Hi, Tally............

Even though I don't think people here need reminding I'm going to jump on your thread to post this and say "we don't leave our fur babies (or not so furry ones) in a car in 90 degree weather!"

I hope authorties place the puppy and any siblings it may have in a safe home. Some parents don't properly supervise children around animals. What also ticked me off about this story is that Robin Mead on Morning Express show (HLN) thought it was funny when she reported the story this morning. Kind of an odd reaction to me. I was horrified.

I didn't see it but I would have been horrified too. There is absolutely nothing funny about it. I doubt that puppy is out of the woods yet. So young and laying in all that bacteria.

She's adorable isn't she? I hope she finds a good home.

Yes, she is and I don't think they'll have any trouble finding her a home. :)

She is so cute. Who could have the heart to dump her in a post office box? Don't people understand that you can turn your animal in to a shelter? Don't they see this on tv all the time?

She is lucky to be alive.

I had much the same reaction as you when I saw this on the news. Why was this small child given access to such young puppies without supervision?

That was my first thought also - but remember how very fast and surprising kids can be - turn your back for a second......! I imagine mom has got the message now. Really - I hope the puppy didn't catch anything and continues to have a healthy life.

Oh My GOODNESS!
When I was a little one, that is exactly how I got my first doggie, a chihuahua! One of the nurses at daddys hospital had a litter and her son tried to flush Chiquita! Daddy brought Chickie home to me.
What a great little gal she was.

I agree, children can be as fast as greased lightening, but this boy had time to retrieve the puppy, wander out into the yard, through a garden, get the puppy muddy (puppy is not old enough to walk on its own yet) then find a toilet to flush it.

Update on this story.

Kitty has been adopted by a New Hampshire postal worker and his wife who lost their cat a year ago. They have adopted a dog from this shelter before and saw the story and contacted the shelter.

Kitty has been renamed. New name is P.D. (postage due), lol.
