Starts at 5th paragraph:

"Still, the right's fury rages on. It is hard, however, to take conservatives seriously when one considers that each and every day, real players in the rudderless conservative movement -- powerful talk-radio hosts, cable-news hosts, pundits, columnists and bloggers -- throw aside the reasonable boundaries of a civil political discourse by using wickedly divisive, cruelly insensitive, intentionally misleading and downright hateful rhetoric. And the response from their followers? Hardly a peep."

If some of the comments in the article are true.....It's deplorable behavior by ANY human being, regardless of party affiliation.

I agree, and, yes, they are true! I think I heard Rush make that statement.

Oh all that was said, for sure. I'd be interested in hearing some outrage from the posters here who carried on and on about the late night joke.

Can we get apologies from these Democrats?

Good question. And with with regard to the "dates" of these articles, there is no statute of limitation on ignorance and hatefulness regardless of the source. MO

No, there isn't, it seems a bit disingenuous to just bring it up when someone else comments on a very recent situation. I expressed dismay over both sets of comments. Notice, the other poster did not. More of a 'but they did it'.

Yes - IMO - it is a good question.

The boards are for discussion and debate. What's disingenuous about pointing out that this isn't limited to one party.

Why wait two to three years asking for an apology. IMO, the poster was searching out comments made by Dems NOW, in retaliation for the OP's post. Waiting that long, to me, means it didn't bother her in the first place. Had she said that those 2006 comments outraged her then, and she's still waiting, I'd have found it a little more genuine. Have a pleasant day.

You have an opinion and unfortunately you aren't always correct - IMO.

You are in no position to call my opinion correct or incorrect. Presumptuous for you to do so. Carry on.

Presumptuous of you to assume I need you to tell me to "carry on."

Didn't see those, thank you. They are still 2 to 3 yrs old, so again, outrage is best expressed at occurrence, not yrs later. Looks and smells kinda fishy at a much later date. Just my opinion.
Just as the recent decision by the senate to apologize for slavery is meaningless. That was 200 years ago!

My guess? The conservatives do not try to have the liberals demand apologies from the "left wingers" that say things that they don't agree with. IOW, conservatives leave it up to individuals to be responsible for determining who they demand apologies from and who they don't. Conservatives don't compile lists on an hourly, daily, weekly, basis on what left winger the liberals should be outraged with at the time. If some liberals put forth as much effort in ignoring what they think the conservatives should or shouldn't think or do, they'd have more time on their hands to tout the good that BO has done.

I think I will pass. I do not really care about which Republicans liberals think conservatives should be getting apologies from.

there ya go, exactly what the article was saying, you have made his point ;)

I didn't label you as so many have done on the Politics forum. No one person is politically defined by the 'side' they take. I am neither as well. I was a Republican all of my voting life but during Bush, I changed my political party to Indy but am more of a Libertarian. I have, however, been labeled as a republican/right winger b/c I do not like BO nor do I like what he has done so far (with the exception of naming Clinton SoS.)

How is my response to you not in relation to the topic of the thread and the posts therein? It is directly related in that we constantly see the 'left wing' or libs try to push in the faces of those they consider right wing or conservative the "horrible" right wing THs and others that are not in lockstep with BO or democrats. The left wing/libs/dems cannot and should not try to dictate how the right wing/conservatives/reps feel or believe and vice versa. No amount of blogs, articles, opeds, etc. will tell the true nature of either party as a whole. No amount of threads that deride or try to diminish the right wing or left wing idealogues will change the opinion of the right wing or left wing believers. In fact, it causes either 'wing' to defend their side (which, btw and imo, is NOT AMERICANS side) more fervently. It is a mistake to point out all the bad on one side when there is plenty of bad to go around.

what is it that Clinton supports that you support? just trying to figure out what it is you see different between her and Obama as the both basicly support the same things

What I see are liberals starting threads they know are going to get opposition from the "other" side. I suspect not for open and honest discussion, but to turn the knife just a little......... MO

Exactly. To call out one side, and not the other, tells me someone is biased, or partially blind.

It certainly does, doesn't it?
