"who wasted the rest of some quality years because of his dominating control and selfish ways"

@Dianna

I think he had 50 yrs of quality time and he lived fast in the first 30yrs of those.
Now he has time to rest and think about them yrs. And maybe comes to his senses.
Would be nice for his kids. For all of them.
He is where he belongs now.
Maybe this will put them together. One can always hope!

Off to bed now! It´s 00:13am here.

Good night to all!

LL
Good night lucky!

After almost 6 1/2 years, finally there is some closure for Lana's family. Of course it should have happened long ago. Donna Clarkson has shown nothing but poise and class. I can't even imagine her loss and pain. Rest in Peace Lana. Justice has been served. PS will spend the rest of his days in a state prison. No longer will he be able to bully anyone ever again. He won't be a celebrity where he is going.
Thanks to Betsy for her absolutely amazing job covering this trial with such great detail. You made us feel like we were right there in the courtroom with you. So long to all of you fellow posters for now. Guess we'll see ya'all down the road for the civil trial. Warm Regards, JD

There was some conversation on this board about the color of the jump suit Spector will wear - and it's orange for a convicted killer. Whoever said blue was wrong. This day has been long in coming and Spector owes six years of freedom to our system which allowed him to buy this time. He is now where he belongs and should have been two years ago. He is now paying with something other than his money.

I am gratified to learn that Spector will be behind bars for a long time, as he so richly deserves.

My condolences to My 2 Cents on the very great loss of her mom. I miss mine very much, so my heart goes out to you.

And to Gary. I wish you all the best, friend! You are living proof that despite a bad start you can still end up well.

On to other perps, other cases.

Thisbe - keep us up on the "Drew" proceedings - from the source  I will be there WITH BELLS ON.

Bittersweet, indeed. When I woke up this morning, in spite of my previous humor (and even designing a t-shirt) - I felt nothing other than crushing sadness. Yes, I watched the Sentencing. An End, to be sure. But the reason for today hit me harder than it has ever done before.

I have only one Bell today - and it tolls.

Yes, that is so right. Lana's death was brutal, and so absolutely senseless. PS's complete disregard for the life of the many people at whom he brandished a gun over the decades is utterly reprehensible. He had so many years to reflect on his behavior and never did. AJ was correct: he played Russian Roulette and Lana finally got the bullet.

Rest in peace, dear Lana. :rose:

He was presentable...anyone who thought they'd bring him in an orange jumpsuit were probably disappointed. It just wouldn't happen and I'm glad it didn't (even though I'm not a "NG" supporter..just a bit of "decency" He did a horrible, horrible thing..but as I'd posted before..he wasn't Manson..or BK or the likes).

See him in Chino or Kern, I suppose...initially, that is. And Fidler knew..I do think..that the Sheriff's will have him on a bus today..for evaluation and the proper facility. He was not going to take the Bait from the defense.

Hope everybody on the G side is happy..with the results. And, those on the NG side are wondering and supporting whatever the appeal may bring, if anything.

My question (and it really isn't one..I'm just wondering what other people think as to "why")..is why the defense didn't ask "immediately" as they indeed can and SHOULD ask/demand..a "new trial"? Fidler didn't let it get past them..he "forced" them to ask for one..then he denied it. Very very smart judge, imo.

Funeral expenses are paid for the Clarksons..the city, municipality, courts, state..they get their "charges"..all paid up.

Now it's a matter of time, trouble, money, more time..more money...for the civil case.

I have a mental image of Li’l Phil sitting alone in a cold, dark prison cell chewing on a dried pork rind purchased at the prison commissary. What’s your mental image of this guy?

If that is so I hope the guy in the next cell takes the pork rind away from him. I'm with AJ. I feel not a whit of sympathy for Spector.

From my understanding, 18 is the minimum that he could serve.

I got this article in E-Mail yesterday and thought I'd share it.

I really wish I could be there in California today but as it would seem, a lady here that I had worked for, for about 4 years but have had nothing to do with in over a year, has decided to make me pay for the sins of my father and I seems to have my own Court issues that are keeping me here in Colorado :-(

Oh Gary, that's horrible! :crying:

I just wanted to say thanks to everybody  who kept me updated through this 2nd trial. I wasn't at all surprised with the sentence today but I'm glad Judge Fidler ordered PS to pay restitution to Lana's family for her funeral.

And to Gary, my thoughts and prayers are with you! It's been a pleasure having you here. <<hugs>>

A religious guy like PS surely wouldn't eat pork rinds! (sarcasm)

I heard AJ make that statement on KFI radio in Los Angeles.

I've written..deleted..written..deleted.

Fidler was very very smart..Weinberg..and the defense...I dont' KNOW what they were thinking to not do the "usual"..almost "demanded" ask for a new trial..but they didn't. did they actually THINK Fidler wouldn't figure this out?

I was flabbergasted at that. NOW..had Fidler been a wet behind the ears..with law clerks..or even CA lawyers who don't know which end is up as clerks..missed that?? Appealable...? yeah..kinda ..but WORSE for the defense team..WHAT were they thinking??

Maybe I am missing something very very serious here...but why in the world wouldn't a seasoned attorney do what all "out of law school attorneys" are taught to do..ask for a new trial..it's in the CODE. for goodness sakes..it never does any harm..the worst thing that can happen is a "NO"..if not asking..well the WORSE???

I didn't realize that they didnt' ask this at the end of PS2.

I am surprised too....... and I am not an attorney. I just assumed DW asked for it, but since we are only reading Sprocket's blog... it was not as obvious.

I think it was just one of those cheap little 'tricks' that Riordan seems to try, just in case someone will let it slide by. He and DW are a pair of bookends. Judge Fidler has their number and always did.

There was also a clip of RS saying that her goal was to help free the innocent man who was "her husband and her best friend." She also blamed the fact that he was found guilty in the media which really surprised me. I thought there was a second trial in the Criminal Courts Bldg. in Los Angeles!!!
