I read Ian's book, and thought it was ok, until the end, I didn't care for much.

That's how I felt about the J Randy book. I enjoyed it in the beginning but maybe it was just too thick. By the end, I was ready to use it as a door stop..........

Wow...excuses excuses........when there isn't any excuse for such poor behavior! How rude, tacky and classless. imo

It is up to the funeral directors when the family procession comes. They are always on scene at the home where the family gathers.

I think they know how to handle a LA extraordinary service.

And other people are just arriving too. AC just said,,,,,,,,,more people are arriving.

I don't even think they know you are here and waiting. Things happen. LA is always chaotic, and even more so now that we are in disaster mode.

Personally, I think they know exactly what they are doing......it's good PR and good for the estate. And probably good for the A&E show the brothers more than likely want to continue into a series.

GentleBreeze

I don't think any of us are being forced to watch this. If its upsetting to you, its simple... just don't watch it. And Liz... I'm sure she is understanding to the situation.

I am stunned that some say they are watching.:w00t:

Hi GentleBreeze and Sallie... I'm so happy you are here, and hope you stay and post with us (me). Its so nice to hear all the people who knew Michael speaking so highly of him, on tv I mean. Liz Taylor is still so beautiful, huh.

Hello to you too, I watching LK and the TMZ live stream. Unbelievable how beautiful Elizabeth still looks. I may not speak highly of Michael Jackson, but I DO NOT speak bad of him.

He was a celebrity, so we get to hear all the bad, I couldn't imagine what would be said of me, if I had the media following me all the time and commenting about everything I do, see, hear, say, eat, wear...etc...

GentleBreeze
09-03-2009, 10:31 PM
Oh gee wiz. Unless the funeral is yours, why worry about it. This is a family who is about to bury someone they loved. They aren't the ones who are being tacky, rude or classless. I just don't understand why people are still watching it, if it bothers them so much. Its so simple, change the channel.

I am so glad to see Lisa there. I always felt she would come. She truly loved MJ very much.

I thought it was so moving what she said on her web page.

Yeah, but have those funerals had all the hoopla and publicity behind them like the Michael Machine? Have you been to a funeral of someone as popular and controversial as Michael?

GentleBreeze

I heard that too.. But that it would be to another area of the cemetery so that he could be buried closer to his hero, Walt Disney.

I don't believe he will ever be moved. His family has said clearly that MJ will be laid to rest tonight.

The estate is paying plenty of money to have this funeral, and as such, the family should be able to do it any way they want. We are not invited guests. I don't see any of the invited guests looking upset and leaving.

See that is the part I dont understand. Why does it matter what this cost or what happens at the funeral? We sure aren't involved one iota and don't have a dime in it.

That is like someone coming in and trying to tell me how much to spend on a funeral for my loved one and complaining about it when they are only an outsider and not involved anyway.:thumbdown:

I have no issue with the dollar amount if the attorney for the children is OK with it. We are not invited guests? lol, come on now......we can see it on various channels on TV and the internet. Of course we are invited. It's all a staged event, timed perfectly, for the cameras. And for the brothers to use as income through their deal with A&E.

The entire funeral was taped and given to the widow.

But I don't understand your question because I don't see any recognizable media at the service. All I see is them standing on the other side of the street and not even close to the FL property.

It means nothing to you that CNN and the TV Guide Channel (among others) have been broadcasting Liz and Al and other guest sitting in the perfectly white chairs, and Joe directing traffic and.....on and on the circus goes. I think it's incredibly rude to keep guests waiting that long...it's not like they didn't have over TWO MONTHS to get prepared!

There is no excuse.

Some of them seemed very hot. I can only imagine Taylor was quite uncomfortable. She arrived at 6:30 and waiting almost 2 hrs for the Jacksons to get there.

There were some round, red plastic buckets in the back of the seating area with water bottles and the guests kept going to get water. The reporters talked about how amazingly hot it was until after the sun went down.

Barry Bonds was there. Messerau, too. Al Sharpton was tweeting from his seat, as per Anderson Cooper.

Most of the 26 cars in the motorcade were empty save the drivers. I thought that was odd.

