Finally today I got some good photos & video of the wild horses out here.
I have promised forever to upload photos of them but every time I had my camera on me (which is almost always) we don't see them.

Today they walk right on by me! Here are some of the photos of when we first seen them up until they walked on by me & crossed the highway.

You're welcome. It made my day, they had never walked right next to me before.

Here's another photo I meant to add with the others:

They are great! We have several places in NC where there are wild horses and ponies. I must go check them out!

How do they live healthy in the wild? How do they survive without having their teeth and feet attended too? And what about parasites? Just curious.

Hi Say,
There are many more wild horses up North by you.
My driver said he seen the big horns out around Spring Mountain Pass last time he went into Las Vegas & since I gotta go tomorrow & get my 2 month post (head) surgery checkup I am really, really hoping to see them also.
40 years ago it was such a common site but now uncommon.

Hi Tally,
You're welcome. They made my day yesterday getting that close to me.

Yup, doing real well thank you, hope the same for you.
We have had some really strange weather here, it has not hit the triple digits in over 10 days! I'd love Summers out here if it were always like this!

Hi Deb,
Actually they are not all real healthy looking, I uploaded the best looking ones. Here's a photo of one of the mares:

Awhile back I uploaded a photo of one of their watering spots, it's a awesome watering hole that most don't know exist. I reckon there's enough growing there & probably a few other spots I don't know about.

When I need to go to town I take & leave apples & carrots on the trail I know them to take (the one they were on yesterday) & also pick up fresh cut alfalfa that has fallen off the trucks from the fields after the cuttings. Since we get up to 9 cuttings a year & they are messy loading (lol) that helps.

There are wild camels out here also from way back when Jefferson Davis was the secretary of war in the 1850's & thought they were a good ideal.
When the military had no more use for them they were just turned loose.

Down the road from where I live is an Arabian Horse Farm. The horses are beautiful! The white ones are my favorites. They come right up to the road.

Oh wow, how cool is that! Seems so foreign to me, I mean I hear about them and see them on t.v. :), but wild horses have always seemed magical to me, almost mythical...maybe unicorns are real lol. No seriously, they are absolutely amazing creatures, takes my breath away.

thanks for sharing!

A bit off topic but......

Last Summer my cat and I were driving around the country. Somewhere around Roswell NM, there were lots of wild burros. Don't remember exactly where.

Loved it!

I've uploaded this photo before on a thread;

This photo I took around Blue Diamond, NV where sometimes you have to pull over & shoo them off the road to continue driving.
