Wonder why she wasn't charged with 2 counts of murder? Maybe pending autopsy? Hopefully she'll be held accountable for the infant's death also. I'd be interested to know how she lured the woman to her house or who house it was and at what point did she involve "the man"?

I find it so surprising that this woman has children. Wonder what could have made her do this. I look forward to reading about their personal connection if any.

Horrible, sick and disgusting that she would do this. Thoughts and prayers for the family of the murdered woman and her baby.
Anyone remember Lisa Montgomery? She had several children yet murdered a woman she befriended on a message board? She pretended to be pregnant and then murdered a woman, took the baby and tried to pass the little girl off as her own.
Thinking the boyfriend may not be involved. Like LM she may have told her boyfriend she was pregnant, then called him telling him she had the baby. Just a thought.

Heather Meagan Snively was 8 months pregnant.
She met Korena through CraigsList.

Records indicate that Friday at 2:42 p.m., a 911 call was placed to the Washington County Consolidated Communications Agency to report a new born baby in distress at 13380 NW Mill Creek Drive.
Members of Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue responded to the medical call and found a man and woman in the house with a new born child who was not breathing.
"The man was performing CPR on the child at the direction of the 911 personnel. The woman, 28-year old Korena Elaine Roberts, told the rescuers that she had just delivered the child."
Thompson says rescuers observed a large amount of blood in the house and decided to quickly send the child and Ms. Roberts to St. Vincent’s Hospital.
"Doctors at the hospital were not able to revive the baby, they also discovered that Ms. Roberts had not delivered a child at anytime in the recent past," Thompson said.
"At 4:37 p.m., The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was called to respond to the hospital and gained information that led them to believe that there may be at least one injured person at the Mill Creek address."
That is when Sheriff’s deputies returned to the Mill Creek Address and entered the house looking for anyone who might be injured.
"They found a deceased 21-year-old woman in the crawlspace of the house and no other people in the house. Detectives from the Washington County Major Crimes Team were called to the scene and eventually obtained a search warrant."
Thompson says the Washington County Forensics Science Unit also responded to the scene along with the Washington County Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team.
"At about 5:45 p.m. Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Ms. Roberts and later charged her with Murder. She is being held without bail."
Detectives determined that Heather Snively was killed by homicidal violence and her unborn male child did not survive, Thompson said.
They are now waiting for the results of the autopsy to determine how the child was delivered.
Thompson says that at about 11:00 p.m. last night, Heather Snively’s boyfriend, and father of their child, reported that she was missing and she was in her third trimester of pregnancy.
Detectives were able to determine that the victim and Ms Snivley were the same person.
Thompson stresses that this is an active investigation and many of the details will not be released at this time.

OMG...and I agree with the poster that it should be charged as a double homicide. It may not have been intentional that the baby die/not survive, but his death was the result of the felony - the murder of his mother. Good lord - and craigslist. One has to be so so careful using that site. I've been fortunate using, but was always careful to not be alone if anyone came to purchase items. It's also known for identity theft scams on it's employment and housing sites.
Why did this person respond to a craigslist ad? So horribly sad.

The woman who killed Bobbie Jo Stinnett in MO also had children. She had a new husband and wanted children or @ least a child with him. Unfortunately, she had had a hysterectomy years ago. Plan B--kill a pregnant woman for her baby.

From the link:
A grand jury will hear the case, the prosecutor said, and Roberts might also face charges in the infant's death — if lab tests determine he ever took a breath.
So unbelievably sad :crying: That woman should never again be free.
This baby WOULD have been alive, if his mother had been alive to take him to delivery. If he died prior to being removed from his mother, it was only because his mother was murdered. If it is determined that he died before being cut out of his mother, I do hope someone in OR takes up the cause to get OR laws changed to be able to charge the mother's murderer if the baby died only because of the murder.

I completely agree, Amy. It will be utter injustice is Korena is not made to take complete responsibility for the death of that child.

Even if he died after being "cut out"...he should have had another month in the womb..he wasn't in a hospital..no one to see to his survival..this is a double homicide, as I see it...If he died before his mom was "cut"..then...perhaps it isn't a double homicide? If he was dead before the murder? Lots of investigation and autopsy work to be done..but either way...WHAT was this woman's purpose? TO kill the mother? Or to get the baby? AS I see it..even if the poor baby was dead inutero..that person is guilty of a second charge as well...whatever it might be...can't call it attempted murder..becasue that wasn't the intent...attempted felony theft (of a human being? kidnapping? child endangerment?).

