LEXINGTON, Ga. — An elderly woman killed by a pack of wild dogs had been out for a walk when she was attacked, and her husband died trying to fight off the mauling animals when he discovered the bloody scene near their rural Georgia home, authorities said Tuesday.

This story is both shocking and sad. What a terrible way to go.

I wonder why no one noticed this pack of dogs sooner. Why were they so aggressive to these people? So many questions....

TY for link. I just heard briefly on news. So very sad. Must be a rural area? Not sure. Apparent dogs were hanging around a vacant house. I wonder how long they been living there and breeding?

My prayers go out to the family and the victims.

Something needs to be done. IMO

Oglethorp county is pretty rural. I wonder if they have any animal control regulations in that county. Many in GA don't. Typically they will wait until someone is killed or almost killed. Shame when you should be armed to go out for a walk.

Just got back on. Feeding 2 feral kittens we rescued last week. I live in the city.

Shame is right. My daughter used to live in a very rural area. No animal control. Shoot was the word. :(

Very sad!

This is the reason I don't go for walks. We live out in the country and we get groups of dogs running wild every so often. I'm not willing to take any chances with me OR my dogs.
