This I can't quite figure out. I agree that Annie may have been supplying Casey with Xanax, but she never babysat Caylee and she had never heard of the name "Zanny".

Well according to transcripts - Annie had a prescription. She did babysit Caylee also, at times. Of course she's not to say that she heard of the name Zanny. That would point the finger at her. Had a chat with another member here on the phone, and now I'm convinced that Annie knows more than she's saying. IMO of course.

WOW I had not seen it either and I look for a big circus today he says it was her medical rights first of all was she even in the sick room at that time? I notice that Alan (I got Von Bulow off) Dershowitz wrote the forward to Andrea Lyon's book. The only thing I admire about AD is this quote of his:

“The defendant wants to hide the truth because he's generally guilty. The defense attorney's job is to make sure the jury does not arrive at that truth.”

I hope to heaven there aren't any Constitutional issues in this case, that would prompt the involvement of AD. :mad:

Well I learned my lesson on the advertisement of Lawyers in their websites from Jose. I was googling DP attorney's in Florida the other day and IIRC I believe the name was SPIVEY and something or something and SPIVEY (I could be wrong on that name) claims on their website that they are the only DP attorneys who WON a DP case in the last 20 years in Florida.

Florida is the easiest state to get a death sentence, hands down.

Her credentials are impressive. But Florida is a whole new ball game. Florida likes the DP. You won't see one of our Governors letting everyone off DR.

In Florida, I was under the impression a DPQ attorney was required in the guilt phase in addition to the penalty phase. I stand to be corrected if that's not the case.

Ok math is way off. 100% win of LWOP sentences vs the DP.

The others never made it to the penalty phase, perhaps plea deals that the DP was taken off the table so no need for the penalty phase.

I have mixed opinions on this. People are in fact reluctant to give a DP sentence even though they state they can in fact hand one down.

I'm not sure if this is an attestment to jurors/human nature or the DP attorney.

I agree very confusing but have watched live trials on In Session and it is like another trial after they are found guilty..not sure how FL does it..she could have did all the trials and the DP phase after they were found guilty and 13 she was able to get a sentence of LWOP and not DP
But I may be wrong I am not sure how FL works..I can see her doing some of the trial along with the other lawyers and most lawyers do consider wining a DP case a big Win just cause they saved their client from the needle

Hi Cass, it's my understanding that according to Florida law, an attorney must have experience "trying" capital murder cases. That eliminates jose. I think she will be the lead attorney in the guilt and penaty phases. I stand to be straighted out if this is wrong tho. :smile:

In all the DP cases I've followed from Florida, the death qualifying attorney was there for both phases.

Maybe that is just the smart thing do though. Don't know.

IMO this woman is looking to push her book.
Anything that will get her and the book into the public eye works.
Whether it is bad or good these people like the publicity.
Either that or some millionaire has taken up the cause and is paying for

IMO I believe that the defense at this time is just concerned with keeping Casey alive.

I have only seen speculation of the state paying for any of Casey's defense. Jose has asked for sanctions and money for the defense but he has so far lost.

I have not seen any indigency paperwork for this to be processed. I find this utterly amazing.

I have only seen speculation of the state paying for any of Casey's defense. Jose has asked for sanctions and money for the defense but he has so far lost.

I have not seen any indigency paperwork for this to be processed. I find this utterly amazing.

I thought they'd played a bigger part then just the DP phase as I thought the DP attorney has to be lead chair in these cases. Lead chair doesn't sit back until the end.

Paying for an attoney of a defendants choice isn't the way it works. If indigent I thought they were appointed an attorney. Can you imagine anyone indigent flying respective attorney's of choice from all over the country in any state?

Baez said the video also captured part of his meeting with Casey Anthony in jail that same day. Although there is no sound on the video, Baez claims it is a violation of Casey's right to attorney-client privilege.

I don't understand the violation, they are observed all the time, just not listened to. Is it the taping that is a violation even if there is no sound? If being taped is a violation than that rule must broken all the time as there are cameras all over the jail.

I take it to mean that 11 cases were plea deals. They never made it to trial and therefore, never seen the penalty phase. Of the 19 which made it to penatly, she won, by the jury not sentencing them to death. IMO