I work in Maternal Child. These days, babies @ 35 and 36 weeks remain w/their mothers on the Mother/baby unit. No extra resuscitation required @ delivery--that is, no more than a baby born @ 37-40 weeks. Some do need oxygen and suctioning, but then so do those born more near term. I can't imagine that Heather's baby was already dead when she went to this murderer's home, so if the baby died BEFORE he was cut out, that would only have been because his mother was dead and he was not removed quickly enough. So, murder, whether he was born alive or dead, IMO.

ITA with you Amy...I was just speaking to those "to the minute" forensics..which may make a difference in that state as to fetal murder, etc. Either way, I'd argue..that even if that little baby boy breathed even one moment...that woman was responsible for his death..and in the act of a felony murder of his Real Mother. There has to be a farther down basement floor in Hades for people like this.
This should be a double murder..or murder and felony murder..(depending on how their laws are written...I have had time to research it).
This type of activity by criminals is unbelievable..well all of it is..but to kill a women to rip a child out of her body and the child ends up dead. HOW danged stupid can that slasher be? She deserves to have a double murder charge..and to get life imprisonment if not worse. My God...a woman takes her baby to near term and something like this happens. Just makes me so sick.

Anyone remember during the Laci Peterson case when Nancy Grace kept saying it was a ridiculous and impossible defense that someone killed Laci for the Baby?
She repeatedly said people do not cut babies from their mothers wombs and try and pass them off as theirs...
Can we now say that she was wrong? Women ARE killing pregnant women and taking their babies..
Add this one from last year to the list mentioned above.

Like Bobbie Jo Stinnett in MO--but fortunately for her family her baby lived after Lisa Montgomery killed her for her baby. And, just like Korena Roberts, Montgomery already had kids--she had 4. She wanted one w/her new husband. I suppose Roberts' rationale was she wanted one w/her bf. Such a tragedy.
Montgomery sits on death row in MO. After going back and forth on the death penalty, OR reinstated it in 2008. May Korena Roberts join that crowd.

And they were @ the time that NG was vehemently insisting it does not happen. Of course, she was just a TH on various shows back then, mainly LKL, and did not have her own show and researchers who could have provided her with information to the contrary.
The guy in the above article (Miller) says that, when the other murder happened last year, he was only aware of 2 or 3 other cases in the country in the last 5 years. Perhaps whomever researched for him wasn't thorough, or maybe it isn't like he says, where it is unique enough it always makes national news. And, the one he is talking about--didn't make national news, first I heard of this one. In fact, most of the ones I learned about, were not on national news, but thru message boards. IMO

Really you had never heard of the one in WA?
Maybe it wasn't brought up her but I know I posted about it on another common crime site..
My daughter works for KVEW, her college friend was one of the first reporters on the scene and she lives right down the street from where they found the body. (yes when you hear young woman found dead in park and said park is blocks from your daughter you pay attention for details..)
So I did follow it- the state just decided against the death penalty in March.

Yep, only took a second to find and I was spot on - 20 years ago! I think this article says that this was the first recorded murder of this type:

Wow, what a beautiful child and an uplifting ending to a tragedy. I recommend taking the time to go to the link and watch (and hear) the video.
This may be the first time in recent years that this has happened but I would bet that it has happened many times before. It is just that we know and hear about things around the world that we did not used to.

doc the last I heard is they had to wait to see if the child was alive or viable at the time of the murder which IMO is sad she killed the mother and child..I hope she rots:cursing:
she talked to her about baby clothes on craigslist is what I heard

I don't watch HLN or CNN or those type of channels all that much--and it wasn't national news in that it was reported on the more local stations I would watch news for. I come here and go to Crime Library, can't keep up w/much more. And, I don't get to all the threads when I do, there are just so many. I had read about several in this region, and some that may have been on the MSN or Yahoo home page.

I tried to watch the video, but it says it's no longer available!!!!:crying:
I'm thinking that several I had heard of, one in OK panhandle, somewhat close to me, and several in other states occured about the same time as Bobbie Jo Stinnett was murdered. And those would have been w/in the last 5 years, as little Victoria Stinnett would now be just about 4 1/2 years old.
I agree. So many crimes I wouldn't have clue about if not for the message boards, or even the home pages for MSN and Yahoo. I remember when, even w/cable TV, networks like HLN and CNN and MSNBC, FOX, etc were not available. That is another place where I hear about some of the crimes I would not have otherwise.
