Several of us here have communicated with various players in this case behind the scenes over the past few years.
I've communicated with Denny Nau, the IT Dept at Centre County, Michael Madeira, J. Karen Arnold, Tony Gricar, Matt Rickard, Stacy Parks Miller, Stephen Sloane, the Bellefonte Borough manager, various CDT columnists, and a former journalist on the case.
JJ has intimated that he's also communicated with Sloane, the former journalist and possibly another unnamed source.
About the only information I really gleaned from all the sources I contacted was --
1) that things were done behind the scenes that the public wasn't privy to (well duh...)
2) who all had laptops in the DA's office, when they got them, and who used them the most
3) that one felt (in a wishful thinking kind of way) that RG, because of his love of travel & history, could have walked away
4) one said that police decided to "make the leap" that Gricar probably did such & such (sort of implying a haphazard investigation IMO)
5) one provided an official copy of the Bellefonte Police Press Release
6) one offered that the case was still being looked at and that police can't divulge any more information that might jeopardize their ongoing investigation
7) one that said she really didn't think a new DA could accomplish much since evidence "disappears over time" (that's downright scary IMO)
8) one that felt Zaccagni worshipped the ground PF walked on, and that the car was probably returned quickly because of her
9) and finally, some blah blah blah kind of appeasing statements on how "he'll" never rest until there's a solution to this case.
I'm really tired of the secret squirrel stuff. I think if we have sources we should put it out there. If the sources didn't want it out there...tough! ...then they shouldn't share it.
This case has gone unsolved for over 4 years now and police need to get their **** together and go back to square one - start from scratch - and do a *real* in-depth investigation in this case.
JMHO
