I am switching channels like a mad person. Tiger's hosting the Congressional Tournement and its terrific. Anthony Kim is one of my favorites and Furyk, and Tiger, and just about all the guys. Looking forward to the President's Cup this fall.
At the same time, the Tour starts today in Monacco which is like a fairyland. Love both events, although I do have friends who call it watching paint dry. Not for me and in both events, something is happening all the time. Any other cycling fans here and of course, we know there are lots of golfing fans.:thumbup::thumbup:

I've got the golf on now, I think I'll have to catch up on the rest later tonight. This is always a good tournament. Kim is great, glad to see him playing well this week.

Isn't he terrific? Great smile like Tiger. Can't miss tomorrow cause he and Tiger are in the last group. Serona and Venus were wonderful to day, too. Those girls are so talented and so nice. Right now, I am watchin a Master's Tennis Series repeat. It's Andre Aggasi and Lopez. I miss Andre a lot and all the best to Roddick tomorrow. Hope Jimmy Connors shows up for the final. This is a lot more fun then politics. Really looking forward to the President's Cup at Harding with Freddy coaching.

Should be some great golf, however, don't be surprised to see rain. The weather forecast for my area tomorrow is for rain, so the DC area may face the same.

I think Couples is great and should do a fabulous job with the Presidents Cup. I am also really looking forward to it.

Nathan's Hot Dog stand had a record breaking competition today!

Not exactly a sport, tho.
I watched a little of that during the tennis breaks. How about the difference is sizes of those folks? The announcer called it a sport. Subscribing to the Golf Channel was one smart move on my part cause not only do we have the golf but all those other channels.

Man can this guy get hit with much more...

His mother had surgery at the same hospital that Amy did last week.

Prayers for both of them for a full recovery..

SAN DIEGO - Six weeks after Phil Mickelson announced his wife had breast cancer, his mother was diagnosed with the disease and is to have surgery later this week.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reported on its Web site that Mary Mickelson discovered she had breast cancer last week. She is to have surgery Friday at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, the same hospital where Mickelson’s wife, Amy, had surgery last Wednesday.

Mickelson’s sister, Tina, told the newspaper she wanted to make her mother’s condition know so she could receive the same outpouring of support and prayers that meant so much to Amy Mickelson.

See the mini Arc De Triumph in Montpellar? Great. I have a friend whose son was stationed in Germany. The traveled almost a day to the race, were at their roadside spot at 4AM to reserve their good "seats". About 11AM, the Tour came whizzing by and it was over in a few minutes. The Tour, Golf, the Winter Olympics has grown in popularity as they are TV Sports. I love them all. I saw Lance once and he is a tiny, well not tiny but about 5"9 and a thin guy. Fifteen years ago, the Tour was shown on ESPN at midnight for fifteen minutes.

I remember those days! Lance lost his upper body bulk with the cancer, prior to that, he actually had some mass, as he was a triathlete first......He is now in second place, as Astana won the TTT today, Lance is .022 seconds behind the Yellow Jersey!!!

Looks like he has taken over the leadership role. Did you see the guys coming up to shake his hand. Whatever it is, he sure can ride the Tour race. What happened to Discovery?

I don't blame Discovery or any other sponser for pulling out. Thanks for the info. The doping thing is a pain in the neck. One day, we got exciting stuff going on and the next, they are out on their keesters. I don't trust the French Labs and poor Flloyd got robbed, in my opinion on one test of testerone which in no way enhances performance. Actually, do viewers favor and let the riders take what they want, its their lives they are playing around with here. I was a true fan of the Tour for 20plus years but I don't care about the riders now. I have been disappointed enough by the ongoing drama about folks getting kicked out. I watch the Tour mainly to see the Towns, cities, hamlets and country side now.

Ah, the history!! Love it.....The Cannibal, The Pirate, lots of good memories with the tour..My all time favorite stage is Alpe d'Huez, with it's 21 switchbacks! The only time there has been a TT there was 2004. Lance won it.
Didn't Lance ride off the road of one switchback, went down the grass to another switchback on the road? I think a rider fell in front of him and to avoid falling, he went down the grass.

You're thinking of stage nine from Bourg d'Oisans to Gap, in the 2003 Tour...........Here's a video!!

Terrific video, thanks. The Tour is riding along the Mediterraian Sea today through ancient towns and villages. Looking forward to Barcelona. Lance is doing great and the Tour sure seems to be "his" thing. We will get a grand tour of the city which I have not seen a lot of since the Olympics, years ago.

Barcelona, beautiful even in the rain!!!! Lance still second....Pyrenees Mts tomorrow!:scared:
Beautiful. The modem got sick and while the computer guy was fixing it this AM, I had the Tour on. He was astonished. Never saw it before.
The Mountains, towns, hamlets, the mountain road, swithbacks and Cols almost beyond belief. The breakaways are so much fun. Everyone is riding along, riding along and suddenly "here come the bees". What an event. OMGosh, is Lance in first place? And the kid that won yesterday with one of the biggest upsets in Tour history.
