How can a 10 lb. cat weigh 50 lbs. whenever you want to move them from where they want to be?

Example: Shadow loves sleeping on me all night long. If I wake up and have to go potty, he absolutely will NOT move and that's when he weighs in at a ton or so. It makes me a lil' crazy cuz hey, when you gotta go you gotta go and I have all I can do to get out from under that little lump of lard without having an accident. LOL

Been there. Done that.

STILL doing it - night after night after night.

I have 2 that like to sleep behind my legs, but they're on the outside of the bed, so I can't get OUT when I need to.

Do they MOVE when they feel me trying to get out of bed? No.

Do they CARE that I have to get out of bed? No.

Spyder.....shame on you...bad kitty Mommy.....bad kitty Mommy !!!!

Killer likes to snuggle at night....with me laying on my side...she struts up the full length of me....all 6'....strolls up to my chest.....bats/taps me on the cheek til I pick up my arm and say: "Wanna come in" and she crawls damn near into my arm pit and mushes things around til she can find just the right spot....then she sighs and throws her fat lil hiney into the crook of my elbow so's her chunky butt is in the crook of my arm...then she rests her head on me and snooozes.

Now If I DARE to move my hand or shift slightly she gives me the nastiest big girl meow you've ever heard. I jus' wanna slap it outta her mouth ya know.

When she gets too warm she snorts and head butts me til I pick up the covers so she can crawl out. She also chases me to the bathroom and stands and taps the door til i come out and return to bed.

Ive also discovered that she cannot not not walk AROUND the bed on the floor.........its much much easier and apparently way more fun to jump ON the bed.....walk OVER me and get back down.

Gotta love da kitties.

I love everyone's answer, but my guess is, it's probably dead weight. LOL

You should be glad that your kitty likes to snuggle. Mine likes to sleep in my bed with me (at times), but she likes her own space. She loves to sit with me at the computer, but on my desk, not my lap. At times, on my mouse pad (I still keep one because I think it's comfy on the wrist). She'll ignore you if you want to show her some attention, but demand you give her 100% when she wants it.

She's so darned spoiled that I have to keep her water in a coffee cup at my computer. She refuses to drink water from anywhere else. That started because she always wanted to drink my water, so I had to get her her own. Big mistake!

I love this thread! One of my cats loves to stretch out on the computer desk, making me move the keyboard and mouse or else she'll be on top of both ~ she's rather big at 17 pounds, so I'm talking taking up about half the desk! If I don't pay enough attention to her, she'll try sitting between the keyboard and me and bite at my nose. So some evenings I don't spend as much time here as I planned since I can't ignore her! My other two aren't so demanding of my computer time, but like to perch themselves on the bathroom vanity especially in the morning when I'm trying to get ready for work.

:tonguewag: Ain't it the truth?

Harley, one of our laziest cats, walks up the entire length of my body, walks across the night stand, jumps down and heads for the food dish that we keep in the bathroom for our disabled cat, which is not him.

I guess it's some kind of short-cut - easier than walking all the way around the bed, yaknow!! (Especially when he's exhausted from sleeping all day!)

I usually end up lifting the blanket up, like they are in a hammock and slide out.

My dear cat would wake me up every morning in a unique way. I always sleep on my back and as soon as my eyes opened, probably from whiskers tickling my face, I would see this giant cat face just getting ready...

Before I could get the word "No!" out, she would let out the enormous snort! That was her "Good morning!" Or was it "About Time!" She didn't get any lovin at that time though, I indignantly found my way to the bathroom to wash my face with eyes closed.

Then we'd talk, of course it did no good.
