Original photograph and info.
It is believed the female photographed is Tara Calico of New Mexico..

The male child remains unidentified.

I hope media in both states will run the handwriting- as someone might recognize the writing and be able to provide tips to LE in either state.

This recent photo mailed doesn't seem to be the same boy tho, imo.

Curious as to why Postergeist you feel the boy in the original and the photo mailed are not the same?

I actually always thought the 1st photo found was actually 2 girls.

I wish the perspective was better, but the child in the orig. pic found (that shows two kids in it), the boy is younger and thinner and his eyebrows are lighter, not as noticeable.

The single picture mailed recently- may be the same boy, but he appears older here, imo- with a bit more weight on him. Granted, with poor nutrition, a child of healthy weight can drop the pounds and then appear younger than their true age.

It may be the same boy, but imo it's not the same time period.

The original photo makes me sick to my stomach. I hope the 2nd photo is just some nut job trying to get attention, and some kind of *sick joke*.

My heart breaks for these kids......

Was this the same time frame that Johnny Gosh or Jaboc Wetterling were missing could it be either one of them

Interesting.. I am familiar with Jacob Wetterling but I was not familiar with Johnny Gosh's case.

I don't know if these cases are related Redlipstick?
20 Years later (as in this case) POI is still looking for attention, or wishes for more?
None the less same narcissitic personsalities at play in both Gosh and the mentioned case.

In this case poor

Eerie how both sets of children’s photos are so closely related.

It is VC Andrews "My Sweet Audrina".

IIRC, Johnny Gosch's mother received similar pictures many years after his kidnapping.

I read in an article that the book is My Sweet Audrina.

On Tara Calico's missing page on Charley Project this is stated.

I'm a bit confused. The story at the OP's link says the photo of the two children was found in a car. That they're believed to be two specific children that were missing and it names them.

Don't they know what they look like? That photo is distinct and easy to see their faces. Can't anyone identify them from that photo? I guess what I don't get is the confusion over who the photos are of. Then they name these two kids it's believed to be.

How tragic. It's obvious the one photo has black marker drawn over the boy's face. But if the case is so old, how come the black marker is over a photo of him as he looked when he disappeared? I guess that's part of what law enforcement is trying to find out. I wish them God speed on solving this.

This case haunts me, and I've never thought that was Tara Calico. To me, Tara's eyes look much closer together, her brow and face look much narrower and her hair is a different style - she seemed to always wear it with short bangs, but this photo either has very long bangs, no bangs, or maybe her bangs are actually there they are just matted to her head.

The girl in the photo has straight line, natural eyebrows and Tara has either very arched natural eyebrows, or eyebrows that are tweezed into an arch. In my opinion.

They do look very similar, so who knows.

I was very interested in the sheriff's bizarre story that he knew what happened to her, and who is responsible for her death, but he won't tell. ?????

I wonder if her mother stated that was a shirt she's known to have? It's an unusual t-shirt.

This photo haunts me. Sounds like it haunts a lot of people.

I think you're right about her eyebrows. They're not the same. But the photo surfaced 19 mos. following her being missing so her hair (bangs) could've grown quite a lot in that amount of time.

Yes, it's a haunting and horrible images of those two children. I so wish society could do something with these offenders who harm children.
