Please say a prayer for me. I am disabled and usually do pretty good at staying out of the dumps with the help of a small amount of antidepressants. But it has been about a month now that I cannot seem to pick myself up. Ironically, it was earlier in the year when lots of stuff was going on to drag me down. I don't know if this is just delayed reaction or what.
I do believe in the power of prayer though so please remember me in the next few weeks.

You'll be in my prayers...
My hubby is disabled and has bouts of depression off & on, too. I agree with Lavinia - an appt with your doctor couldn't hurt.

I'm already scheduled for my quarterly check on August 4th. I am trying to hold on until then. Thanks for the advice, though.
I am going to try to get myself on a regular schedule this week and MAKE myself get up if only to move to the recliner.

Lots of good thoughts, healing white light & prayers coming your way. I would suggest you give your doctor a call to see if you could get an earlier appt. Let them know you are having problems.

Hi Withay... Hang in there! You will get through this.., one step at a time. Give your doc a call and see if you can get in earlier though.. and make sure you eat healthy, drink lots of water and try to get a bit of excercise - that picks me up when I'm in the dumps. But seriously, call your doc....

I've been there and you must try to get help sooner than later. A body can build up resistance to the amount of meds you are on, so check it out.
Secondly a brain is a very tricky organ. Things from the past have a habit of showing up at a later date. Sometimes years later. I don't know your circumstances but PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) is very real.
Hope you get into the doc.

Thanks for all of the response. I see one of my Drs next Tues. I called the internist and he has verbally upped my med a little bit and I am feeling better. Still draggy but the heat has been rough. This next week is supposed to be 10 degrees cooler all week so maybe that will help, too.

I'll keep you in good thoughts withay. I know how bad it can get.
It's day by day and a lot of the time, when things get really rough, things go minute by minute.
Keep with the baby steps and don't try to push yourself.
Medications are touchy, they work different on different people and in some cases, medication (antidepresants) can make things a whole LOT worse then they already are.
If you are able to go outside, even just to sit, I encourage you to do that. The fresh air and sun really helps.
Maybe add some vitamin D to your diet and see if that helps some.

Oh good! I was hoping the doctor would increase your meds - at least until you can get in for an appt.
The heat NEVER helps - it will suck the life out of a person!! :cursing:
