I stumbled across this article (blog alert!) when researching Steve Jobs liver transplant, of all things. Since it is a slow news weekend I thought I'd share. I thought it was hilarious. The grandiose conspiratorial tone had me falling off my chair. The next to last paragraph goes too far with the "Communism" and "Anointed One" revealing their partisanship but if you can ignore that it's a good laugh and totally over-the -top "reporting"

How sad. People have nothing else to do but spend their wheels talking about a President and his dog.
President Obama and his 2 gorgeous girls went out for ice cream today. He also spoke about the hole in his heart concerning the absence of a father on Father's day and expressed empathy for others who share the same feelings.
Did you see that? Or were you too engrossed on the small negative matters?
A person's tongue mirrors his heart.

This thread is too show just how far some senseless people will go.
The saddest part is this would have gone further if the Obama's did feed their dog tomatoes as it is now they are saying he is "lying".
Yes -- there is a thread in the forum re: how President Obama feels about Father's Day :)

I guess I was too engrossed in the small negative matters.
Actually, I was just sharing a good laugh. The blog was not supposed to be serious, it was sarcarm,, in a light-hearted way, but actually makes the serious point of how far some will go to criticize the Obamas. As I pointed out, I wasn't looking for political blogs when I clicked on it. I feared it was going to be hard to find a sense of humor on the political thread.

Good point. LOL. Irony, humor, satire, all good ways to show how over the top the detractors are. I actually, in all seriousness heard Hannity, make fun of Pres. Obama for asking for Dijon Mustard on his hamburger, he asked if they had something spicy, like Dijon, so Hannity made fun like in the Grey PouBon commercial, you know FRENCHY and all that elitism. Well, regular mustard is called French's Mustard Anyway. So what does Hannity know. So absurd.

There were also many outright and some subtle references made about GWB and his ranch/cowboy/Texas persona and lifestyle. One I remember was how the MSM always seemed to film their news from Crawford in front of that dilapidated shed with the tractor rim, etc.. Was that the only place they could find to report the news from Crawford? I don't think so. It was, imo, the MSM's subtle way of letting the world see they were reporting from the Texas sticks. Then, there were the snarks made about bbq and brush-cutting. So, this isn't anything new with Obama, except he's the new target of the "irony, humor, satire" you mention.

Press conferences that didn't involve the president were conducted in the gymnasium of Crawford Middle School, ten miles away from the ranch. The ramshackle barn was actually a shed on private property behind the school.
They're busy building a better fly trap. ;)

I read this last night while also looking for the Steve Jobs article (hope he is healthy and strong again!) and laughed out loud.
BTW, both of my dogs eat tomatoes, well tomato sauce. Always have. :w00t:

Oh no daniel -- seriously -- I hope not. It won't kill them but can make them sick albeit slowly

Our vet has said that the ripe tomatoes (which is an ingredient in a lot of dry dog and cat food, btw) are not harmful and, in fact, contain wonderful antioxidants for them.
Ripe tomatoes, the part of the plant typically used in food products, are not toxic.

The ingredients for Iams clearly shows tomatoes:

OK - that's a good thing. Actually don't have dogs and my cats are like Garfield -- they love lasagna
That's what my two doggies love!

I was freaking out there for a moment. I'm sure glad it isn't true that ripe tomatoes aren't poisonous to dogs since I've fed leftover spaghetti with sauce to both dogs.
And yes, I know, most dog experts say dogs should never get human leftovers...I've ignored that too. Why rinse plates before putting them in the dishwasher when I have a perfectly healthy dog to lick them clean? IMO that's just a waste of water and I'm trying to live green.

I hear ya! I have asked vet after vet, my own and at the Humane Society, and all have assured me that ripe tomatoes are just fine. And pointed out that they are used in commercial dry dog/cat foods.
The actual tomato plant itself is supposed to be toxic to both animals and humans.
My two dogs absolutely love a good, home-made tomato sauce over pasta!

 My three would agree with you!
HAHAHAHA!!! I was expecting to be jumped on about this...about how I was such a bad doggy mom or some such. But I knew I wasn't the only one, thanks for speaking up.

Oh, please! The happiest, healthiest dogs eat home-made food!

Yeppers, spaghetti w/sauce seems to be a canine favorite doesn't it? And one of the funniest things is watching them eat the noodles.

Like the two dogs in the Disney movie, Lady and the Tramp!

And they love it even better with meat balls!
I make a pot of rice, veggies and chicken for my dogs for the week and feed them that as well as other things we fix for ourselves. Since we have vegetarian meals mostly (or meals with and without meats), we do add meats for the dogs.

Awwwww....I loved that movie and had forgotten that scene. Surely Disney would not feed those dogs anything poisonous.
I use our rice pot almost everyday and do feed the dog some rice all the time, but mostly she gets a little wet food mixed up with dry and then maybe a few leftovers, if there are any. I'm pretty frugal when cooking for just the two of us, not much left over.
But I gotta admit that the OP was pretty funny, whether or not it was meant to be.

LOL! You're as bad as my one brother. His fiancee does pretty much the same thing for their dog.
The absoute worst. :blushing:
But the thought of getting dogs to feed them some dry pellets makes no sense to me. Natural is always better.
