It is getting pretty sick. I wonder if Al and Jessie have killed each other yet. Who will give the sermon, who is first, who is last. Uggggg
And the biggest question, will they let JOE speak???? :scared:
I sure hope not I do not want to hear about his new project 1 more time..and the other 2 I will just bite my tongue since so many look up to them..

I was born and raised in Indiana-- left when I turned 19 years old to California and never moved back. My entire family is scattered all over the state, with the exception of Gary, IN
lol
no offense if you live in Gary, IN... ok.....
I've never been there but it can't be that bad. They did make a song out of it. It that Ron Howard?

If they have a open casket I will not be watching I do not think that is what MJ would want and that should be for a private service IMO
I can picture all of the rationalizations and justifications as to why they will do this--- One right off the top of my head is how much Michael loved to be on stage and how much he loved his fans... which we have heard over & over in his interviews that this is true-- just not real sure he would want to be put on display in death.
Since they will more than likely be ticketing for the event I am pretty sure the tickets would sell for more $$$$$
if Michael is available for viewing.
I just don't think I have ever in my entire life heard of any funeral or memorial service where tickets were sold. I just think this is whacko.

I thought the open glass casket at NL was gross, but at least NL had some semblance of memories or something, I don't know, I knew the people of Santa Barbara would hate it. But, at least there was some kind of decorum or connection. The Staples Center with a fee just goes beyond anything I have ever heard of. These people need a good PR person, cause they are really losing a lot of people that have might have been on their side. NOT me any more. Have a private service at Forest Lawn or somewhere. I don't really care about the "fans". Bury the man with some dignity.

Are people actually going to have to pay or are the tickets for first come, first in the Staple Center?

he said he had already talked to Joe about a museum where the house they lived in which is sitting empty before MJ even passed away..I just hate him calling MJ their son..he is not Gary Indiana's son..they need to bring in money is what it is all about I have heard alot about him not that he is a horrible person but our State Rep well did not have much to say about the whole thing..sorry but that is just MO

I am trying to say this with as much class as I can but after a week the body doesn't look to good. It has lost all it's fluids and begins to shrink and turn grayish green. Even the embalming fluid doesn't help. There is just no way to make them look good. I want to remember that active body and that beautiful smile.

yeah I hope you are right..I remember Dr Perper kept telling them if they did not get all the hearings and fighting over ANS burial place then there was not much he could do to have her casket open..and of course IIRC it was closed and her I am sure would loved to have a open casket..not MJ though..

Joe will be at the front gate collecting all the cash, while he places his minions at the parking lot entrance for additinol parking fees.
I do think Staples would be a safe place for the memorial due to traffic control and public safety... I just think this ticketing to be determined is nuts.

It's very hard to find a place that is safe today, there has never been a murder where I'm living so far. I hope it stays that way. It took me 2 years to find it. Moving from S. Florida it is such a change. I still lock my doors and windows, and keep the alarm on most people around her laugh at me, I told them I come from a place that if you leave your windows open you could wake up to a stranger in your room.

Well I'm not a mortician but I've been to plenty of funerals and some of the departed were more that 7 days old and they didn't look good at all. I stopped looking after awhile. I would just stay toward the back. I'm allergic to formaldehyde and that gave me asthma and that stuff smells.

You bet we'd hate it. There are additional logistical problems due to the location and the time of year. No matter what though, our last memories of him were of the trial and his stating he never wanted to come back. That entire "circus" left a very bad taste in our mouths.
I agree that having it at Neverland would have been more of a class act, but since when have the Jackson's shown any class, especially Joe? The best thing at this point would be to go without the memorial, if they can hold a walking public viewing ala Eva Peron.

Ratings! That comes first and the lives they destroy means nothing.
If the Jackson's would have had the funeral already some of this would not be dragging out with 'no new news' to report. The media is filling in with gossip until they can get the coverage on the funeral. I hope the family is sheltering the children from the news. They have enough to cope with right now, and the biological parents will be another hurdle for them later on.

