Can someone interpret this nonsense?
JB: Some of these things that are said, and assumed, um, I... I think what needs to be done folks is I want to help you, um, I, in educating you in certain things in covering this case. Obviously there are many things we cannot disclose, and should not disclose. Ah, and if we choose to keep them quiet, it's for that reason, and for various reasons that we believe are in the best interest of Casy Anthony.
Now, I, I will say this. um, (inintelligble) you should.. what needs to be done here and As you guys look thru this case, there are tough questions that you need to pose to that building over there (points to the building over there) as to a lot of things in this ma.... in this case, and it's, and not take the guided tour. There are th.. there are questions that you should really pose to the state about this case as to some certain actions on their behalf....
Kathi Belich: Such as what?
Joe Baez: Not now Kathi, hold on a second.
I think there are tougher questions he should be asking of his client, rather than pointing fingers at the Prosecutors. Lies, mistruth, Half truths and downright fantasy is what has come from the defendant and her family. Worrying about whether they had underhanded intentions in taping casey's reaction is the last thing he should be doing.
Spending valuable time on this brings more attention to it and makes people wonder just what is he afraid of. Let it be seen and judged, it may not be entered into evidence anyway.

I had to cut out early and missed most of the proceedings. I plan on catching up later. But quick question, other than Casey scribbling notes to Baez and giving him coy smiles and looks, does she ever show a glimpse of sadness for her dead daughter? Does she?
Not once and she never will. As she said before , she can't be showing her emotions every two seconds like everyone else does. As if a person in what SHOULD HAVE been an overly emotional situation would have complete control.
A missing 2.5 year old is cause for focus, but dang don't mention that an unidentified childs body, less than a half mile from her house, has been found, that will bring on an emotional breakdown.

LKB and the new attorney Andrea Lyon would both look better in a more grownup, Hilary Clinton-irish hairstyle http://www.hairstylesearch.com/Hilary%20Clinton/Hilary-Clinton.htm It would soften their features but at the same time convey a degree of professionalism that the wild-and-woolly long hair styles of the 60's do not convey.

My interpretation of what they're doing is going after the Pros for trying to manipulate this into a DP case to force a plea. They did this for strategic reasons only which SHE WILL PROVE. They will also have to prove this does not meet the criteria. Pretty tall order there IMO from someone who admittedly states she doesn't have any of the facts of the case.
They've quit defending Casey months ago and are going after every legal technicality they can find. That's their focus.
ITA. Otherwise, why so much time and energy and paper on the one stinking video tape of her reaction on December 11th? You'd think it was a video tape of her carrying her triple-bagged daughter from her car to the dump site, fgs, the way the defense is playing this up.

PRisoners appearing in civilian clothes during hearings is a very common practice. The judge only has to grant the motion,
The theory is that they look more innocent in street clothes than in jail clothing.
I have to disagree on this from my own experience sitting in on court hearings in my BIL courtroom who is a judge if they are in jail they are brought to the courtroom in their Orange only during the trial are they allowed to be in street close..may be different in other states but not around here..most people are never seen on TV during all these hearing so why bother..

I do find it interesting that she is allowed to wear civilian clothes to court now, when a jury has not been picked yet. I guess since it is televised that the potential jury pool has the opportunity to see her, so maybe that is why it is allowed? In today's court appearance, I think it would have been better for her to be in her prison uniform rather than the outfit she wore.:blushing:
Not sure if everyone remembers but she refused to come to court awhile back and the judge said she had to be there so JB got him to agree to not have her bling bling arm cuffs as Drew Peterson calls it on and he also agreed she could wear street clothes and that very next court date she was brought out with her cuffs and JB jumped up to rush her out of the courtroom to have them removed.. so she got her way once again was all it was that is why it angers me she threw a fit not wanting to be at all these hearing and the judge gave in to her wishes...that is why I am angry I hate Peterson but sure did like to see him in his orange going into court..

I so agree! Also on JVM's show the TH's were saying how it is not good that the attorneys, including this new DPQ one, keep saying that Casey is innocent to the media. They said if Casey is found guilty, that jurors like to see remorse from the defendant before issuing a sentence, and if they claim they are "innocent" then they can't come back during the penalty phase and show remorse.
I personally think the best thing that the defense team can do is to say no comment. I think a lot of what they have been saying/will continue to say in the media, is going to come back and bite them in the butt during trial. I know there is a joke here, but I am not going to say it! :D

I'm not saying she should get facial reconstruction I'm just saying to smooth out the wrinkles. I think that suggesting something to make somebody look better is hardly cruel. Botox is temporary if you don't like the way it looks just don't do it again. The wrinkles will come back.

