I have found that this Message Board has a plethora of posts that include the addendum/s: IMO, MOO, JMO, OMO etc.
This is curious because this is a Message Board for opinions. So why include these additions to your posts?
1) We know that it is your opinion. Whose else would it be?
2) Are you attempting to circumvent repercussions to your posts? Well, it does not work, as you know. People will respond to your post whether you put IMO, MOO, JMO etc.
3) Are you trying to excuse your posts as non-important? Your opinions are important. People may not agree with you, but you have every right to post your thoughts.
Your opinions are valid. They are yours. You do not have to "ADD" anything to your posts to justify them.
State your opinions.
Stand by them.
Do not feel you have to justify or soften anything you say.
By adding JMO, MOO, OMO etc you are asking people to discount what you have posted.

Sorry, not so. Start your post with: This is how I see it, or - From what I know so far - or whatever. Posters most often state what they think are the facts. That is fine, because it opens responses to others to refute those statements with links and facts.
What I am referring to is the "soft" posts, as to feelings or opinions on a topic. Those posts are opinions - and they are valid, as to the person posting.
If you are attempting to post "facts" - they are not your opinion - they are facts and can be challenged by anyone on this board.

Re; imo, jmo, moo

This bears repeating from old thread:
It is NOT A RULE that you must use the above acronyms in your post unless you are making a positive statement about something you have no proof for that could be incriminating. IE: he/she killed her; he/she was arrested; he/she is a prostitute; he/she killed before; he/she said "xxxx".
Any of those can be libel. This is an opinion board so everything you write is considered your opinion. On incriminating statements without proof it is ADVISABLE (and may be deleted if you don't) use the words "I think" or "I believe" or "In my opinion", etc. To keep putting IMO, JMO, MOO after your posts really means nothing, as putting it in your location or sig line means nothing. It's takes up space.
Any questions PM me. Thank you.

No, they can't say anything they want. Since these are opinion boards they don't really to use any of the acronyms, everything posted is considered an opinion.
However if they make a STATEMENT without proof that could be liblelous and do not state "my opinion, or I think, or I believe" etc, they can get in trouble. They signed the TOS which clearly states THEY ALONE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT THEY POST. Therefore they take a chance saying things like 'she's a prostitute', 'he's a murderer', he stole xxxx', 'he said xxxxxx'. If we see such remarks or they are reported to us we will take action to remove them but with the amount of posts per day we will miss many and as I said, it is the 'responbility' of the poster ONLY.

Thank you, Warhorse46,
I know this is posted for the site. I've read it. But it seems that 99.9% of the posters here have not read it. So my thread. Thank you for copying it to this thread.
Who knows, maybe it will get to some posters.