This is the name I was asking about earlier...who says she is the mother of his child Blanket
GRACE: To Natisha Lance, who is this woman, and I`m not talking about Debbie Rowe, that is coming forward and saying she is the mother of at least one of those children. I assume it`s Blanket, Prince Michael II.
NATISHA LANCE, NANCY GRACE PRODUCER: That`s right. Her name is Nona Paris Lola Jackson, Nancy. She`s out of the British -- she`s out of Britain. She`s saying that
She also wants to be -- gain custody of the children. Now this is not the first time that she has filed papers in this type of manner. She also filed papers back in December of 2008. The judge said that you need more evidence to show that you are the mother of these children.
GRACE: I`ve got her documents right here in front of me where she is claiming that she`s the mother of the minor children. OK. So we already see people coming out of the woodwork making these claims. The only way to verify or disprove her claim is going to be a DNA test.
Out to Ellyn Gamberg, psychotherapist joining us out of New York. Doctor, thank you for being with us. Getting all lost in this are his three children and what they are going through right now. One of them, apparently, seeing their father drop to the floor.
ELLYN GAMBERG, PSYCHOTHERAPIST: Nancy, this is -- this whole experience is so devastating. And there are so many factors. Not just actually losing their father, seeing their father, I hope that all these kids are not watching television -- to the claims of who are their parents.

I would rather remember the innocent days when he was child- when performing was still new and fun (Joe aside)
I want to remember the REAL Michael before he started changing himself..
May I just add that while the Dr.s who fed him the drugs should be brought to light and face the music so should any and every Doctor who continued to give in to Michael's need for more cosmetic surgeries.

When it comes to that family, especially Joe, they don't do anything that won't bring them money. Another option would have been a televised memorial without the viewing to keep the lookie-loos out and not charge anything. They could even have remote TVs set up around Los Angeles. Handle it with dignity (and crowd control) like England did with Princess Diana.

Off the Wall is my favorite album from MJ. It was a fresh start and new direction for him, away from Motown, with the great Quincy Jones producing. Michael quickly shed his teenybopper image with this album. Oh, and he looked really good and healthy on the cover:

According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Perper was dropped accidentally on his head by his aunt when he was a small child and a blood clot thickened part of his skull, resulting in his uniquely-shaped head.

I think these new (old) attnys. can handle Joe. I sure hope so. I think a judge would see right trough Joe. In fact all the Attny's would have to do is show the judge the BET award interview.
 talk about evidence of your priorities. dead son or new record label.
My concern is they are going to use Katherine as the front. It won't be joe, it will be katherine and her "attorney" who i bet is hired by joe
imo
My bold above is the KEY to all of this funeral/memorial change of plans. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
never heard of paying for a funeral. It might be to manage security tho. Can you imagine the crush of people racing to get in the front rows? what i mean is that it might not be tickets as in dollar amount, OR it could be to pay for all the extra LE security
I hope he's able to stay off the drugs for his mom. She suffered so much. Ryan made his other son stay outside.
why????? re the other son
As a service should be.
Now the MJ service....we can charge $$$ and make it a total joke. What a abomination. I thought the funeral of ANS was over the top. This will be much, much worse. What a way to leave this world. Bring on Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. SAD.
cinder did you feel the same way about elvis's funeral?

I have not read the entire thread here but I have read what some of the posts and I have a question.
Do any of else know the reason why Michael had plastic surgery to begin with? We heard most of the rumors during prior times but just recently I read where it is being claimed that his father's name for him was "Big Nose". Now that in itself made me start to think about it. What if he started getting plastic surgery because of the teasing he had endured from his father? We know that Joe Jackson admitted to "whipping" the boy. Isn't it true that the abused always tries to do things that would get them acceptance from the abuser? And if this was truly the reason, how did the media contribute to it all by calling him a freak or whacko? I would have hoped that the media would have learned a lesson, apparently it did not.
On another site is a few videos where Jackson is showing some happiness. In one of the he states that when he toured it was pure hell for him. The interviewer or manager said that he really couldn't say that during an interview. So in the next shot, he started to say that touring was great ! Now why didn't they allow him to tell things like it was? But yet we judge without knowing the full facts.
I hope he has found his peace now. He was a great performer and there will never be another like him again.

