I have noticed twice now when the camera zooms in very close on Casey's face, that her eyes kind of start to roll back - like she is fighting falling asleep. It's for a split second, but it is there. Has anyone else noticed?

Motion about video being discussed.

This is a video of a video. It is not complete. Casey was taken there under the believe she was going to receive medical treatment in the medical office. They have learned there was an plan between OCSO, jail staff, medial staff to place Casey in front of a tv for 30 - 45 minutes watching WFTV coverage of a child's body being found. It is inhumane.

Sgt. Richardson said....

County Attorney interrupts to point out they only received this motion last night and they have not had time to prepare.

JB: We have the motion right here.

Judge: That is not the problem. It is she was lambasted with this last night and she has not had time to prepare.

County Attorney: Does not have a problem with the video being sealed. The County has a problem with all the allegations against the county.

State: We are not here to fight the seal of the tape. It is a public record. The public needs to be heard.

Judge: I need to know why you want this tape sealed. I will let LKB respond and the media needs a chance to respond.

Attorney for Casey: WE are not saying this tape will harm Ms. Anthony. It violates her right to privacy. The public right to know vs Ms. Anthony's privacy rights, Ms. Anthony's privacy rights come lst. She was taken to the medical office to seek medical attention, but this was a pre-planned set up. She was not rendered any medical attention what so ever.

County Attorney objects.

Judge says lets not get into specifics about what is alleged.

Casey's Attorney: The media frenzy in this case has put Casey in a bad light. The release of this tape will only add to the frenzy. Ms. Anthony did not slump in a chair per Ms. Unser. Ms. Anthony did not bring up football/basketball, Ms. Unser did. This is not different than if Ms. Anthony went in for medical treatment. The fact that it was used for another purpose we will go into at a later date.

Judge: Is there audio?

Casey's Attorney: No audio, just video. This will never be allowed as evidence at trial blah, blah, blah...

Judge: It is prejudicial?

Casey's Attorney: Violation of her constitutional rights under the 4th and 5th amendment.

Judge: Was counsel present?

Casey's attorney: Mr. Baez was precluded from seeing his client while Casey was put in front of the tv for 45 minutes. He was denied access. The video is unfair and prejudicial. She needs to be presumed innocent and receive a fair trial.

State: presenting case law to defense and the court for review pending the appropriate hearing when the media is represented.

LKB: Agrees with the honor to delay and hopefully after June 22. This not only to seal the video but also future taping.

Judge: I don't mind, but it is pointless.

Judge will try to set this for next week. State shaking her head, she is court next week.

I don't think you get to shower every day in jail. Never been there myself, so wouldn't know.

Baez did her a disservice by telling Casey to have no contact with her parents. I was thinking about that last night. If I were her Mom and Dad, I would probably be sure she had new, clean clothes. I don't know, I'm conflicted. LOL.

I agree. And while the state's attorneys can make me squirm when they start the eye rolling and chuckling at Baez, I have to say their reactions are at least genuine. Unlike the rest of the defense team, which gives the impression they all see nothing amiss in Jose's competence or presentation.

I guess it's a sign of the times in this country when actual qualified attorneys are willing to play along with a complete and utter buffoon of a lead attorney, for what appears to be their own interest in fame and furthering their careers. It's all about the show, apparently.

I noticed that Baez said "the case is not going to be handled as though this was an accidental death" (I'm glad they at last owned up to that)

I also noticed how Baez did insinuate that Jesse Grund had been considered a suspect.....I'm surprised that statement wasn't objected to being said on camera.......

The cell records and text messages will be handed over but not before the defense narrows down what it is exactly that they need....( particulary loved that)...They are trying so hard to find Kronk in the wrong, but it's not going to happen.....Just by the defense asking for records dating back to January 08 is an indication that they are trying to indicate that since way before Caylee was even murdered some people had connections to Casey.....specifically..Kronk, in some form or another.....

The defense is fishing...even with all their sophisticated team, they can not come up with a logical defense....jmo

Baez did her a disservice by telling Casey to have no contact with her parents. I was thinking about that last night. If I were her Mom and Dad, I would probably be sure she had new, clean clothes. I don't know, I'm conflicted. LOL.

In a previous court appearance her clothes didn't fit much better. Now it's getting worse. I think the cold shoulder bit might be a result of getting clothes that are so obviously awful, when Cindy shows up dressed in a new (or at least decent) outfit, while not flattering, fits her just fine.

I don't think that blouse Casey had on is new, if it were, it would have fit better than the last outfit she wore, instead it is even worse. Even taking into account her weight gain since her last appearance, if that was a newly purchased blouse, it would have been taken into account when being bought. I think it was something just yanked out of the closet. And I think that might be what is making the OC so pizzed. Imagine, her parents have a new boat, get their hair done, dress nicely, all do to the gravy train, that she (OC) set into place. Everyone benefits but her, probably according to her bizarre logic.

