RICHMOND, Virginia - An executive for an anti-animal cruelty group says her 16-year-old blind and deaf dog died after she accidentally left him in her hot car for four hours.

I live in Richmond and my sis works in the newsroom of a local tv station. She says this has prompted more e-mails to the station than any other news story of the year. Many things about her story do not add up. More later.

How the HECK do you leave a dog in the car "accidentally"???

Disgraceful.

And convince your husband to take the fall for you? Plus there are real questions why she did not take the dog to the vet immediately. She messed around trying to revive and rehydrate the dog before she finally went to her vet's office.

Initially she did not admit this happened. She is a volatile and nasty boss at times and my sis said employees of the SPCA were falling over each other trying to get the media to cover this story.

Poor, poor dog.

This is very upsetting. I support the SPCA, and always have. I push people to support them over groups like PETA and even the Humane Society because the SPCA has remained true with their stance on BSL. It is a huge betrayal.

I don't understand how anyone forgets a dog, or a child in their car...

Just makes me sad...
