So young!
That's awful to happen to both halves of a married couple. Just beyond belief.

OMG, the pain your family must be going thru. Your family is in my heart and in my prayers. They're both going to need a lot of support from their family and friends in this chapter of their lives.

Prayers for your family, Pretty Leaf.
I have known several people who have been diagnosed with colon cancer in the past 5-10 years and all have had a good outcome.

Prayers for your family, Pretty Leaf.
I have known several people who have been diagnosed with colon cancer in the past 5-10 years and all have had a good outcome.
My mom was diagnosed with colon cancer and given 4 months lived 18 months. She decided after 2 chemo's that given a short amount of time and that chemo may buy her a little time but not much, that she was going to stop and live the rest of her days enjoying her family. I believe her determination got her through to 18 months.
In fact she never knew how sick she was till 3 days before she died. The docs, who made house calls told us to get the family together she was going to go. So we had my sister fly in from Winnipeg. She and I entered her room and she said "Barb, (my sisters name) then she turned to me and said"am I dying?" I shook my head yes. She never got out of bed after that and died 60 hours later.
Why I tell this is my SIL keeps asking what mom did and how she came to her decision. I tell her that she will know when the right time will be and that it has to come from her and her heart, it is not the same for everyone. Now with her husband being diagnosed she worries that her kids will not have either parent. We can only listen, offer our help and pray. Since DH and I are home now we can easily take them to hosp for appointments and such. This is so raw for them now.
Txs for all your prayers and I know the power of prayer, we have seen miracles happen right on these boards (Steph48) end such.

Pretty Leaf,
My prayers are on the way to you and your family. Prayers to Mother Theresa have helped me and I know she will help you at this difficult time.
Now that you said that, St Theresa was Mom's favorite saint and during her illness she had a large St. Theresa candle lit in the room during the day. When she died at 12 noon the candle went out by itself beside her bed. Didn't bother us but was a ahh ha she's gone.
