Today my oldest cat, Rocky, went to meet his brothers and sisters on The Bridge. He was 17 years old.

He'd stopped eating and had lost 2 more lbs.

RIP Little Rocket Man ~ until we meet again......:rose:

RIP. He lived a long, happy life. Maybe I'm wrong, but cats seem to live longer than dogs, by at least a few years. Anyone agree?

Thanks, everyone.

Mr. Noah and I were just saying that with all these animals in our house, we can still always tell when one is missing. :crying:

I sure do miss seeing him today. Every morning he'd sit on the counter and cry for his senior wet food. I couldn't do anything until he had his food!

He went downhill pretty quickly. When he stopped eating on Saturday, I knew. He'd lick up the gravy from his food, but wouldn't eat the solid chunks.

By Monday he was only interested in drinking water, which is typical of kidney failure.

He had a good life. I fostered him and his brother when they were just 5 weeks old. I couldn't give them up, so I adopted them. His brother went to The Bridge 4 years ago - now they're together.

Miss you, Little Rocket Man.

I'm so sorry. At least he had a nice, long life and like you said he's at The Bridge now with his brothers and sisters.
Rest in Peace, Rocky :rose:

Willow seems to miss him the most. She got her wet kitten food at the same time he got his wet Senior food - they ate off the same paper plate. Today she was looking for him at breakfast.

So many memories to cherish of your time with the Rocket Man
and the special place he holds in your heart.

The Arks's a little lighter these days,but Heaven's a little fuller.

This morning Latte' was sitting in the kitchen window looking out where we buried Moonshine and just cried trying to find him...broke my heart.:crying:

Awww - that's so sad.

I brought Rocky's collar home and laid it on the floor in our family room, so all the animals got a chance to smell it. When I get his ashes on Friday, I'll attach his collar and a picture of him to his little urn. :crying:

Oh, Noah. I'm so sorry to hear about Rocky.

I know he knew he was well loved, and taken care of in life...he couldn't have asked for a better mommy.

Yeah - little Rocket Man knew he was loved. I hope he knew my final act of love was to keep him from suffering.

He knew and you can bet he appreciated it. Wouldn't you if the roles were reversed? :rose:

I sure would. I've always said that I hope somebody is as kind to me when it's MY time.

I'm facing this right now, I hope I'm strong enough to do the right thing.

Today isn't the day, but Zee-Zee Top hasn't been well. She's also 17.

My deepest sympathies to Angellaw & Moonshine, also. These threads are a bit to much for me to face right now, but that doesn't mean I don't feel your pain or that you're not in my prayers.
