FINALLY there might be justice for this baby girl. She's never been found and "daddy" is coming up for trial August 3rd.
Thompson was indicted in 2007 on counts that include fatal child abuse in the disappearance of his daughter Aarone. She would have been 6 when Thompson reported her missing in November 2005.
Authorities say Aarone may have died as early as 2003, but her body has not been found.

I hope the state puts experts on that let the jury know that abused children will lie to cover the abuse as a form of protection.

So glad to hear this is going to trial! I was unaware that charges had been brought against the father. I think it will be difficult for him to be found not guilty since there is no proof this child existed after a certain point in time.

Hi Littlewheels. I think Lowe died of a heart attack. I think they are both culpable, but no matter the outcome this is a very sad case full of deceit and confusion. The surviving children know something, JMO.

Judge Valeria Spencer issued the sentence for Aaron Thompson on Tuesday after telling him that he had failed as a father and as a man.

Yeah, but that still ain't long enuf! Personally, I'd recommended a shorter sentence by the death penalty! MOO, he'll have it better off than most of our "trying to make a living" population. Didn't get to hear all of it today as of yet, did they say where he will be "serving his time"? Hopefully Florence~~

Love West Texas ... my roots are there/2 degrees to Texas Tech. My son, DIL and 2 grandbabies (#3 to be born in April) live in Eagle-Vail. I have fretted and worried about this case for years. Thank G*D it's over and I just wish "Big Daddy" would tell where the baby girl was disposed. Back at ya!

I'm so against the DP in most cases. Not just because we can't take it back if we are wrong - but because I'm convinced life would be way more miserable for these guys in gen pop for the next too many years than their existance in the relative peace and quiet of death row. I wish, for instance, that Scott Peterson was in the gen pop.
But Brian Nichols (Atlanta mass murderer) should have gotten the DP (juror lied in voir dire) because he will NOT have a miserable time in prison (after killing a judge, some LE, etc) and he will escape (probably with the assistance of other prisoners and the poorly paid guards) and kill again.
LWOP is perfect for this guy. Convicts hate kid-killers.