Between "Off the Wall" until his death, the changes this adult man underwent were scary, and very sad. IMO this type of medicine should result in a loss of license, irregardless of whether the patient files a formal complaint.
G Morning All,
I agree with this, right after then is when the changes started and the sad part is he was really nice looking. In looking at the old video's the changes seem to be gradual at first, just a little and more so eye makeup and you know their were alot like C Lopper, B George and even Prince that went for that distinct look but he just kept getting worse. I have always thought that somewhere at the beginning that it was plastic surgery that went wrong and was never able to be fixed right.

You don't remember his mug shot? he already looked like a thing of nightmares.
The image I have of Michael now seems to be one of the last photos taken of him when he was preparing to do his latest tour.
All the other images through the years have just gone away and when I think of him I visually see him in his see through purple/jacket and he has a nice smile taken a couple of days before his death.
I think MJ lost his way along with way on his looks somehow but at the end realized the image of him when he was in his prime as a young adult dynamic entertainer is who the fans fell in love with to begin with.
I do agree if any Doctor was reckless in their medical treatment of him they should be held accountable.

I've had 3 surgeries and have no idea what I was given and felt horrible afterwards. One of them when my surgeon came to see me - told me I was talking like a sailor. Never told me what I said and I have no recollection of it. Horrible. :scared:
 I apparently did the same thing. As I was waking up from anesthesia I was crying, I remember it so clearly. The doctor looked over at someone and said "she went from cussing like a sailor to crying like a baby"...and then I was out again.
I've been given Propofol once I was in the surgery room and told to count backwards from 100. I think I made it to 99. It's a very, very powerful drug.
From what I am hearing at this point, all Michael Jackson wanted was some well deserved sleep. Insomnia is horrible. Couple that with racing thoughts, it's sometimes unbearable.

Firehead -- Hiiiiiiiiii !!!!!
This is only my personal opinion of what MJ did to his features with the plastic surgery.
I honestly believe that MJ was teased so much about his big nose when he was younger that when he was able to sought plastic surgery.
I think the following surgeries were done because no matter how small his nose got - he still saw it is as big in the mirror. It's like an anorexic who can be soooo skinny their bones are actually protruding but when they look in the mirror they envision themselves as fat.
As far as his skin coloring goes I believe he had dipigmentation done by his dermatologist. See post# 927 which explains the process:

Re: the media. The media should be ashamed of themselves for reporting rumors and innuendoes without the facts. They have shown absolutely no compassion for his children - none -- and that has been the worst.
:rose:
Strange and so sad that we are back here over Michael Jackson again. I agree with you.
Watch the interview with Lou Ferrigno when you get a chance.

He was training Michael in May for this tour. His voice breaks near the end. :crying:

Did you guys see the interview where the man said talking business to Michael was like talking Greek? I think even Michael could understand the difference in 10 concerts and 50.
For some reason I thought originally only 10 concerts were scheduled but because of the overwhelming response it quickly moved to 50. I'm relying on memory so take my recollection with a grain of salt.

lol yet 2 1/2 of those people are tuning in to the shows covering it imo
one thing it did do is stop the wall to wall coverage of Gov. Sanfords love letters.
As a staunch democrat i still feel almost sorry for him, but dang..men have a problem learning when to stay quiet. I can't believe he said "she was my soulmate but i will try to fall in love with my wife again". I don't care about it but his wife probably changed all the locks and was at an attorneys office shortly afterwards. and the emails were way to much imo and none of the publics business.
MJ at least has knocked that off the air except for more politically related such as should he resign.
IMO

Do you know what the ratings have been since he died?
That would be the best indicator if the majority think there is too much coverage.
Is it bringing in the viewing audience or are the network ratings declining?
imo
