 10% humidity. I took a few walks and it actually felt pretty nice, like being in a dry sauna. That's much better than the muggy heat where you become all hunkered down with sweat. Of course, the wildfire hazard goes up when it's dry, and that's not a good thing.
