Caylee's paying for her defense.. She's selling everything she can get her hands on..Now isn't that something.. Murder your child then sell everything you can of hers so she can pay for the best known experts..I don't feel KC tapped into her resource of Caylee photos to cover her whole defense as I'm going with someone or an entity that have access to an ever flowing stream of money. I do feel though that when KC realized the amount of money and time used to find Caylee initially is when Caylee became a comodity. Remember her statement in her first jail visit with her parents, she commented on those monies could be used for her bail bond. This was before Lenny rode into town. Also I wanted to share a site where Diane F. gave an interview when she was first asked to write the book by her publishing co. In the interview she admits to not being familar and needing to cram to meet her deadline. This site is Blog Talk Radio with Levi interviewing. First interview was in March and the last was a couple of weeks ago. I'v been in the music business for 30 yrs. and am not feeling alot of sadness with the news Michael has died. I hope his children may have a bit of a more normal life as the years go on. Michaels song played at Caylee's funeral hit me the wrong way due to all his lawsuites regardless of being found innocent. Now we have to spend the next couple of months seeing all the wackos come out of the woodwork to cash in on all things we now know can bring in money.

So many dresses have changed around here-- so I have a quick question.... is JBL on here from the Cutt's trial? I posted with so many good people on that board and this board is just as friendly.
I will never forget watching carpet one night on the live cam in the court room waiting for that guilty verdict. We sent one poor little poster down to the court house to see what was going on. I know,
we were desperate for news!!

If Casey takes the stand like the surprise-- Cutts took the stand and told everyone it was an accident I think I will literally vomit. It was unbelievable what that monster did and then he threw Jess/Chloe in the back of his truck wrapped in her comfortor and tossed her in the woods to rot-- just like Casey did with sweet little Caylee. Early in the morning driving right through town. I can see Casey doing her dumping deed in broad daylight just like Cutts did. RAGE....

I will bounce out of lurkdom this hot afternoon to pose a question to the board.

Has anyone heard anything about what Casey was like as a child? Any old friends come forth or old teachers to comment. She didnt get this crazy overnight. What was she like in grade school? Was she a little liar even then?

Also after following the boards and reading more of the evidence I no longer think that this death was accidental. It just took a while for me to come around.....Anyone else have to read "enough" to figure this out.
When I first began following this board.....Hell....I thought half of you guys were just MEANIES.... "those poor Anthony's boo hoo etc."

I just hadnt heard enough at the time. Twas blind but now I see.

She said it will be out in Nov. and that she writes about many true crimes. (She wrote about the nutty astronaut too.)

I have her site bookmarked now.

www.dianefanning.com

I also found an interview she did back in January about the book and the case. One point that I caught in that interview is that she thinks LE left the car at the Anthony home too long. I totally disagree with that. Once Yuri noticed the smell, he took steps to have that car impounded. That was just Cindy's BS IIRC and they called her on it in some other interview.

Here's the interview.

George admitted in an interview, that the towyard company name was written on the notice that they found on their front door. So, the possibility exists that they knew where the car was before they ever picked up the certified letter from the PO. I wonder if Really has ever driven by there and looked to see what type of secure fence that they have there? In one picture, it showed a very high fence (I'm guessing at least 10 feet). Couldn't tell if there was barbed wire on top of it or not.

speaking of the Scott Peterson case.. What I find very comforting with this case is that I have Yet to read 1 person that believes Casey is innocent. Where is Marlene?
Is she still working on SP is innocent? I never for one moment thought he was innocent and all
the claims from the Not guilty folks was ("all they have is circumstantial evidence") That is pretty much all we have here as well.

Thank God everyone can see what Casey has done!!

Moo My links to Marlene's site don't work. I think she has fallen off the face of the earth. She's been replaced by the Scott Peterson web site where the family lists their "Featured Facts," aka "featured Lies" by anyone who knows anything about the case.

I think Marlene only took up for MEN who were convicted, never women.

If a plea is offered to Casey, and she accepts it does she have to disclose exactly what happened to caylee at court?Only if that is part of the plea deal, i.e., she will get a reduced sentence if she tells what happened....like Gary Ridgeway and the BTK killer who both got out of the death penalty by admitting some of their crimes. That decision would be up to the prosecution qnd I hope they don't do it.

Personally I would like to see an "Anthony Wing" in the Orange County Jail. moo

I imagine because it's in the public domain.

