The poll found that most Americans would be willing to pay higher taxes so everyone could have health insurance and that they said the government could do a better job of holding down health-care costs than the private sector.

 I'm not surprised! It's only those who already "have what they need, and don't care about the rest" of the population who object.

exactly...

Perhaps there could be other paths to insuring the uninsured. Taking all the money that is funnelled into government programs for free health programs, including Indian, Eskimo, etc. programs and clinics and putting towards Medicaid. And look at some other federal programs that are not as important as health care. Eliminate some of those. Prioritize our needs. Bring back that charities deduction FGS!

What more important..Endowment to the Arts or Heath Insurance?

Increase taxes of everyone 6% and all those who need the insurance would be free or on a sliding scale if they can pay at all.

Something like that.

There is no need for giving coverage to those who don't need it, giving it free if some can pay some of the cost, and make sure no one is ever bankrupted by catastrophic illness.

And make sure no one is overpaying his fair share. Like contractors!

But think outside the box.