I wasn't trying to be cruel. I was trying to convey my absolutely dead-serious belief that people have greater credibility when they dress in the expected "uniform." A white lab coat (often worn by doctors and dentists) evokes a different psychological response than the medical smocks worn by the physician/dental assistants, and the difference is even greater when compared to a chef's coat or a football jersey.
People have expectations concerning how attorneys ought to look and how the clients ought to look. "Looking the part" is important, especially in a case receiving as much media attention as this case. I thought the attorneys' clothes and makeup were OK (everyone was wearing some variety of business suit/skirted suit, which is the standard attorney "uniform") but their hairstyles detracted from their professional appearance. IMO most women over 50 - and professional women in general - probably shouldn't wear their hair long, just like they should probably avoid tight pants and/or tight blouses.
As far as male or female attorneys being fat, well, I guess maybe some of us spend a lot of time sitting at our desk working on our cases. LOL! I don't think the fat/thin issue is particularly relevant so long as the clothes fit properly and look professional.

Bolding mine....
I so agree w/you. In some respects, her parents really and truly are the only ones on her side and who appear to love her unconditionally. Casey may have her dream team and those out there that contribute to her commissary account, but it is not the same kind of unconditional love and support that she is getting from her parents. I truly feel that some of her attorneys are in this for themselves, and care only about the bottom line and the publicity that they are going to get from this case. When this is all said and done I wonder if Casey will regret the way she has treated her parents? Nah, probably not knowing Casey and I am sure that no matter how badly Casey treats them, they will continue to support her unconditionally. After this is all said and done and Casey is hopefully convicted, I wonder if she will ever hear from some of her lawyers again?

Did you watch any of the Entwhistle trial? Lyon reminds me of that woman defense atty. whose name escapes me at the moment. In appearance that is.

To me what is not going to fly with the jury is trying to explain while KC was telling all these lies, her 2.5 year old child was at that time missing. The actions of early KC are going to get their butts kicked no matter who they bring on board.

I don't know about NOT crossing Cindy, there is a definite tension. I wonder if CA was a threat to KC with regard to males acquaintences. Perhaps CA was the pants in the family, driving force, sole provider so no one ruled her domain and anyone under her roof adhered to the Queens rule. So KC now can slap her down. Now GA, he seemed to take a deep breath of dissapointment that his #10 gave no acknowledgement as she paraded out the door after court. They deserve all they have sown, JMO.
Still very sad to watch. Ms. Casey Anthony has this surreal team of legal defense, renown for their accomplishments, minus one. WHY?

Look what she has surrounding herself with - in your face Cindy & George. Casey believes she's pulled all this together herself.
How or why someone pulled this together for her is still beyond belief.
I can't help that feeling that someone is at the helm of the money trail pulling a sick stunt to see how much money it takes to get someone guilty off. A bet between some multi millionaires? It's staggering.

Those two women's behavior in the courtroom today is just a continuation of their extremely warped (IMO) relationship...Casey ignors her mother and then her mother begs and pleads for Casey's attention until Casey gives her her attention and then Cindy ignors Casey just as soon as she gets the attention....then Casey begs and pleads until Cindy gives in and just as soon as she does...pow, Casey ignors Cindy....and it just goes on and on in a circle, a game of one upmanship. Funny thing is though, neither one of them could function any other way with each other. They both have been emotionally slapping each other in the face for several years and I have no doubt that the intricate "dance" they were doing with each other during Jun/Jul, reduced Caylee to the level of a possession...much like a favorite purse.

You know, anyone of Casey's friends could come forward and say "she admitted to me that she killed Caylee". Tony Lazzaro could say he heard her say she accidently blurted it out. He could say, he thought she was just joking around, or "lying" about it.
Then what would Casey do. Who would the jury believe?

