In a lengthy interview with the police, Mr. Muhammad said he was angry about the killing of Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan, Chief Thomas said. Previously known as Carlos Bledsoe, Mr. Muhammad told investigators that he had converted to Islam as a teenager, Chief Thomas said.

That's the most neutral report I found. According to other news sources, much more was said and much more was reported on.

Islam, the "religion of peace". An 18 year old dead, for wanting to serve his country. Gunned down by a terrorist religious fanatic. IMO.

I would certaintly not broadbrush all practicing Muslims though.

IMO.

Well, it's a relief that you are not painting all of the canvas the same color.

I recall Christianity going through a similar period with the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition.

This terror is not coming from Islam.

Terror can come from all extremism. Remember Baruch Goldstein?

Thank you for the most informative link. However, I don't consider a letter to the editor as a viable source of information except to his/her opinion.

But if opinions of other's are allowed here, please read this. The writer is not a Christian although I agree with 99.9% of it.

The crusades and Spanish inquisition are great example of why there needs to be a separation of church and state. Wherein the state stays out of religion. Gosh I hate the word "religion". And I wholeheartedly agree with the writer in the WSJ link, your argument is fatuous.

The execution of this young man by a religious extremist is a current event, not history. Do you ever criticize any others or do you limit your contempt for disciples of Jesus who believe that Christ was born of a virgin, was crucified and was raised on the third day and now sits at the right hand of the Father?

God bless.

"History" has had a great effect on my people, literally taking millions of lives, so do not expect me to disregard it, no matter who perpetuated it.

When one forgets history, it is bound to be repeated.

Belief is of small consequence in my religion.

So, I care not at all how one believes but how one acts.

Do you actually believe Baruch Goldstein was " a disciple of Christ?"

Baruch Goldstein??? What does he have to do with this? Huh? He was as much a "disciple of Christ" as you are. Why are you though, such an apologist for islamic extremists? For crying out loud, the goal is to wipe out the State of Israel!

Our God said Himself:

Isa 43:26"Put Me in remembrance, let us argue our case together; State your cause, that you may be proved right.

This whole passage has to do with belief, as does ALL of Isaiah. You're kidding right?

You seem to want to sweep aside history.

Listen my friend, I don't care to have an arguement with you. I mean no harm to you. But I have to say, that if harm came to me as a Christian, I believe you would sincerely believe and would say I had it coming to me.

Did you take some time to read the link? Don't bother answering, I'm done.

God bless.

I cannot help you keep a logical train of thought. Start at the beginning and read again. Maybe that will be of help.

Extremists come from all religions throughout history, not just Islam.

One can twist the words of any holy book to justify one's actions.

I am not an apologist for extremists no matter where they come from, not even from within my own people, such as Baruch Goldstein.

Where on earth did you get the idea that if harm came to you as a Christian I would say you "had it coming?"

I am a psychiatric social worker and there are many more like me or in allied professions that can provide assistance. Please check.

History shows the Jewish people have fared better, relatively speaking, under Islamic rule than Christian rule.

Yes, I see you are done. Perhaps now is the time to pick up a history book?

I found a university level class on world religions most interesting.

yep, all religions have their fanatics, when the fanatics of a religion start to gain control, a country is in trouble

separation of church and state is the only way to avoid this imo

The victim of a domestic terrorist was laid to rest today without the benefit of the major news coverage his story deserved.

If the murderer was a christian and not a muslim, it would be all over the news and courttv forum.

I'm not a christian, but its easy to see the hatred of christianity with alot of people.
