Moonshine Needs Your Prayers PLEASE

I found Moonshine having some problems with his balance yesterday. I knew something was wrong, but I could not afford a "Emergency Vet Clinic" visit...$175.00 just to walk in the door.

So, I stayed up all night and made sure I got some water in him with a syring (sp?). I called the vet 1st thing this morning, she said to bring him in NOW.. i did..they think he has had a stroke (he is 5 y/o) :confused:...possible blood clot

They would keep him for 4 days for $675.00 and "see what they can do" ...I don't have that kind of $$ or animal insurance...iIquestioned my "options". She said I could put him to slepp, or they could give him 2 shots of "heperin" (sp?), and try to disolve any other clots.

I chose to do that, ..I bought him at least 24 hours...the vet said he is not in any pain...confused...but no pain.

O bropught him home, he l oves laying in Kringle's cage when Kringle is not in it, so Moon is laying comfortabley right noe. I need to try & give a little water every couple of hourse and we sjould know within 24 hours is he is going to come aroun.

Oh Goodness. A-Hem.. I forgot that part..he is family..but on the feline side. I saw his picture in April 2007 on a no kill shelter web site located 2 hours from here..(Allentown).he is just a regular old "brown/black tabby..(like they arn't a dime a dozen here in Lancaster).but his eyes spoke to me..I had to have him...My friend Boyd went with me and we rescued him...Bless his Heart...he has been a great friend...when I had my accident in 11/07, Moonshine was so scared...he ran away..diffenrt people coming in and going out to take care of my cats...I have 4..anyway...the day I came home from the hospital/PT Rehab... in Jan, 2008...Moonshine showed up at my door in the snow within 12 hours of me being home...he really is one h3ll of a cool cat...i love him dearly..my heart is so sad, I did just give him some more water..he took itlike a man...he is laying all "upside down", but he is not in any pain...he just chats back when I talk to him...

No, he was not dehydrated, ive been giving him water by a syringe about every hour or so, I asked if i should add any sugar, they said no..water was enough as long as he acceos it and so far so good.

Not sure if anyone remebers my 21 y/o cat "Dudy"...today is the 4th aniversary of his death..it's been an emotional day anyway..now Moonshine....

Thanks Willow, Moonshine was the one I fell in love with when I saw his pic on a no kill shelter site...Went all the way to Allentown for that crazy cat...I know he loved it with us and at last the short time we had him, he knew he was loved & spoiled rotten.

dg..thanks for the loving thoughts..I planted a pot full of seedling flowers I was growing into a smaller planter and put it on his grave with the egplant, crusifix and dream catcher.