That's pretty much what I got from the hearing ... WHHHAAATT? All this anticipation about the motions hearing and it doesn't seem like the video or the turning over of cell records, etc. was settled one way or the other !! UGGGHH!
Of course Baez used yet another of his delay tactics: filing a lengthy amendment to a motion less than 24 hours before the hearing !!! Again, WHHATT? I wasn't aware there were no restrictions on that ... well at least Strickland only gave that one a week if I understood correctly ...:cursing:

And that is a FALSE statement.....therefore I believe he can be sued for saying that....It was te Anthony's (specifically Cindy) who made that accusation to LE.....

Loved the way the Judge smacked Jose down on the Commercial. That was a ridiculous way to introduce the DP Atty and she should be embarassed it was done. Her rep will be tarnished when this is all over.

I'm surprised that the statement wasn't objected to, on the grounds that once again Baez was using the media to reach a potential juror and lead them to think that there were other suspects in this case...when Casey has always been the number one suspect.....Only the Anthony's tried to put that out there...no one else.....

I never once heard LE consider anyone else but Casey....

Casey is entitled to a defense at the cost of tax payers. Baez just needs to ask for funding and show that his client in indigent. Think about the LP case. Scott's parents payed alot, but then their money ran out and Geragos had the state pay up.

I read about a case recently where a guy got a new trial because his bozo of an attorney didn't ask for funds to have experts testify at trial. The state, each state, has caps on how much they will pay for experts and such.

Actually i have a problem with caps like this. The state can use all funds it wants to test, to bring in the highest priced experts etc. To deny the defense from the same is simply wrong. It may seem "fair" if all you want is a guilty plea, but there are many cases of innocent men and women being found guilty and if only they could have afforded the tests and experts the state had, the right person might have been behind bars.

Remember for every law it doesn't just go towards the guilty, but the charged and innocent as well. Apart from simple fairness. Casey's case is very unusual, high profile enough that there are some pro bono's and probably someone funding the defense from behind the scenes. Yet joe blow who is arrested and indigent does not have a chance with the caps put on fees for tests and experts against the states unlimited funds for same. We have all seen the state hide exculpatory evidence before, and their experts twist it to their side just as much as defense experts to in interpretation.

A good example of where funds could have made a difference is the woman who was charged and convicted of murdering at least two (cant remember if it was two or 3) of her children by poisoning them with anti freeze. The country had her convicted long before trial and at trial all the states experts got her a guilty verdict.

Thank goodness two researchers decided on their own to follow up on it, they had a suspicion there was a genetic disease, and sure enough they found it. It caused the babies bodies to make ethelene glycol (antifreeze). Cant remember how long she spent in prison for no good reason...hope she was able to sue and get millions for it though.

Jose is a joke and I am awfully afraid that Casey is going to have cause for ineffective council if they don't sit Jose down where he has little to do but show up for the hearings and trial. I have been a legal secretary and then certified licenced paralegal for going on 39 years an that motion was an abomination.

Trying to watch and listen to video again. The Applebee's ad plays just fine and then it stops and starts constantly on the raw video , drives me nuts.

I am not sure what the big deal is about this video of Casey when she was brought to the health station. No prisoner has any expectation of privacy unless they are in conference with their attorney. At our jails everything is on video tape for the protection of the inmate and the staff.

There are only two ways that LE or Prosecution can not listen to or watch and that is conference with their attorney or clergy.

Maybe Florida is different.

I agree. Ms. Lyon has her work cut out for her. The way I see it, she'll need to set fire to the house of cards Baez has built to date and start over with entirely new construction. All while trying to keep Jose in check, dealing with the A's and their various attorneys, and trying to get the attention of the rest of her defense team spread far and wide, all primarily focused on the next high profile case they can attach themselves to.

The reason Jesse was checked out so thoroughly was because of the Anthonys' accusations ... he was never a suspect in any interviews or reports that I've read through, and never referred to as a person of interest ... for the first time i watched the entire proceeding on tv. some thoughts i would like you posters to answer me on.
first, that style blouse is supposed to fit tight. when she was walking it looked just as it should. when she was sitting it looked too tight, not not more than many of the young women are wearing.
her constant figetting with her hair is really annoying. maybe the new attorney can help her with that.
her coy little smiles at the attorneys. someone said only to males, not true, she did that as well with the new woman attorney.
imo, she looked like a little puppy dog so eagar for affection that any little pat they want to crawl in your lap.

Baez did her a disservice by telling Casey to have no contact with her parents. I was thinking about that last night. If I were her Mom and Dad, I would probably be sure she had new, clean clothes. I don't know, I'm conflicted. LOL.

I tell you from that motion it sounds all orchestrated and Casey was pulled from her cell while she was fine. Today my impression was that it was Casey already in distress and then pulled from her cell.

I recall reading/hearing that the Chaplain was the first to let Casey know and I swore one of Jose's colleagues was with her prior to that. Just Jose wasn't there. Also that motion reads of other inmates talking to Casey about it. What the heck!

This is really muddied and I wonder what the true story is. That motion is really misleading to what Casey knew and when and by whom. We need the entire scenerio not chopped up pieces.