Hey ya Crime - She's especially blaming her mom, and MOMMY dearest knows it. I saw her leave the courtroom, nary a nod to them. That sent a message to not only them, but anyone following this case.
I'm not impressed with Andrea Lyon, although she spoke much more professionally than Baez. Bringing her onboard at the last moment. I wonder if Jose googled DP qualified lawyers.
Anyone BRIEFLY research the cases she's been successful at?
Hi Dick, agree on the message Casey sent. You know, a couple of hearings ago, I had the position that Casey DID look back at her parents and smile, and everyone else was saying Casey really didn't do that voluntarily, but Jose whispered something in her ear (probably that it was the political thing to do, smile at her parents, so she did). Well, I believe I was wrong and everybody else was right. Casey is determinedly NOT acknowledging her parents.
Re: Andrea -- no, I haven't checked out her cases yet. She has a pretty impressive resume right off the bat, but -- we'll see what happens. It's intriguing to me that Jose found a FEMALE attorney (not as dangerous to his cojones) and equally intriguing that Andrea made a point, TWO points actually, of saying she was a team member. She was definitely placating Jose, but I'm sure when Jose was recruiting death-qualified attornies, he made it clear that "he" would still be in charge.
I think we'll see that change, but Andrea did play to that today.

I read up thread that someone said this new DP attorney that is not yet approved by the state bar or had the papers filed for her to be at the defence table cries in front of juries.
I am in Tx and in courtrooms all the time. Years ago we had an attorney (female) that started crying during closing arguments. The prosecutor stood up and said your honor maybe we should have a brief recess while Ms. So and So composes herself. The Judge said, yes I think it would be a good idea for Ms So and So to excuse herself and get a grip on her emotions so she can conduct herself in a professional manor. It was amazing how fast those tears dried up and she never tried it again. That crap doesn't fly down here so wonder how it will fly in Florida.

How in the world can G & C still support her when she won't even acknowledge them it court. When the attorneys are at a sidebar (no jury here) would be a great time to turn around and wave. imo Casey looks and acts more evil everyday.
Great picture, hadn't seen that one yet. As for the rest of your post: "Casey looks and acts more evil everyday"-well I would be hard pressed to find a "living" anthony that DOESN'T look and act more evil by the day. The only way I would enjoy having a look at any of these folks would be spiraling down after I use the "flush" function. My big, big question to all is-why do people keep saying how much the ants have supported casey? All I see is a lot of azz covering by the parents, period. I don't think anyone can connect the dots in how the ants act and absolutely any benefit that this has bestowed upon casey. IMO they are clinging to this trial to get any blood money they possibly can and that's it-just leeches. Also I am pretty sure that this moment in time is not the first time that cindy ant has made disparaging remarks about excess weight. Remember the fat, lazy bloggers? cindy saw casey the last time she was in court so she has to be aware of the weight issue and yet there's casey all stuffed up and nowhere to blow. casey looked like crap, do you think she (casey) didn't notice this? I just can't believe that cindy, who appears to me to be a bit weight conscious/obsessed, would not think it important to have her kid showing up in court looking like a sausage. I'm not picking sides but casey HAS to be there, cindy? not so much and yet she insists on trying to get attention that rightfully is caseys. I know this is rambling but I am tired of hearing how the ants love casey but never loved Caylee. I mean really? The ants love casey? I'd love to see some proof.

The court date has been on the calendar for today for weeks - the court agreed with the legal posters last night the motion was bad - only Baez would turn in such mess at the last minute. Everyone that has any passing touch of Casey Anthony ends up needing legal representation. She's responsible for keeping a lot of attorneys employed right now.
... yet we're all supposed to be beside ourselves with worry that the odious one gets a fair trial. Please. She's the ONLY person in this nightmare who has been/is being/will be treated fairly. Was Caylee? Were Casey's friends, boyfriends, ex's? How about the extended Plesea and Anthony families? How is this unholy mess fair to any of them? http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/news_columnists_ezorn/2005/11/behind_the_musi.html
Great read. She's got a lot of passion and doesn't care about the money.
This is something her father said about her:
"That came from her last semester of law school," says her father. "She was assigned to a judge who heard every kind of case. She said what she learned was that the lawyer who won was the one who was well-prepared. It wasn't the facts of the case or the brilliance of the attorney, it was the preparation."
How will she tolerate Jose? What must she think of him?

Hi AMS and many thanks to you and the many wonderful posters updating us throughout the day!
The THs on ALL the shows were absolutely raving about Lyon's reputation and credentials! The big question was - why someone of her stature would join the Casey Anthony team. Mike Galanos suggested that maybe it was for publicity for her upcoming book? Other thought she had enough money and was doing this for the interest?
The THs also defended her "crying in the courtroom" - a few saying they have done it themselves because these cases cause emotions to run high and most DP attorneys are passionately against the DP.
I was surprised when Mark Eglariash(sp??) loudly sang her praises!

