Last night as Annabel and I were in bed, I became very thirsty and sipped from my cold bottle of water. I thought what is Annabel wants a drink or a snack in the middle of the night. She can't tell me. She must have read my mind. About 3:30 AM she woke me up and I thought she needed to go outside. She has woken up in the middle of the night to go out but not for awhile. I got up to let her out the sliding door in my bedroom, but she kept going to the door to the hallway. I opened the door and we went into the kitchen (another sliding door that she goes out duing the day). In stead of going outside, she ate the rest of the dog food that was in her dish. She got munchies in the middle of the night and was able to get some food.

Sooo, maybe dogs don't need to talk.

SO - umm - she likes company while she dines? Or why did she wake you up?

I believe she needed someone to open the hallway door.

I can understand that, I keep my bedroom door closed at night, Dakota would need me to open it for him until recently. He learned to open it himself, I had to put child proof door knob covers on the front and back door. That dog is scary smart. lol

Perhaps you need a baby!

Babies Can Comprehend 'Canine' Language

"We think babies have a broad-based set of abilities and skills when they enter the world," he said. "And those become broadened and honed based on the individual experiences in their lives."

Flom spends his time studying how babies perceive emotions, and previously found that they can tell the difference between upbeat and gloomy music.

Saving this link, both of my boys are getting married. If those grandbabies don't start coming before I'm old enough to share their food with them, I may use it as an enticement. lol
