ST. JOHNS - The Apache County Superior Court Thursday set a sentencing date during a status conference for the 9-year-old boy who pled guilty to one count of negligent homicide.
Tuesday, Sept. 22, has been set aside for the juvenile's disposition hearing. The hearing will begin at 9:30 a.m. and could run all day. Before then, another status conference has been set for Thursday, Aug. 20, at 11:30 a.m.
The juvenile was arrested in November 2008 for allegedly shooting to death his father and 39-year-old Timothy Romans, a man who stayed with the family. The boy was 8 at the time.
In February, he pled guilty to one count of negligent homicide connected to the death of Romans. The charge relating to his father's death was dropped.
