I liked Glenn until he called Sonia a few names. I have not watched him since and probably won't be doing so in the future.

I think our parties need to come closer to the center and IMO Beck is not helping the gop at all. It appears to me that beck is not stable as in the full deck of cards metaphor.

My opinion is he lost it a long time before he picked up the Healthcare call. I was floored that Fox Entertainment Station gave him a job. Apparently they didn't watch him on CNN.
I agree, but that call really leaves no doubt - jmho

I really like his show both now and when he was at CNN as he always gave his opinions. After all he is an independant voter but perhaps some would love him to just be a Democrate and believe all the crap they are thowing to the public.

He can have any opinion that he cares to, and people are free to listen. However it would be nice if he and the others who share his opinions could give them without screaming and calling those who don't agree with him "pinheads."

Is it any better to call those with whom you disagree the "worst person of the week"?
Depends..........has the person in question put themselves out into the public eye and done something to earn that title..........like Limbaugh, O'Reilly and others.......or are they just a caller to a show that solicits calls and says that they supposedly wants to hear the opinions of others, and instead of listening and respectfully disagreeing screech that the caller is a "pinhead?"

What exactly is "this stuff"?
you tell me, I don't like this kinda stuff

You keep saying how others like this stuff and I don't know what you mean by it.
They are your words but now you don't know what your own words mean?
Alrighty then.....carry on. I will consider your words meaningless since even you don't know.
did you listen to to link? listen to this stuff for yourself..... why do I need to describe to you what you can hear for yourself?

Absolutely - I read the transcript the other day too.
I asked you because I don't know if your idea of "this stuff" is the same as mine. I can't have a discussion if I don't know where you are coming from and was attempting to find out.
well please do describe this stuff for us then, I thought hearing it for ones self was enough

Good grief - you continuely used the words "this stuff".
Whatever you think it means, I heard a man who was passionate and knowledgeable about his beliefs.
I heard a man that was rude, mean and sounded like he was losing it....
so now we know what this stuff means to each of us

I think it is a bit unfair to call him a liar when there are reports out such as these -

I just wrote a long reply but was booted out so in a synopsis.
1. never heard of the term "lottery" But when the woman spoke of other sountries socialized med and Glenn stated well Canada has a lottery system implies that is how out systems works it is not. So was he lying? perhaps not technically for that one headline BUT his implication that is how our system works and not to clarify or put in context was.
2. Yes docs here have been known to interview new patients.
3. You can wak into any private clinic (means doctor owned but services render paid by the government). You get xrays, blood work all free.
4. Your private insurance pays for meds, appliances (crutches ect) and around $40.00 for ambulance. I pay less than $14 month for private insurance for a family. Can be any amount of people in the family 2-10 and above but must be immediate family.
5. Specialist can be difficult to see right away. DH had to wait 6 months, but it was not life and death and if it is you are in right way
6. Lack of MRI's big problem but if you require one you get in. DH has spinal problems. After seeing specialist, in for surgery 4 weeks later and has had 8 MRI's pre surgery, post surgery and ongoing issues" in 12 months. The machine work 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
7. Have heard some Canadians head to the US for quicker service. Yes, re knee replacement, hip replacements are faster there but you have to have the funds to do it. And many of these people try to get our healthcare to refund them the expenses once they return home. Can not talk to whether they get money returned I don't know. In Canada you cannot jump the que. Most dire seen 1st.
8. 3 family members had/have cancer. All seem by specialist within 1 month,, surgery for , breast, colo rectal and brain had surgery within the next 2 weeks. Chemo and radiation follow. No waiting.
Not saying our system is perfect. There will always be people who fall through the cracks in a system, healthcare or not, but I would rather have socialized medicine, warts and all not just for those who can afford it.

Well, geez... if a person calls in to a nationally televised TV show, I guess that put him/her into the public eye.
No........there is a huge difference between someone that calls in to a tv or rdio show, and someone who has a daily platform to air his opinions, and gets a hefty paycheck to do so.
And if, like FOX for instance, you advertise yourself as "fair and balanced" screaming at someone that doesn't agree with your opinions and calling them names, as many of the TH on FOX do on a regular basis (when the even bother with the opposing view) just proves that the very last thing you're interested in is being "fair and balanced."
JMO, naturally.

Thanks Pretty Leaf. I get awfully tired of hearing all about how lousy the Canadian system is from people that have no clue how it actually works, since they don't live in Canada.
As for the wait times, from what I've been given to understand, they are no worse than the wait times here in the states. It's the same here.......the person that is hurt the worst, or who's life is in danger goes first, and the person who can wait, waits. The biggest difference is that the care won't cost you an arm and a leg, if you can't afford to pay out of pocket expenses, or can't afford care or have inadequate insurance.

I recently got an email apparently circulating to scare people to death about how we might get to be like Canada; and it starts out talking about how Natasha Richardson died because it took 8 hours to get her to the hospital in Canada. I'm from Canada - and I've been to Mt. Temblant. It didn't seem that far away from a hospital. So sure enough I investigated. Y'all might remember at the ski area she turned the waiting ambulance away without letting the ENTs evaluate her (that was the really sad part, I think) thinking she was OK - and it was later at her hotel that she began feeling bad.
They called an ambulance and it took 9 minutes to get to her - they worked on her and left for the hospital and 3:42 pm - and was being treated in the Ste Agathe Hospital at about 4:25 pm. That is all the time it took.
SO watch out folks - I imagine the insurance companies - along with Glenn Beck and others will be gearing up for more and more scare campaigns.... check their facts every time! They will lie, lie, lie!
I live near MT. Tremblant 2 hours away. This report of the time it took to get her medical attention was so bogus. What really happened and what the likes of Nancy Grace says happened was polar opposites. Watching Canadian coverage then watching CNBC or Fox you had to wonder if it was the same story.

Did anyone see when Glenn Beck received whoop-a$$ from Whoopy on "the view." As TYT said….Beck is a serial liar / exaggerator. When you hear beck say something, there is 20% chance he is telling the truth and 80% chance he is lying.... It is madness.
Whoopi sitting across the table from beck said "You are a lying sack of dog mess."

Yeah, whoopi and bawa lied through their teeth to make him look like a liar a few weeks ago. Funny how when AMtrak confirmed Becks version of events that you didn't hear the ladies on the view squawking about that.

Here is another time that beck completely lost it with a caller. It is about 3/4 of the way thru the video at link below. This guy is not stable, IMO.

You just proved the point that this is something Glenn has been doing for years....I have heard it numerous times myself.
IMO - he is not "losing it" - he is in total control of when, where and how he decides to use this as an entertainment tool while making the point that he is talking to someone who says something totally stupid.
so are you saying being mean and rude just comes natural to the man?

She was not stupid, although becasue she has a take on the topic opposite to him, he yells and screams and makes points that lead the public to believe his set of fact. He is very cagey. Use to like him on HLN but if you really listen to him he uses tidbits of something and puts itout there as truth.
As for the View incident he had to backpeddle when he stated that Barbara talked to him. He had to admit that that was a lie.

Mean and rude were your descriptions of the man, not mine.
I find him entertaining, passionate, knowledgeable and provacative.
Some people "get" him, others don't.
watch the video again, not sure how you missed the mean and rude, but sure you will catch it the second time around
