It was July 1st, 1975.
18-year-old Grammer was sitting in a car outside of a Red Lobster in Colorado Springs, when three men, including Freddie Glenn, tried to rob the restaurant. When that didn't work they kidnapped Grammer, thinking she could identify them. The men took turns raping her over four hours. They told her they were going to let her go, and dragged her from the car. It was then that Glenn slit her throat and left her.

This animal should never see the light of day outside of prison walls.

I saw an interview with KG and, I must say, if it is within his power to stop this killer from getting out, he will. I hope he's successful. The sad thing is it is not a one off thing - he'll have to keep attending parole hearings for the rest of his life.

Wow, I never ever heard of this story about Kelsey Grammer's sister.
What a horrific, god-awful experience....

This guy should rot in prison and die a horrible, painful death from some devastating form of cancer.....

I think that my brother would also continue to attend every parole hearing until the creep's death.... I have two brothers, but one has been incommunicado for years..... very sad....

As I recall, Kelsey Grammer's father and a brother also died either in an accident or another murder..I don't remember which. His family has really been decimated by tragedy.

Did everyone notice he has only served 10 years for Grammer's murder (and rape) and 20 years for TWO other homicides! He should be dead. He was sentenced to the DP. What an monster. He even looks like a monster, doesn't he? Maybe the publicity will influence the parole board, and they won't want the negative PR ***ociated with his release.

He's truly had a tragic life and risen above the adversity. The biography channel did a great job with his life story. If you haven't seen it you should watch for it.

His dad was shot to death in his own front yard when Kelsey was only 12. The shooter was never convicted, diminished capacity.

In 1980 two half brothers were killed in a scuba diving accident.

He's had some issues with alcohol and drugs, but it was really right around when his brothers died. He seems to have overcome that with the help of the Betty Ford Clinic.

So it was even worse than I remembered... That really does make me respect him for digging himself out of the drug/alcohol abyss.

I expect he'll focus all his energy on seeing to it that this animal never gets out of prison.

Therapeutic really, she's the only one he can fight for, the brothers weren't murdered and the decision was made when he was just a child regarding his dad.

It is sad he'll have to fight this battle again and again every time this waste of skin gets another shot at parole. But maybe it's the distraction that will keep him from falling back.

I wish him the best, I wish I could help.

I would like to think the parole board would do the right thing even without family members there..
I can't imagine what he will have to go thru each time this POS comes up for parole..
I agree he should be dead already.

Horrible. This POS can't possibly get parole! What an evil man.

My hope is the ONLY way this POS will EVER get out of prison is in a BODY BAG! I hope Kelsey is successful in keeping this animal locked up for the rest of his pathetic life! :cursing:

Let's hope the Parole Board does not let him out anyway!

Gosh, I am surprised. The interview I saw with him he was adamant that he was going to be there. I wonder what happened? Hopefully the Parole Board isn't going to let him out as, if past behaviour is a predicator of future behaviour, he'll kill again. JMO.

I hope they don't let him out also. But I wonder if Kelsey went to a meeting - and/or his sponsor suggested its time he let go and let GOD.......

Its alot of weight to carry around in this life - anger, resentment, etc.
I wish him well.
Let GOD do what, precisely? Just because God's divine forgiveness may extend to hardened criminals doesn't mean that we ordinary people have to let them out of prison to prey on additional victims. What happens to this guy's soul is up to God, but what happens with this guy's body is up to the Parole Board. Anger and resentment are completely beside the point - this multiple murderer/rapist is dangerous! He was sentenced to death under the old laws! He should not be eligible for parole just because the laws changed and he can't be executed under the new laws!

I think Mr. Grammer would have more peace of mind knowing that the hardened criminal who raped and murdered his sister (and 2 other people) was not paroled. I think knowing that he could have done anything more in his power to prevent the parole of this monster, would weigh very heavily on him particularly if this monster targeted additional victims. He had announced publicly that he was planning to attend the parole hearing. It seems more likely that his failure to attend was due to some circumstance (health? emotional breakdown? physical injury?) outside his control than that his failure to attend was intended to demonstrate forgiveness or to support the criminal's application for parole.

This case should show any parole board why they should never free someone who had been given the DP and had it reversed to life with the possibility of parole.

I am thankful Freddie Glenn was denied parole yesterday.

Unfortunately, the murderer, Freddie Glenn, gets another chance in only 5 more years. It really is a waste of time and money for this 3-time savage killer. [JMO *Themis*]

Respectfully snipped for bandwidth...

ITA with every word, KatPrint! I will NEVER understand those states who abolish the DP and do not automatically commute the DP sentences to LWOP. California did it with the Manson gang, and it makes no sense!

Alrighty then. I guess we can rest assured that you are not a member of any 12 step program.

I'm not a member of any 12 step program either, but it's always been my understanding that the amends that need to be made are with anyone who suffered as a result of the person with the addiction. Here's step 8 and 9:

Step 8 - Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all
Step 9 - Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others

I don't see where Kelsey Grammer owes this monster any kind of mercy. In fact it appears to me that step 9 clearly states that to show mercy would potentially endanger other innocent people. This man was sentenced to die for the senseless torture and murder of an innocent girl. I believe that Grammer shows up at every parole hearing (taking into account that he had a legitimate reason to miss this one). If his celebrity keeps even one person safe by keeping this man behind bars, more power to him.