An author doesn't need to get permission to use photos that are "out there."

The Anthonys tried to convince people that they have trademarked or otherwise "own" every likeness of Caylee and Casey and of anything that has to do with this case -- but that's not true.

If it were, many many writers would have true crime books without one single photo in them.

Cindy doesn't own everything -- she just wants us to think she does.

Everything that I have seen in the Discover indicates to me that Casey is responsible in the death of Caylee. However, I really haven't been able to decide that she is the only "knowing" party to the death or disposal. Those Anthonys sure all lawyered up way too quickly after Caylee's remains were found on Dec 11th.IIRC they lawyered up BEFORE teh body was found. Nejames was there when Miller was still searching and that was BEFORE the body was found.

Didn't I read somewhere that Baez was paid a $5000 retainer for thsi case. That would have been used up many many many moons ago. This defense is gonna be in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars. Can anyone on the defense team afford that? I believe I read that Henry Lee is paid $300,000 for just the court appearance. On top of that you have travel expenses, and hotel expenses.

IIRC Casey "told" him she hade $5,000. George laughed at that.

I don't think it's public domain if your making money. If somebody popular was out in public and somebody took a picture of her they can keep it, but you can't copy it and sell it. You have to have permission to use her picture.

Then, maybe it was a photo that had already been sold to the media, and Fanning got permission to use it that way. Like a photo published in a newspaper or magazine, it's out there.

If I were (god forbid) writing a book about KC, there's lots of photos that are in the public domain because they've been published already. Or, you go to the media source who bought them and get their permission to reprint.

It's not a complicated thing. And it's done all the time.

You can go to a certain site no sure which and buy the picture for a certain amount of money. I took copyright in collage but can't remember all of it, alls I remember is if you get caught using a picture without permission there goes your profits.

(Sorry everyone for the continuing O/T, but the MJ thread is a bit of a snakepit and it skeers me over there.)

According to Diane Dimond on JVM's show earlier, she had inside info from a source close to the Jacksons, that Joe (his father) and someone else was at the house when Michael collapsed. She said the source said it actually happened in the neighborhood of 10-10:30am and Joe and others tried to resuscitate him. 9-1-1 wasn't called until around 12:20pm, IIRC. MJ was already cold when paramedics arrived. Now, if all this is true, it makes you wonder what went on in the house between the time MJ fell ill and the 9-1-1 call was placed.

Again, this is all according to Diane Dimond. But I *think* she's a credible investigative journalist who has been writing about MJ for years.

ETA: She also said, or I read, that one of MJ's sisters (I'm guessing LaToya) lives in Vegas and had to get to LA when she got the news. There are photos of LaToya running into the hospital in the early afternoon, so that sort of fits Dimond's information about when MJ actually collapsed.

Pardon, but this doesn't make sense to me. Paparazzi continually shoot photos of celebrities without their permission and quite often make a healthy profit from doing so. Likewise, photographers take stock pictures of the Empire State Building, bikini-clad roller skaters in Venice Beach, or sunsets over the Cayman Islands and sell the same photo over and over.

There may not be actual pics/floorplans available to the public for the jail areas... due to security issues, I suppose. I have no idea.

I did not see these in the links thread and I apologize if this is an echo post:

Motion for Determination of New Trial Date (forged check charges)
http://www.wftv.com/pdf/19859813/detail.html

Motion Compel Photographs (Casey's tattoo)
http://www.wftv.com/pdf/19859853/detail.html

I've never really had much interest in the tattoo that Casey got, or what it said, or even what the saying meant. It's interesting to note that the State isn't even sure what the saying is on the tattoo. I'm sure that Baez has already seen it, as Casey spent a whole lots of hours in his office while she was out on bond.

The State of IL used to be if they had been seen by a doctor within 30 days and the doctor was willing to sign the D.C. jmo

I was personal friends with the EMT's and the JP and I know for certain they did not even ask for his doctor's name. The JP signed the death certificate and he was immediately sent to the funeral home.

I was at home at the time and they may have made their decision based on my description of how it was so sudden. He was on his computer sending someone a message on instant messenger. He was gone in an instant without even finishing the sentence he was typing.

No, he never did have heart surgery, but he did have one of those procedures where they run something through the veins to open arteries in the heart (can't recall what it's called). Yes, I think it was what you said...a massive heart attack. I was in an adjacent room at the time and heard a loud thud. By the time I ran in there, probably about 3 seconds, I think he was already dead. He and his computer chair had fallen backwards and that's what had made the big thud. I doubt he ever knew what happened.

