I believe Drew Peterson is a smart, Diabolical Monster. It has occurred to me that he loves to pull pranks and cause cops and press alike to look like fools.
I wouldn't put it past him to kill some transient way back when, stuff him in a blue drum, and doing a half hearted job, just waiting for the media circus when the remains are found. Of course, he continues to be a clown, laughing at LE, while all the while, he knows where Stacy is and that she will probably never be found.
To see LE scrambling to ID these human remains, he's laughing at them all.
His bail will probably be reduced after this is cleared up.

Prosecutors are pushing to shut Drew Peterson's lawyers up about potential evidence against the alleged wife-killer.

State's Attorney James Glasgow filed a motion on Wednesday to forbid attorneys from leaking anything from discovery documents, which will be turned over to Peterson's legal team for the first time next week.

I have a hunch that Drew and Brodsky are not going to like having a gag order... They do like the media!

OMG this guy is totally twisted and makes me want to barf. I would agree that Drew is a diabolical monster/clown. Charming, generous and fun guy, but cross him and you're dead meat.

As for Brodsky, the reason is obvious. Self-promotion. This case will make his career. Nobody knew his name before this.

Ohhhh, he's going to go down alright. For the murder of Kathleen Savio, for now.
I trust the LE will have enough to charge him with the murder of Stacy pretty quick based on the information and files of evidence they claim they are not discussing.:ohmy: Of course a body would make things a lot easier for the D/A and they are looking.

Any idea when the last Grand Jury was dismissed? Yesterday, or a week ago yesterday? I want to believe the DA is holding cards close. At the same time, I don't think the family is hearing anything. Guessing Pam and Sharon would know. I get bits and pieces every once in a while. Not sure how much to make of those bits.

Are all four kids still with Steve?

A special Will County grand jury that's spent 18 months investigating the 2007 disappearances of Stacy Peterson and Lisa Stebic has ended its term without returning indictments in those cases, officials said Wednesday.

The same grand jury indicted Peterson's husband, Drew Peterson, on May 7 on first-degree murder charges in the 2004 bathtub drowning of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.

The grand jury is being dismissed because its term expires Thursday and can't be extended, according to a written statement from Will County State's Attorney James Glasgow that confirmed a Chicago Sun-Times report today that the grand jury last met on Tuesday.

But the dismissal of the grand jury doesn't mean the end of the investigations into the fates of Stebic and Stacy Peterson, authorities said.

As for the kids, 3 are with Steve and the oldest is staying with a friend to finish out the school year (no link, hearsay on that). btw, 1st in his class in grades for the year.

I just finished listening to the Levi radio show and couldn't believe a few things that I heard. Joe Hosey who wrote the book "fatal Vows" was on with Sarena Stause who wrote the book "Bronx DA."
Joe talks to a lot of the people in the D/As office and others around the jail that Drew Peterson is locked up in.
Brodsky said he had no plans to substitute this Judge on the case in the beginning and now he has changed his mind. Apparently Brodsky wants to substitute the current assigned judge now because he says she handled Drew Peterson and Kathleen Savio's divorce. The good Judge deny's this and says it was not her. He continues to claim she did.

Brodsky is also in deep chit cause he spends way too much time with his client Drew Peterson in jail. Instead of discussing a defense strategy they have been playing cards all the while Brodsky is with Peterson.:sneaky:

It was very informative.
A lot was discussed not only about Drew Peterson but also Christopher Coleman. The crimes themselves were discussed and according to the former D/A Strause, Coleman was extremely sloppy and Peterson was very meticulous in Covering his Azz.

Thank you, Dianna. I have been following both cases closely, and I have to agree with Strause. Coleman is dumber and sloppier and may be even more evil than Peterson, if that is possible.

Drew Peterson is back in court for a hearing on whether yet another new judge should be appointed in the high-profile murder case.

The Will County state's attorney's office says the main issue Monday is defense lawyers' bid to replace Judge Carla Alessio-Policandriotes. Two weeks ago, she was picked to replace another judge at the prosecutor's request.

Prosecutors say other motions could also be dealt with Monday, including a state request to seal discovery.

Peterson is charged with first-degree murder in the 2004 death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio. The former Bolingbrook police officer pleaded not guilty and is jailed on $20 million bond.

Peterson's fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, has been missing since 2007. Peterson's been named a suspect in her disappearance.

Well, if they don't have solid evidence, and they may not, he will and should be acquitted. There is no way he should be tried in the media. He should be able to get a fair trial with a fair and unbiased jury. Hard to do these days in high profile cases.

While Peterson appears arrogant, it may be because he hasn't killed anyone and finds it pretty funny that they think he did. However, many people have been convicted of crimes they didn't commit because of arrogance, and I would knock it off if I were him.

