After seven months of controlling the White House and Congress, Democrats have slightly expanded their electoral advantage over the GOP, a new Gallup poll finds. The survey, conducted between January and June of 2009, finds that 30 states prefer the Democratic party by ten points or more, while only 4 states prefer the GOP by as much. Eight states currently lean Democratic while one leans Republican, "lean" denoting a gap of 5 to 10 points. Ten states are competitive, meaning that the parties are within 5 points of each other in terms of voter preference.Thirteen states have a Democratic preference of over 20 points, while only two states prefer Republicans by as much. The bluest states, other than the District of Columbia, are Massachusetts, Hawaii, Maryland and Vermont, while the reddest states are Utah, Wyoming, Idaho and Alaska.

great news, I hope Obama gets the health-care bill passed, if not, we need to make sure the public knows who was against it so we can vote them out

Now they have rent-a-mob protestors to go to town hall meetings to shout down discussions about health care reform. Dirty pool, imo.

I think more people are opening their eyes to what is going on. IMO, the gop will lose big (again) in 2010.

Less than 6 months.

Seems like July opinions might be a little different than Jan opinions.

The GOP implosion continues.

It's not even a party anymore, it's a cult.

And we've all seen what becomes of cults in this country (and abroad).

The only thing that can bring back the GOP is not the GOP but the Democrats. If the Democrats fail to act boldly and decisively, if they cave on healthcare reform, if they fail to overturn DOMA and DADT, if they fail to get us out of Iraq as promised ... then the GOP will have an opportunity to rise from its moribund state.

Maybe they should call themselves Chestnut since Acorn is already taken.

Refreshing to see two can play at that game isn't it?

Of course they haven't figured out how to get Federal Funding like Acorn has, yet.

Well, they haven't learned, if you actually think this story is true, to wear matching shirts like ACORN or the unions. They have a long way to go before they are pros at strong-arming people.

SENATE HOUSE

60 Democrats 300 plus Democrats
40 Republicans 180 Repbublicans

Yep, I agree with voting them out too, including Harry (the war is lost) Reid and Nancy Pelosi.