When that Marti Mc Kenzie was on Nancy Grace she was going on and on about how it was SOOO cruel when the jailhouse taped the odious creatures reaction to the remains. The whole time Im thinking Cruel? No what was cruel is what casey did to Caylee now THAT is cruel.

... yet we're all supposed to be beside ourselves with worry that the odious one gets a fair trial. Please. She's the ONLY person in this nightmare who has been/is being/will be treated fairly. Was Caylee? Were Casey's friends, boyfriends, ex's? How about the extended Plesea and Anthony families? How is this unholy mess fair to any of them? Sorry, but I have real trouble generating any enthusiasm for the concept of a fair trial for Casey Anthony. I couldn't care less. :cursing:

You know, anyone of Casey's friends could come forward and say "she admitted to me that she killed Caylee". Tony Lazzaro could say he heard her say she accidently blurted it out. He could say, he thought she was just joking around, or "lying" about it.
Then what would Casey do. Who would the jury believe?
Casey's on some real thin ice. Even without the evidence.
bolded by me....or tone could say he heard her during her nightmares when she woke up in a cold sweat a couple of times....

I think if we stop using the word "love" in the same sentence with the name "Anthony," we'll be good. They have no idea about love, imo.

Well according to some links that Des put on our links page, she really believes in redemption. So, she wouldn't care if Casey killed Caylee.
As long as she can change, she wants her to have that chance.

I think she was granted a close up of his abilities this morning. I was shocked to see that LKB tolerate him as well as she appears to be, but with two high powered woman working side by side now, he is not going to be a major player for long.

You know I caught myself thinking about Caylee when I was saying that Caseys hair did look nice..I was thinking how does Caylees hair look? Caseys clothes are too tight and look funny on her (hardly a 10 thats for sure) but what do Caylees clothes look like on her?
Caylee will never know if she would have been a 10.
Its just sad and I hope that her family, at some point, actually TRUELY think about her.

Evening, missy.
Nooooo on the tape. In fact, still no decision made. To be continued. Surely this must be the video of Kennedy's assassination, as important as it seems to be. I'm so over it. Who the freak cares how she reacted? She hasn't had a single genuine reaction or spoken a single truthful word since all this began.

The best moment of the day was seeing Cindy's face when Casey didn't even look at her. I watched that video clip when Casey entered the court room and her exit. I believe that Bozo told Casey to look at her parents before her exit and Casey did not.
To me that says more than words could ever say about Cindy and Casey's relationship to date. C &G dont visit because Casey doesn't want them to.

They can. Are they? There is no way I'd ever believe it. Henry Lee was already caught lying about his "pay". First he said Pro bono, later that turned into we can't name the payee. :sneaky:

This morning when they announced the new DP attorney on the news they mentioned that she had a new book coming out...not sure if you discussed this...
Hi Really, I think the timing is very interesting on that.
She has defended the poor and ignorant, and many of them Black or Hispanic -- this may be her first middle class white girl, and ultra-high profile case. There may be some "romance" in this case for her, just in time to make it into her book :sneaky:

With AL's admission that she was not up to date on this case, I do not think it will be too many days before she starts to really see the picture that KC, the rest of the fingers, and JB have painted for a jury.
Also, it definitely will be interesting to see what motions she might start filing. I just can't see how the defense could switch gears with Casey's statements out there. MOO

Andrea's mother is head of the theater department at a university. I think we'll see some world-class acting.

Hi y´all!
Just found a little bit on Mrs Lyon.
First is about Madison Hobley :
http://www.law.northwestern.edu/wrongfulconvictions/exonerations/ilHobleySummary.html
But the second article I found is really interesting!!
Read for yourself. Will show you just how far this woman will go, jmo!
http://www.chicagoreader.com/features/stories/hottype/080131/
You know that little juvenile presser the "team" gave. They were all smirking and hiding behind Lyons now that I look back at it. They think she's their secret weapon. Especially TOOOODD! (Does anyone remember the Gilda Radner and Bill Murray skit were he was TOOOODD with those big blue rayon pants were pulled almost under his armpits)
This guy has nothing to do with DP and is there for I guess a "reconstruction" and he jumps in blathering "So why did they put the DP back on the table huh huh huh, ask them, ga head, I'm not worried" - woooooosh. (ok I paraphrased) What an IDIOT! But all of them snickering, cocky, they were pathetic!