???????

Spots you came in at the middle, I can't explain copyright in a few sentences. I was just commenting that you can't take a picture of Caylee and put it in a book and make a profit without the permission of the estate. The Empire State Building and things like that is tricky it depends on how it's used. I'm pretty sure nobody is going to sue over a picture of a sunset.

Hi,

IIRC a couple of the experts said they were working pro bono at the beginning but then one of them (can't remember who, I think it was a woman) said they signed a payment non-disclosure agreement so they're not allowed to discuss the terms.

My sense is no one is working pro bono but that's just IMO from what I've heard and read.

Bolding mine....

I so agree. I don't think any of the attorneys are working "pro bono", even if they're not getting paid any actual money. The publicity is this case is priceless and in the long run it may net these attorneys more money than if they had actually been paid.

In one picture, it showed a very high fence (I'm guessing at least 10 feet). Couldn't tell if there was barbed wire on top of it or not.

If the fence at the towyard is really that high, then it makes it even more unreasonable that somebody climbed the fence and put a dead body there after the car was already towed to the towyard. I think it just solidifies that Casey is the one that put the dead body in the trunk of that car, and that dead body was the body of Caylee.:crying:

Only if that is part of the plea deal, i.e., she will get a reduced sentence if she tells what happened....like Gary Ridgeway and the BTK killer who both got out of the death penalty by admitting some of their crimes. That decision would be up to the prosecution qnd I hope they don't do it.

Personally I would like to see an "Anthony Wing" in the Orange County Jail. moo

The more I think of it, the more I don't see a plea deal happening in this case. First of all, I just don't see Casey admitting anything in regards to Caylee. I personally think it was 1st degree murder, but I don't even see Casey admitting to an accident or anything along those lines. She just does not want to take any responsibility as to what happened to Caylee. Period.

I also don't see the state accepting a plea deal either. Why would they now? They have some pretty good evidence against Casey, so why would they agree to a plea deal that could potentially give Casey a lot less jail time than the jury would give her? I just don't see a jury acquitting Casey. I could maybe see a hung jury, but a jury that votes to acquit? No. If by chance there is a hung jury, the state can always retry the case, and history shows that the retrials almost always results in convictions. If the hung jury is more than 1 or 2 holdouts, then the state can decide whether or not to try to convict on lesser charges, but I still see more prison time for Casey than with a plea deal. Also, on NG this week, one of the TH's basically said the same thing about the state not needing a plea deal because of all the good evidence that they have against Casey. I think it was Eleanor Dixon who is a prosecutor in Atlanta. Despite what Casey's attorneys on her "Dream Team" say, I think the state has an excellent case against her and will be able to easily get a conviction against her, even just based on what we know right now. I do, however, think the state has more evidence against Casey that we have not seen yet, and probably will not see until we get closer to trial.

I dont know if they will or not .. didnt learn anything when many drs gave Elvis all those RX's. Until the DRS are charged it will not stop But hey if you got the money you can get it legal or Illegally..

It can't be stopped remember the prohibition what a waste, they finally gave up. Now with the failed DEA agency. If the people want it they will find a way. There are always going to be people with addictive personalities, you just can't control them.

More depressed that the little one who didn't have a chance to live have been murdered.. Caylee, Neveah, Sandra, they Found Little Jada Justice dead 30 miles from station she was reported missing from..
Still not found Haleigh, nor Trenton Duckett

Sad because of FF MJ and EM.. however Ed was in his 80's ,FF cancer no longer in pain. MJ maybe from extensive RX's.. Sad because of them passing but they got to live make their own way.. The Babies didnt have a chance.. they were murdered..

This has been a problem since the beginning of time, remember the Romans killing all the babies, under 2 for some strange reason it's in our genes. I don't know how to stop it.

Let's discuss this -

What were the computer searches (chloroform, neck-breaking, shovel, etc) all about.... Do you think that Casey had a master plan? What do you think the prosecution will use that discovery for in their case in chief?

It is so hard to try to figure out what she was thinking, I wonder where she got the chloroform , why would she borrow a shovel from the neighbor because now we have a witness, why would she need chloroform if she planned on breaking her neck, which if her body was found right away they would have known that was the cause of death.

It's very hard.. There are alot of different options that the state might take, as I see it.