I have no reason, at the point and time, to think he's guilty of anything more than being a jerk.

IMO

I think as the facts are laid out, the jury will find just too much coincidence to acquit Drew Peterson. He benefitted greatly from Kathleen's death. And guess what, he death was just days before the settlement where Drew stood to lose substantial financial holdings. Instead he gained from Kathleen's death.

IMO, there will be many witnesses against him. A lot will depend on the recently passed IL hearsay law also called Drew's law. If that law holds up to challenge's, Kathleen's letter to the DA in which she feared that Drew would kill, will be admitted into evidence. His alibi witness, Stacy, has mysteriously disappeared after telling her pastor that Drew admitted he killed Kathleen. There is more evidence that we don't know about.

Oh yes, I believe he will be judged guilty by the jury. Not because of the media but because he killed Kathleen. IMO

While locked up waiting for a lower bail, how are DrewP's house payments being made?
Utilities?
Taxes?

He still drawing his pension?
Are the kids sharing the pension as 'support' from their father?
Now that he no longer can benefit from KS money what is/will DrewP do?

I'm pretty sure he will keep drawing his pension until he's found guilty, but i might be wrong.

i doubt the pension's supporting the children right now. Who ever has them might have to go to court to get that ordered.

In an effort to curtail media contacts that Drew Peterson has been making from the Will County jail, a judge today restricted the former Bolingbrook police officer to only making calls to friends, family and his lawyers.

Will County Judge Stephen White demanded the telephone numbers of those people and said Peterson, who is charged with the 2004 killing of his wife Kathleen Savio, is limited to calling only them while he is behind bars.

White also said that anyone associated with the case, including Peterson, his defense lawyers and prosecutors, must notify the judge before conducting any media interviews.

Also today, White ordered sealed lists of witnesses who could be called in Peterson's upcoming trial.

Prosecutors also turned over six cardboard boxes full of discovery documents to defense lawyers.

Last week, prosecutors filed motions to seal all discovery documents and to modify the conditions under which Peterson can see his attorneys in jail.

The latter motion asks the judge to require that Peterson's attorneys use the jail's video conference system for visits unless there's a "specific need" for a face-to-face visit in which case attorneys must schedule it with jail staff at least 24 hours in advance.

But White turned down that request and said that defense lawyers should be courteous and give notice to the jail staff.

PETERSON DEFENSE: BAIL APPEAL DENIED

Murder suspect Drew Peterson's lead attorney released a statement late Friday saying the Illinois Third District Appellate Court has denied a petition to reduce Peterson's $20 million bail on charges alleging he killed his third wife.

Joel A. Brodsky, lead defense attorney for Peterson, said in the statement: "We're disappointed in the ruling from the Illinois Third District Appellate Court, but we accept the Court's ruling. However, we are also confident that as the weakness of the State's case is exposed over the following weeks and months we will have another opportunity to ask for a reduction in bond."

Peterson is charged with the 2004 murder of ex-wife Kathleen Savio. He has pleaded not guilty. Peterson also has denied any connection to the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson.

At Peterson's hearing on a defense motion seeking a bail reduction on May 22, Will County State's Atty. James Glasgow for the first time laid out part of his case against Peterson.

Facing "financial devastation" from his divorce with Savio, Glasgow said Peterson offered someone $25,000 to kill his ex-wife in late 2003, just months before she was found drowned in a dry bathtub at her Bolingbrook home.

Its been almost 8 months since she was found. If it was Stacy they would know that by now, wouldn't they? They would have worked hard to find info on missing women. I wonder who the poor girl is.

Chicago, IL—They’ve Indicted retired Bolingbrook police sergeant, Drew Peterson for the murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio. That death was investigated years ago and determined to be an accidental drowning involving a slip and fall in her bathtub. Recently FOX NEWS paid $100 grand for Dr. Michael Baden to conduct a second autopsy.

The case was reinvestigated and reclassified as a homicide. Peterson’s abnormally high profile and seemingly cavalier attitude brought a great deal of hate out of the woodwork resulting in what I consider a malicious prosecution.

WGN Radio's Legally Speaking held a mock trial of Drew Peterson on May 28, 2009 at Chicago’s Kent College of Law. The “evidence” was publicly available information brought forward in the form of closing arguments and jury instructions.

I sat in on this show and watched lawyer, Karen Conti, prosecute Peterson who was defended by Joe Lopez. The case is presided over by retired Judge Richard E. Neville. The jury was picked by members of the audience.

The case ended with a 6-6 split hung jury. Most interesting was they admitted the untested hearsay evidence from the recently enacted “Drew’s Law”. That so-called evidence is unlikely to ever make it before a real jury.
