I'm devastated. A true creative genius, weirdness and all. One of the few of my time. Unprecedented success and unparalleled tragedy.
If he was guilty of pediphilia, it's unforgivable. But he was found not guilty, and the accusers always seemed to have extortionistic motives. I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.
His musical and creative talent set a new bar that has never been broken. His children have an incredible legacy.

It is a very sad day, reminds me of when Elvis died. People of all ages, who were not even born when Michael made thriller are in shock and saddened. What has surprised me is the amount who have his music, the local store clerks asked me if it was true, and when i said yes 2 of the 17 year olds burst into tears.
Shep smith just said that as news started to come out so many people went to the web sites, both celeb and news that the internet creaked almost to a halt. I remember not being able to refresh a page forever and put it down to dial up but apparently it was for everyone.

Since Debbie Rowe has given up her parental rights, twice (for money) she will have no legal right to the children. It is not that they do not have a wealth of extended family to care for them. You can bet MJ has made provisions for their guardianship.
When I first saw the Jackson Five's first TV appearance, I was awed.
Michael was an extreme talent that does not come along often.
WHY does CNN keep getting it wrong? His tour was NOT delayed to next march just a few of the July dates, other dates were still on schedule. 3 or 4 correspondents are going off what Tim someone said on cnn earlier.

This is going to be a fight, IF Debbie chooses to fight. All she will have to claim is that the money machine and the popularity of MJ made it impossible for her to get her children...even if she looses, she will get media attention and maybe a book or movie deal.
I just talked a legal secretary, she said her boss, a lawyer told he that leaving 'wishes' in your will is good, and sometimes the court will weigh that sometimes they will not...but the lawyer told her that one cannot 'Will' children like one would Will personal items. According to him, at some point CDF or the DA would have to investigate and have a guardian appointed by the court to ensure the best interest of the children; especially if trust funds are included in the issue.

When news of Michael Jackson's death was first posted on Twitter, nobody wanted to believe it. Most celebrities were trying to find out if *legitimate* news sources had confirmed it.
Alyssa Milano: Has a credible news source confirmed Michael Jackson's death?
Martha Stewart: i am waiting to see if the rumors are true about michael jackson
Samantha Ronson: i really really really really really hope that the internet rumours are incorrect.
Ashlee Simpson Wentz: TMZ please be wrong. Everyone have hope.
Then when the worst was confirmed to be true, the shock and sadness began to spread. Ashton Kutcher asked his 2+ million followers to pray for Michael Jackson's children, adding:
I plea to the public to refuse to consume media that does not respect the anonymity of Michael's children.

I think what the TH's on JVM's show meant was exactly that ~ he could express his wishes for the children's care but ultimately that person or persons would have to be fit to take care of them. I only hope they are with someone they already know and are comfortable with to lessen a little bit the trauma of his death. MOO

That's right, doctor_J, he was found NOT GUILTY. It was all about money with those people.

Thanks. I am sure with all of his legal dealings that his Will is in good order and financially they'll be fine, I'm just hoping that there are people in their lives that they are comfortable with that we don't know of, I hope anyway.
So do I. I heard earlier that the life the children have had so far is so removed from "normal" such as never having been to a school, always sheltered, not being in public without a mask on, etc. that it will be a difficult adjustment for them. MOO

I sat through a few days of that trial since it was a couple miles from home, and an attorney friend was there just about every day. due to some evidence found, the DA got an order for a DNA test, I believe (forgive me but it's been a few years and my brain cell disappear faster these days) because Gloria Alred was working with CPS and trying to remove the kids. The DNA test results were released, and it proved the children were NOT his biologically and they WERE caucasion.

So do mine, Snoopy, so that is why I asked you but it still makes no sense to me. He had legal rights to these children and iirc, CPS said they felt that MJ was a capable father to the children. I don't understand how they would have the power to make him give DNA or get DNA from his children when they had no intentions of taking away the children. He doesn't have to be their biological parent to be their legal father so I am still perplexed that was the case, if so.

I remember quite well that Allred tried to get his children removed but there were NEVER any DNA tests produced. I specifically remember huge discussions on this - was never proven and they can't FORCE you to take a DNA test. Even during the custody battle Debbie Rowe never once said the children were not his - not that it matters. HE FED, LOVED, CARED, RAISED AND SUPPORTED HIS children.
This has been a matter of discussion FOR YEARS.
I beg to differ with you, there was a DNA test, I would not make that statement if I did not personally know it to be true.

They may want to make sure that no outsider tries to come in or tries to steal any of his belongings. Probably walking through to see what is there. They may even take an inventory just to make sure things don't go missing. Or they may be picking up any prescriptions laying around that belonged to MJ.

Adoption has to be done through courts. One cannot just make private arrangments to allow someone to adopt their children.
Even when my husband adopted my children from a previous marriage, investigators came to the house they already lived in, to check for proper enviroment.

Fallen, there was a DNA test done which proved:
Jackson was not the biological father of the Rowe children, and gave the race of the children.

