My guess would be because President Obama is a political person. jmo

Well, Rev. Wright is not!

But what was said was political and racist. I think anyone from Chicago who knows the President and makies a racist comment about the President would be worthy of political discussion. jmo

Wow! With all those outrageous statements, videos of sermons, etc, etc,..that Rev. Wright makes, I wonder if they might prevent Barack Obama from an overwhelming victory over McCain/Palin in November's Presidential election?

I have to ask, why did Bush give Wright's church $1,500,000.00 for? what kinda faith based service did tax payers get from Wright's church? that is a lot of our tax money, what did we get for it in return?

sense bush gave Wright's church 1.5 million and that is only one church, do we have a list of the total amount spent on faith based initiatives, how many other churches got 1.5 million under Bush?

Now that is interesting. I wonder why Wright's Church would take a donation from Bush...politics, what strange bedfellows it makes.
Lisa, do you have link that offers the information in regards to this donation? Honestly, never heard about it before, but it is interesting.

Thanks Lisa...
This is incredible, just when I thought nothing would surprise me about the Bush admin.
But it does not change the fact that Rev. Wright is really anything but a 'man of God'

yeah, he may of been a good preacher at one time, but I think something has happened to him in his old age, I thinking grumpy old men syndrome or something
the other interesting thing is when Wright retired his church gave him a million dollar house iirc

I think that too, but as long as Fox/Hannity can keep Wright in the forefront they'll do it. I heard the remark he made and he goes a long way back with with Barack's 2 top people from Chicago. And I surmise someone stuck a microphone in his face and said: do you talk to Barack? And he quipped those jews......keep him away....next thing you know it's "the jews" and it's racist. Makes headlines and so on. I have jewish friends, have had black friends, but don't currently, and am an ex-catholic 1/2 Italian. Have Catholic friends, too. We all accept each other's place role in life and circumstances. And we DO joke amongst ourselves. And all proud of our heritage and faiths or choices in life. And some are Republican friends, too.
I'm so tired of the nitpicking or words in or out of context; or words not said that should have, or should have been said better. Etc. We've become a nation of nitpickers. So high schoolish.

That is too funny. It is as amusing as when the left tried to excuse his hateful rhetoric as being typical of Black Liberation theology, it was a one time event, it was taken out of context, etc.
No matter what silliness they come up with, every time this opens his mouth his true feelings are exposed.

Maybe he would not be in the forefront if he would just watch what he says?

I don't..because Rush, Hannity, Beck, O'Reilly..as well as others..are inciting the hate crimess going on in this country today..because of their vile hate talk.
They certainly have a bigger audience than Wright does.
imho
Omigosh Bunny, ROFLMBO..now I think I've heard everything!!
just because you don't like what those men say about your "guy", doesn't mean it isn't true in many cases. And doesn't it give you some kind of message about the mainstream americans, that the men you've mentioned have a MUCH bigger audience than their very left counterparts?

What gives me a message about "mainstream Americans" (using your exclusionary language) is that we elected Barack Obama.

Gee, I guess "reverend" wright is too full of hate to realize that Jesus was one of "them Jews". I guess "reverend" wright gets his Salvation elsewhere. Which would make him a false prophet in many's book.
makes you wonder why the bush admin gave his church 1.5 million of our tax dollars don't it, guess the religious right just isn't that picky when it comes to handing out our money to Christian churches

FBCI funding (Faith Based Funding) bush was funding his faith and he was using our tax dollars to do it - that is so unAmerican

This is one good reason that FBCI should not be encouraged. The gov't should not be giving to this at all. There will always be a question of politics mixed with religion. Why a church with a hateful man such as Wright should get money for such hateful propaganda is beyond me.

Quite literally and honestly, he did so only when it was politically expedient, Lisa.

he put down the mans message from the get go, he only put down the man when the video's surfaced, we all know Obama thought of the man as a old uncle that sometimes went off the deep end and yes he had to denounce that old uncle do to political reasons because the man was trying to use his success to spread his words when he went over the deep end and if Obama did not cut the man lose it would damage his career and all the help he could do for this nation, he had to put country first
