I hope this whole ordeal gets picked up by the MSM. I need a light story to follow for a while. Carrie PreJean, ex- Miss California is totally delusional. Especially if she believes she can try this without dragging Donald Trump through the muck, too. He won't stand for it.
The firing had nothing to do with her personal views. It was about HER attitude.

Hmmm, MSM? mainstream media? A google search of "Carrie Prejean Sues" came back with 449 news articles.
Happy Reading.

Methinks someone wants to keep her face in the news.
Seems to me that she felt too famous to go to some of the podunk scheduled events for Miss California, because of the blast of publicity she got because of Perez Hilton's reaction to her comment about gay marriage. Seems to me that she got such a big head about being the New Conservative Princess that she felt like she was above the job description for Miss California. Oops.
I'm surprised to be saying this, but I think Donald Trump is a straightshooter, and if he thinks she should have been fired even after supporting her initially then I suspect he had good reasons for saying "You're fired."
Even if she doesn't win anything in court she gets free publicity and we see her sprayon tan everywhere for awhile.
If she does win anything in court then it would give a precedent for a whole genre of IMO frivolous lawsuits.
The religion angle seems pretty weak to me. I can think of a whole stack of suits I could go file if Prejean's holds water in court.

Interesting. The pagaent's lawyer spews hatred toward her and calls her a bigot for saying exactly what Obama and most Americans believe..in every election it has been on the ballot including wacky California.... marriage should be between a man and a woman.

"More importantly, as everyone who watched or read her public statements is well aware, Ms. Prejean's unfortunate and bigoted statements are responsible for any public humiliation or damages to her reputation that she has claimed to have suffered," Avanzado wrote. "Ms. Moakler strenuously denies that she did anything wrong and looks forward to proving that in a court of law."

Carrie PreJean was not fired for her beliefs. I cannot believe the pageant was not aware of how she felt about that issue. This was not their first rodeo with her. Those girls are prepped to the max, up to and including the boob job.
I'm looking forward to a jury trial on this one. The cross examination of CP will be very entertaining. I have a hunch the photos we saw were just the tip of the iceberg.
After all is said and done, this is not about CP. It is about the conservative organizations who are using her.
How can CP not name Donald Trump? He owns the corporation and has been been very public about her.
CP is supposed to be on O'Reilly tonight (09/02). Donald Trump should be soon, too. Seems pretty silly that CP's attorneys wouldn't want her to just shut up at this point.

IMO it's an enormous waste of time and money. I know we have the right to sue, but seriously, doesn't Miss Prejean have anything better to do with her time?
I'm a conservative and even I am cringing at this whole situation. Sometimes the public people on the conservative side of the fence are just too embarrassing for words...:cursing:

Bill, haven't you figured it out yet? Tolerance is one-sided. Where's the tolerance for Carrie Prejean's belief that marriage is between a man and a woman? Why is she being called a bigot because she believes that? Mr. Obama believes it, too, IIRC, and no one is calling him out.
Which is how it should be - IMO. This is not a question of hate or intolernace or bigotry. It is a personal belief. She's certainly not calling for gay couples to be jailed, FGS.

I would guess that about half of the contestants had a similar view as Prejean's, but I'm just guessing. In any case if her objection to gay marriage and/or her religious inclination were a problem I don't think she would have won in the first place, or even have made it that far in the competition.
Also why is her religion being claimed as the cause of the firing? Religion doesn't automatically mean someone objects to gay marriage, and objecting to gay marriage sure doesn't automatically mean someone is religious.

The only reason people are coming down so hard on Carrie PreJean is because of her antics. NOT HER BELIEFS.
Like I've posted many times CP believes it's okay for her to have the freedom to express her beliefs. However, if someone has the audacity to say they disagree, CP plays the victim card.
So, which is it? The freedom to express beliefs or not?

I'm not defending Prejean. I am just tired of being told that I must be more tolerant -- even when my beliefs are not tolerated because they don't line up with the "cool crowd." Geez, I haven't been in high school for decades!
I don't know why you're confused.

I'm not in high school. Nor have I been for decades. The right belongs to everyone. Not just CP and those who agree with her.
Laura Ingraham was filling in for BOR on 9/1/09. I dvr'd it so I could ff to the part about CP's lawsuit. CP was not present. There was a discussion by LI, Lis Weihl and Megan Kelly. They all agreed CP had NO case, and would be better served by NOT filing the lawsuit. The panel cited published e-mails sent by CP to the pageant directors.

ITA on the lawsuit. It should be used as an example of frivolity for first year law students. IMO, it has no merit and is a waste of time and money.
So we agree on something! Carrie needs to be quiet for a while, and maybe come back in a couple of years as a contestant on Dancing With the Stars...

I watched the original 'Valley of the Dolls' a few days ago. If CP can act, she'd be a shoe-in to play Sharon Tate. In a biography or remake of VotD.
