Maybe the mother should have to pay him back... tho I will say ~ if he is still part of the childs life and has been acting as a father and treating the child as one... I'm torn.

I'm so sick of women like this. They want other men to pay them child support when they know they are not the real fathers.

In my opinion, the woman should have to pay the man back, all of the child support he has been paying for a kid that was not his. She was deceitful and tried to make him think it was his in the beginning.

I think cases like this suck, frankly. They are the ultimate betrayals. Some of these women know perfectly well the man is not the father but will remain mum and either stay married to some of these men who think the children he is helping to raise are his own when they aren't or they will divorce or separate if they were never married yet the woman will make the father pay child support for a child or children that are not even his.

Even those who pay for DNA testing and prove they are not the bio father still are told by the courts they are responsible for the child support. It makes no sense. It punishes the one that has already been lied to..... sometimes for many years and lets the real bio deadbeat dad get off Scott free without any responsibility for a child he helped create.

The courts in most states look at it as to what is in the best interest of the children and if they have have been with the non kin father for any length of time then the court feels the man remains the father in the children's eyes and determines they are still responsible for their child support.

I think the law is archaic. If the DNA shows a man did not father a child then they should determine who the real father is and make him pay all the child support he has never paid according to how old the child is up to age 18. Instead of the man who was lied to all those years.

Now if the non kin father has been in the children's life long enough to be bonded to the child then he should have the right to continue that relationship if he and the children desire it but he should not have to pay because some woman said he was the father and most of the time they know full well they weren't. It is a form of entrapment imo.

Can you imagine the shock and pain if you learned the child you have loved and raised really isn't even your child?

I feel so much sympathy for these men and there are a lot of them being victimized by these scurrilous women. And I feel so sorry for these children who are caught up in it by the deceitful acts of their mother.
