Just as Obama intensifies his efforts to fulfill a campaign promise and reach an agreement with Congress on health care reform, the number of Americans who say they trust the president has fallen from 66 percent to 54 percent. At the same time, the percentage of those who say they do not trust the president has jumped from 31 to 42.

Just as faith in the president has slipped since March, so, too, has trust in much of his agenda.

Roughly, the typical decline.

Initial numbers were not that unusual, decline isn't either. Neither will the low numbers before the next big electoral "change."

Taking into account the biased media, that's something. When (and if) he falls below 50%, it would be interesting to see how the media would handle this news...or would the remain silent on that news....

Oh you know if he dropped below 50%- there is a certain media outlet that would jump for joy and call it Breaking News......

imo...Then they would proceed to exaggerate, lie, and imply all kinds of things because of it. They went to court to make sure they could do all the above listed because after all they are a News Show not actual news. imo

Just checked at Gallup. Seems to me that 61% approval rating isn't something to get in a snit about. And his average for last month was 62%.

Overall 62% second-quarter average compares favorably to immediate predecessorshttp://www.gallup.com/poll/121790/Obama-Job-Approval-Trends-Downward-Second-Quarter.aspx

Given the mess he inherited, even though I don't agree with everything, overall, I think he has done a very good job so far.

I don't think you are right. JMO

What about the love affair with all the other outlets? It's dismal. Not even jourdalism any longer.

Obama is where Carter was at the same time in his presidency.

And we know how that ended up. As bad as it was, at least we always knew Carter was a sincere man.

How can you tell?

It is my gut feeling about him after listening to him and seeing how he operates. I bet he doesnt get caught with his pants down in the white house, another country or anywhere else for that matter. he is a good man and person in my opinion. He sincerely imo has country first attitude.
