I don't think this woman's elevator goes all the way to the top floor and IMHO Pitino is just scum.

I've never cared for Pitino personally. But why exactly is his job at risk when he was the victim of extortion?

I don't think it's right that this is all in the press. He was the victim, he was truthful with his employers before it became public knowledge.

If they wanted or needed to fire him, they needed to do so before it hit the press. Done before on moral grounds would have been valid, done now it would just be for appearances.

I don't condone what he's done, I don't condone his attempts to keep it under wraps by paying the extortionist to a point. But now that it's a criminal matter, it's just wrong to allow the extortionist to exact revenge on her victim exactly as she promised she would, when the victim in the end went to police.

It kinda tells every victim of a like crime that they don't have an avenue other than allowing themselves to be victimized (or do something egregiously illegal).

What he did isn't illegal per se but there's a morality clause in his contract. If having sex with someone you aren't married to and pay for an abortion isn't immoral then I don't know what is. With that clause Louisville can fire him and they don't have to pay him anything.

The only ones I feel sorry for are his wife and kids.

Yes, I agree completely. But my point was, he did tell them before this all hit the press and they decided at that time not to fire him.

To do so now would be hypocritical at best and only because of the press, not because they're so concerned with that morals clause.

I think he'll stay around for this upcoming season but I don't think he'll be there anymore than another year. If he has any decency about him he would resign and try to work things out with his family.