Randy Jackson is doing the PC.....on FOX
I remember quite well that Allred tried to get his children removed but there were NEVER any DNA tests produced. I specifically remember huge discussions on this - was never proven and they can't FORCE you to take a DNA test. Even during the custody battle Debbie Rowe never once said the children were not his - not that it matters. HE FED, LOVED, CARED, RAISED AND SUPPORTED HIS children.
This has been a matter of discussion FOR YEARS.
And I read every day of the actual court transcripts thanks to you Athena, you are absolutely correct!!!!!

You're right, BUT....Blanket was not part of the custody case, and CPS was not asked to intervene with him. At that time, no one seemed to know where Blanket came from, and Gloria Allred was Hell bent on finding out. I understand she finally did.....he was adopted from a single woman who allegedly contacted Jackson and asked him to adopt the baby. There has never been a lot of information on that situation so speculation is all we have.

Let me be the first to say I loved Michael Jackson. I am totally shocled by his death, it's almost unbelievable.
He was a magical entertainer from the age of 5.
Thriller sales are still unsurpassed.
His angelic voice will sing in God's choir now.
RIP Michael your millions of fans will never forget you.Oh, my gosh, oh, my gosh. I just got home. and heard this news, and I'm shocked, too. The first time I arrived home, it was
farrrah, which ai was semi prepared for. But I wasn't prepared for Michael at all. I don't know if he did the bad stuff that was alledged(sp). I strongly suspect that he did. I DO know that this morning at the health club, I stopped my workout to watch a Jackson video from the seventies (maybe late sixties). I was in awe of that boy's talent. I've called a couple of my loved ones about this and they have no appreciation of my appreciation of his talent and my sadness in his death. No matter what, we've lost a fantabulous performer.
I tend to think of his later years as sort of Anna Nicole-ish, but of course, I don't know. I think there will be an autopsy, and I bet somebody will be in trouble.
I don't even want to post this, because then it will make it real to me.
RIP, Michael.

I'm wondering if he was taking pain killers and working out vigorously -- perhaps both contributed to his cardiac arrest. Just a thought ... will wait for autopsy report so don't want to start any rumors. LOL
I don't know. I do believe that MJ was in a lot of pain. He still had his bad back so that had to be aggravated with his rigorous workout he was doing preparing for his tour.
And even though he was only 50 it had to be exhaustive and stressful to keep up such a high energy pace.

A lot of things can cause heart failure, including anorexia, drug use (prescription and otherwise), stress, cardiac arrythmia, and so forth. It seems to me since he was under the care of a doctor, and the doctor was there at the house, that whatever he was being treated for couldn't have been the direct cause of death otherwise an autopsy could be bypassed. Mostly a fan of the Jackson 5 years but I always appreciated his talent and that is where most of my respect for Michael Jackson comes from, and how the man could dance-I can watch a great dancer for days. I was more offended to have someone "speak" for me-I lived in that county at the time and yep, it was a circus. The Santa Maria Times and their comment section can only give their opinions, not mine or any other member of the community. I'm now one county "up" and I would not even try to speak on behalf of the community because there's a lot of folks here and they all have their own opinions. I do remember the trial days and you have to realize that if some people didn't love a circus then circuses would no longer exist. just sayin. But if he had health issues that would be expected, his heart just probably gave out.
Michael gave us 45 years of his talent. He can rest in peace now.

Boy, I sure liked him when he was young. I do think that he had a tragic life and that many people, including his family, mistreated him and used him for his money.
There has been chatter as to whether there will be enough of the estate left to raise the kids. I was thinking, it is too bad that he didn't stay married to Lisa Marie, because she and Priscilla made Elvis' estate into a money maker.
The same should be true for MJ. He may be worth more, dead, than alive.
If we thought the battle for Anna Nicole's baby was vicious, just wait until Joe squares off against the mother of these children. MOO

That is just unbelievable. 50 years old and 45 years in entertainment.

I wonder - he's a celebrity, if he had one of those celebrity doctors that are more enablers and the like - the doctor could be the cause of death - giving him more painkillers than he should, for instance.
I could see that being a cause - I've had back pain, and I know MJ was a major perfectionist for his shows. Back pain is the worst, doesn't respond well to painkillers, which makes you want to take more.
I know what you're saying. My mother suffered from back pain due to degenerative discs. I think the lawyer who was interviewed earlier was suggesting just what you've posted about too many painkillers or prescribed drugs.
FYI ~ Dr. Baden is on Greta's show right now. I just knew we'd see him tonight!

I'm not disputing what you say, but I understood his father found him on the floor............
His father was in Vegas at the time
Report was released to the SB district Attorney's office and CPS. It was not released to the public, at least not that I know of.
Then please provide a link. I KNOW it was not in the trial which you implied it was.

I don't think his father was there. Doesn't his mom and dad live apart?
I heard he had a personal physician there.
I also read the Lou Faregno (sp) was MJ personal trainer.
