5-year-old Nevaeh may have been buried alive, autopsy results reveal

Nevaeh Buchanan – the 5-year-old Monroe girl who was kidnapped, killed and buried on the banks of the River Raisin under a layer of concrete – might have been buried alive, results from an autopsy indicate.

The girl’s cause of death has been ruled asphyxiation; the manner, homicide, a source told the Free Press.

Testing on the girl’s body, including her lungs, show that she died after inhaling dirt.

I'm glad I don't have to make the rules. I would not want the weight of the evil I would do to the person who did this on my soul.
The only consolation is that I know she is no longer in any pain and is on the hands of God now.

LE needs to get on over and interview John Coey and find out just who he thinks might have done this. This is the same manner of death ect...as Jessica.

Owing to the idea that 'birds of a feather flock together' perhaps since we, as a society are paying to keep the one piece of filth alive, he can give SOMETHING back to society by assisting police in getting into the mind of 'whatever' killed this little girl.

Notice I do not say 'whoever'. This is not a who. It's a what.

Also, keep in mind there haven't been any toxicology results released as of yet so we don't know if she was CONSCIOUS when she died so let's pray she was not and just happened to breathe in. I just can't even think about this.

I am praying and i believe that she was already unconcsious when placed there. It seems more likely that the perp thought she was dead? because he would have had to wait for the concrete to harden and if she was struggling that would have been a problem. its not like a foot of earth where it wouldnt be.

I am just stunned and I wish somehow I could numb my feelings when things like this are learned but I cant. I wish that my heart couldn't break anymore than it has for Nevaeh, Jessica and other children like them, but it does.

I am very curious though if they found any evidence that Nevaeh had been sexually molested or had genital trauma.

Why, I don't really know but for some reason I have felt LE all along was on the wrong trail from the beginning. If someone strangled Nevaeh then is the killer sitting right in their midst? Strangling without molestation could be done by anyone who was with her at the time and done out of anger and rage.

Who is supposed to have seen Nevaeh last?

God help all of our defenseless children.

I think thats a good idea Charlie. I think they did that with Bundy. He said the killer probably comes back to see his tropies and to have sex, and sure enough he was right on. Im shaking as Im typing. Im so upset.

Samples removed from apartment where slain girl lived

Monroe -- Investigators in the Nevaeh Buchanan murder case are focusing on carpet fibers taken from the slain 5-year-old's apartment to see if they match fibers found on her body, neighbors and relatives said Wednesday.

Brittany Green, who lives in the Charlotte Arms Apartments, where Nevaeh lived, said police have been in and out of the complex in recent weeks gathering evidence, including swatches of brown carpet.

"They took pieces of carpet from the apartment (Tuesday), I think," said Green, 21. "I see detectives coming in and out of the building all the time. One time they were carrying big brown bags out of here."

HLN did say the carpet was more than likely the same and she had been in both apartments so it would be hard to say the fibers found on her had anything to do with either apartment....

Aaron Baker said Wednesday that officers cut out a piece of the tan carpet from the apartment where his 8-year-old son, Austin, played with Nevaeh just hours before the little girl disappeared.
"That way they had something to run a test on," he said from the apartment across the hall and one floor up from the Buchanans' apartment.

I am just wondering how she could have been buried alive she was in a shallow grave unlike little Jess L. I don't even want to think about it but I am wondering if she was on her belly and just inhaled the dirt I heard on one station her clothing was not on her..ugh I hate this and do not even want to say it..but alot of times if they know the child they can not look at them and I do not think this was a stranger to this child..they have not released if she was sexually assaulted I just can not understand the buried alive we all saw the place she was she would have had to of been out very confusing to me..I think the baby struggled and was being held down and breathed in the dirt they had a body of water right there why not drowned her..OK sorry I feel ill thinking about this..how in the H** COULD ANYONE DO THIS....:cursing:

I also think this Baker guy needs to stop allowing his son to see her picture on the computer it is not healthy if he is breaking down he needs some counseling by the sound of it...JMO

The Monroe County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday that Nevaeh Buchanan either was buried alive or had her face forcibly pressed into dirt by another person. The autopsy could not determine the exact manner of death.

I also thought immediately of little Jessica when I read this. Do they have any ideas or leads on who did this? Seems like every day we have yet another child suffering at the hands of a monster.