Chloroform - on one of Casey's x-boytoys (RM) he had something on his web site "win her over with Chloroform" with a photo of a beautiful elegant young woman, and a man in the photo also. That's about the time that Casey was googling "chloroform". Now, do you think she just wondered what that was all about? Apparently Not. Wasn't there evidence in the truck of the car of some of the necessary ingredients needed to make a "batch" of chloroform?

Was she planning on doing the whole family in? That's been discussed. I'm not sure on this. Again, you just don't what she's thinking. I say the choroform had something to do with Caylee, and Caylee alone.

The shovel is strange too, I wonder if that is in relationship to "household weapons"?

Why wouldn't she use her own shovel. While she was on her spending spree with everybody's else's money, why didn't she buy a shovel. Is it hard to get chloroform? Maybe she thought if she purchased it over the internet it couldn't be traced? I just don't understand what a 2 year old could do that you would want them out of your life, I guess that's just me.

the shovel-

the shovel was borrowed before the gas can theft being reported. Note that George said the lock had been broken- so maybe the A's shovel/s were in the locked shed. At this point she must not have thought the need to bust the lock for a shovel was worth it.

Buying the shovel-

well darn it legalmania- that would cut into her fun money!!!! don't think she'd want to own a shovel, and it was after Father's Day- (but she could've told her dad- hey, happy belated FD-here's a shovel) another reason, a shovel would probably not be allowed to be brought into Fusian- so she couldn't do a pole dance with it there.

chloroform- if she would've ordered it over the 'net, she'd likely be more scared of the pkg. getting delivered to her home and one of her parents intercepting the pkg before she got to it. However, she could've always used Lee's addy, or one of her friends- but then- maybe she didn't want them asking questions about "why not have it sent to Hopespring?"

imo

I guess your right she could have bought 2 drinks for the cost of one shovel. What was I thinking. Of course she could have used the shovel and then returned it. I wish I had a time machine so I could move forward to the trial and wouldn't have to guess anymore. Until tomorrow my love. :seeya:

ack- are you saying return a used shovel (it's defective, I can't dig but just a few inches, lol) why- that's like people that buy $$ clothes, wear the outfit once and try to hide the tags inside the armpit or whatever then return it as never worn- until the clerk says HEY- there is BO coming off this dress!)

But I bet she wishes she'd done just that (recall that Cesar Laurean also borrowed a neighbor's shovel- and darn if the body was buried and burned in the pit in his backyard- but he's a Marine, more muscle)

have a good nite legalm~ I'm headed off too, a long hot day for me and just sad news for so many tonite

Not all her computer searches could have been for the murder she was contemplating. Perhaps she had another reason for searching "shovel."

As for the chloroform, she probably didn't order it. If it was used in the murder, I think it's more probable that she made it herself using ordinary household chemicals.

Prior to authorities announcing the possible recovery of Jada's body, Castillo's mother, Rita Rincon, defended her daughter, saying information about Castillo has been misunderstood or misconstrued.
Rincon denied criticism that Castillo had been uncooperative and said Castillo and Tkachik had been out with other volunteers passing out fliers.

Yep. Another "Mother of the Year". Or in this case "Cousin of the Year". My head is absolutely swimming thinking of what they did to this baby girl.

WHY?! Did she cry? Did she interrupt while you were doing things that didn't include her? Did she demand attention? Did she act like the 2 1/2 year old that she was? I just cannot understand why you would kill this defenseless little girl.

It doesn't matter what your "excuse" is... you can never explain what you did. This baby girl did not deserve what you did to her.

This is absolutely sickening.. They believe they killed her on the 13th. the last time mother spoke to her was on the 12th...I am just sick thinking about her last mintues on this earth.. Was she already dead when they tired to burn her? I can only hope and pray she was..

Sadly I had figured there was not going to be a happy ending for Jada, I just so hope that she didn't suffer.
Somewhat like Caylee...I am hoping that we will find out during the trial that she was sedated...and didn't suffer a long drawn out death.
These folks are so sick...not only murdering children...but what is with the callous disregard for the child's suffering?
There are some very unbalanced and ill people out there...if a dog were to attack a small child like that we wouldn't hesitate to put the animal down.
Somehow the rules change when humans are the culprits of harming our most vulnerable members of society...it's so sad.

Just my opinion of course...

I find this strange too, but here is a link about shovel as weapon:

I'm sure it's not related, but it was interesting...
