Are you still happy with your decision? You don't even have to leave a comment. Just curious.

I am very happy he won. I voted for him and am glad I did. He is changing our nation for the better even if there is a certain percentage of the population so afraid of change they will say anything about the new president. It is shameful. But he is boss now and he is the decider and he is way more qualified in my eyes than anybody else presented to us. IMO

Yes, still happy. He's been in office 6 months. I don't think McCain would have done any better with the economy or wars inherited from Bush, and I am very refreshed by his outlook and ideas. He's doing well, IMO, and in spite of general GOP opposition to everything he tries to do.
I wonder if the rooting out of crooks in Wall Street would have occurred with McCain. I also wonder if the prolonged discussions about torture and black ops would have occurred. I also wonder who he would have picked for a Supreme Court nominee. And if Karl Rove and Rush Limbaugh would be still hanging around the Oval Office.

Couldn't be happier!
He's got to work within the system, and I know it takes time to do things right.

in order for a poll like this to work it can't be private or all the anti-Obama folks will vote and skew the results
and yes, I am very happy with my decision to vote for Obama

And so am I.
ITA with you about how the anonymity allows the results to be skewed. Maybe the next poll will be the kind that shows the way each poster voted.

I understand about your views with McCain. I just don't think our system is working any longer. How many times have people complained that there were never a good choice presented?
I believe we have to think about seeing another party coming in and becoming the "middle ground." The two parties are beginning to look extreme.

Very happy with my decision to vote for Obama, OUR nation didn't get to this point in 6 months and most people don't expect it to be turned around in 6 months, wether you voted for him or not. He is not a miracle worker, there is only ONE of those. So maybe instead of all the complaining we should all be doing more praying to the All Mighty One that can perform Miracles. Just My Opinion

Of course I'm happy with having voted for President Obama. He's been in office six months . I'm not expecting my feelings to change. I feel proud of my President for the first time in a long time.
Why do you ask?
I said I was just curious.

Re: post #10
IMO only: it is because the people who did not vote for him want to believe that those that did at least some of them are hating on Obama now because of all the things he has done, hasn't done, will do etc. They do not and will not ever understand change and all it takes to make change. As a civilized nation it is time to have healthcare for all not just those who can afford it. It will take time but our country will make this transition and those who oppose it will just have to swallow it as I and millions of others swallowed a war that should have never been. Go Obama!!! imo

Probably since shortly after Washington was sworn into office.
As for extremism, that's something else that's probably always been around, but IMO, the last administration is the first that deliberately pandered to that extreme portion of their own party, and gave them a broader platform to bring that extrenism into the mainstream. While politics has always been a very rough game, the level of hate is even worse than when Nixon was president.

Your post gave me a laugh. You start off with others are dishonest in who they say they vote for, followed by your statement of who you voted for (to be taken as honest after you point out dishonesty but only in others). LOL
Which pretty much nullifies the entire thread before it much got started. LOL

After reading Lisa's post I have this mental image of all US voters under one giant circus tent raising their hands at the next Presidential election. Yes, I vote for him! Show of hands! While something akin to church ushers start counting at ONE. But would it end up like the chad thing down in Florida when Bush & Gore were against each other. Is the hand up or down? Wait, it was an elbow I think. No, just a wrist perhaps. I say it's an upturned arm. No wait....

the vote is private, I could of said one thing and voted another, my point exactly, my guess those no votes were all republicans that did not vote for Obama to begin with