If you think an embalmed corpse doesn't have an odor, you are very wrong. I had A&P using a corpse for a month...I didn't think I would ever get that smell out of my nose.

I don't know how a mortician stops that odor during viewings...but whatever they do, I don't think it would work outside in the heat for 3 + hours......

Please don't tell me what you have ...yada yada yada.

A quickly embalmed body who has been in a low temp chamber does not have an order.

The attorney for James Brown checked on JBs corpse everyday because he was fearful that one of his family members would steal the body. When he was buried after two months his attorney said his body was fine.

I know it is more sensationalistic to want to think MJs smells. Just another thing negative to say about him.

Personally, I think it was all planned. I dont think anything was spoiled or anyone missed eating something good. It was all for publicity. The restaurant knew what time they would be there. I doubt the Jackson family would risk ruining a huge feast for the family and select friends after this glorious A&E event.

At 7 it was 86 and Ted Rowlands said that it was cooling down and very nice evening.

I heard that too.. But that it would be to another area of the cemetery so that he could be buried closer to his hero, Walt Disney.

I heard that part of the high cost included the purchase of a large family plot which will eventually become one of the private garden areas. These areas have high brick walls around them and entry requires a gate key.

I think it would be wonderful for all the family to be together.

J. Randy claims to be a longtime acquaintance of Michael's. And an interviewer of him from the early years.

He was on TVGN tonight giving the play by play. I find him, for some reason, highly unwatchable. He bores me to tears.

I found the comments by Gotham Chopra (LOVE his name) about MJ not being close to his family, and how he (GC) never met any of the family despite having been a close friend of MJ's for years and traveling with MJ on his tours, as a teenager, very interesting.

CNN is also transmitting off the pool camera.

There was a pool camera up high, and then the feed from the cameras set up by and for the Jacksons, for the reality show, which ended just after the casket was brought in by the brothers and the children went up to it.

I found it interesting that on TVGN they said that the guess would have had to sign releases, as the cameras were there to film them for the reality show. They wondered how they got them to sign releases.

IMO the Jacksons are one selfish family it has to be all about them making their late grand entrance when they had all day to get there.

The funeral began about an hour and a half late because of the tardy arrival of his parents, Joe and Katherine, and other family members. They included the singer's three children, Prince Michael, 12, Paris Michael, 10, and Prince Michael II, 7, known as Blanket.

The invitation notice indicated the service would begin promptly at 7 p.m.; it began closer to 8:30.

The 77-year-old Taylor and about 200 other mourners were left waiting in the late summer heat, with the temperature stuck at 90 degrees just before sunset. Some mourners fanned themselves with programs for the service at Forest Lawn Glendale.

You were not forced to watch, just like they were not forced to pay their respects to a beautiful man, who's heart was pure, and who's purpose in life was to bring joy to every person on the planet. And indeed he did bring joy to untold numbers of children, and adults worldwide. His generosity fed the poor, and healed the sick. He has been blessed by God, because he was a reflection of God's goodness. Those who are blinded by hate, will never know of the goodness and decency that was Michael Jackson.

Yes, the noble cause. By the way.. the reason the family was late was due to Michaels Mother, Katherine incappacitated with grief and sadness. Enjoy your night.

He isn't the biggest celebrity in the world IMO He was a celebrity but he hasn't done anything musically for yrs.

He was the biggest celebrity in the world. Im sure his family would have liked a private burial.
Stop hating'. You have nothing to gain by assassinating a dead man.

I'm just now watching this on CNN. The commentator said Debbie Rowe was invited, but chose not to attend.

That she was invited tells me MJ's kids have a huge input into this process. So much emphasis is being put on the choices made by the extended Family.

MJ's children have been raised to be strong, independent and smart. They are more integral to the decisions than they are being given credit. Paris has already proved to be outspoken and independent. Prince obviously has decision making capabilities if the Dr. sought him out first. Blanket is young enough to still be confused about the process. They know and understand more of what MJ wanted than anyone.

I don't doubt for a single second Paris and Prince would not hesitate to say NO if the situation called for it. They also have the powerful backing of the trustees/executors.
