All networks in competition for listeners and ads: So NBC has GE; CNN has TimeWarner and something else; Fox has Murdoch and every radio and TV station in every hamlet in the country..... and ABC has what Disney etc...
I think NBC/MSNBC balances out Fox: CNN plays it more down the middle. To each his own. And lots of folks lost rabbit ear channels with the converter box deals, so who knows who watches anything anymore. Cable is infotainment and opinion no matter what channel watched. They have produced "shows." I try to watch a "few" shows on each cable network: then CBS at night, as I've watched CBS since Cronkite days.
