To the Legal Eagles here, can Mark Geragos practice in FL? I tried to google it and can't find the answer. For some reason, I keep thinking he'll pop up as the new DP qualified attorney. Just a WAG.. tia
As long as he is admitted pro hoc vice and meets the Florida requirements for a DPQ attorney. We know he tried one DP case. Katprint practices in California so she would be more familiar with the Ca requirements and how they compare to Fla. JMO

I wonder if there will be a hairy "Tilly".
Tinker seems to be one of only 2 who support it who are "verified", whatever that means.

Ok!! If Kathi's on it, I'm confident she'll get to the bottom of it. :)
I'm not sure it was my email that alerted her. I am sure she gets plenty. I have mixed emotions about this. But not just the animals were removed so was the large message board that people wrote on. So IMO why strip it completely down to nothing if it was the city..What did they do with the messages to Caylee. Thats it all I want to know..I also would like to add it looks creepy there again.

George, being emotional himself, caught her in an emotional moment where she allowed herself to think and to realize EXACTLY where Caylee was laying, which is in garbage bags in the woods.
To me, her tears are real, and she doesn't apppear to be acting.
Sorrow for killing her child. perhaps.
Except -- what George is telling her is, I love you, mom loves you, aunts-uncles-dogs love you, everybody loves YOU -- she is crying for herself.
I agree she looks shaken for a minute in this video. She is realizing what she has done. Sometimes when she's talking about seeing Caylee again, she's shaking her head "no" when she should be nodding her head "yes". She's lying.
ETA: P.S. Why does she look at her finger every time she wipes away a tear? She inspects each tear carefully, every one. I think I saw Cindy do this once or twice too.
Casey's goal during this meeting with George was to reinforce that they needed to make her bond. Over and over, she comes back to needing to be home to help look for Caylee, wanting to be home already when Caylee comes home and not having to wait for two-three-four days--it's all about her attempting to manipulate so the HandFam can raise the money for her bail. She doesn't really care about anything else.
George makes the point he's even tried to borrow money from family, but to no avail. She still doesn't let up--it's all about George and Cindy finding bail money to get Casey's a$$ out of jail.

I don't understand why the attorney's identity is such a secret. Except in situations where the identity or whereabouts of the client is a secret (for example, when attorneys are consulted by clients who may have been involved in a hit and run accident or may have warrants out for their arrest), attorneys are normally willing to say if they have been retained to represent a particular person. An attorney's formal representation - when they become "attorney of record" with the court - is a matter of public record. It's like someone being very secretive concerning whether or not they own a particular house. Anyone who wants to know can go down and check the government records.
Of course, secrecy is common during negotiation processes. Maybe the death qualified attorney is not yet a done deal. Maybe Baez doesn't want to claim that super-duper-wonder-attorney Mr. A is going to join their team, but then end up with not-quite-as-good-but-legally-qualified Mr. B.

Okay I took tax law in 1986, and the Reagan tax reforms were passed the day I took the final exam. I always refer clients tax questions to an accountant. LOL
But IIRC the first $12,000 is tax free. The donor only pays taxes on amounts over this amount. So again assuming a husband and wife they could have given George and Cindy $48,000 in 2008 and then on Jan 1 2009 they could give another $52,000. The $5,000 figure could be to max out 2008 since they would not have begun the gifts until the latter half of 2008.

They ~could~ give George and Cindy $500,000, for example, but they would have to pay a gift tax on the amount over the limit ($500,000 – 52,000 = $448,000).

We have seen Baez lie before. IMO his most spectacular falsehood so far was the fraudulent affidavit which was supposedly signed by Baez' prior quasi-spokesman Todd Black of Press Corps Media, but then "Todd Black" turned out to be a "security name" that several people used including convicted felon Gil Cabot. Of course, which falsehood is the most spectacular is a matter of opinion as there have been several spectacular falsehoods coming from Baez. Other examples include falsehoods concerning his background, experience and prior cases he handled and then it turned out that he merely worked on as a law clerk for other attorneys who were actually handling the cases, and so forth. Last fall, there was Baez' motion to compel release of the prosecution's discovery and it turned out that he had simply not paid the bill for the copying costs as he was required to do. And of course Baez is a stranger to the truth with regard to the actual facts and evidence in the Casey Anthony case.
Baez particularly seems to make a lot of bogus statements to the press because Baez knows that those statements are not under oath and are not official statements so he cannot constitute be prosecuted for perjury or making false official statements.

It's got to be Jose's Moment of Draaammmmaaaaaaa. Or so he hopes.
In criminal cases, I usually have not filed any official "attorney of record" paperwork before I verbally enter my appearance as attorney of record. In civil as well as criminal cases, the only time there has been any issue is if there was a different prior attorney of record. I have to make sure the court knows whether I am making a "special" (substitute) appearance for that prior attorney of record who will remain the official attorney of record or whether I am substituting in as the official attorney of record and taking over responsibility for further handling of the case.
So, it would not be particularly extraordinary for an attorney to stand up and introduce himself to the court as having joined the Casey Anthony defense team as their death penalty qualified attorney. It would indeed be quite dramatic, but I am not clear on how the defense is helped by having a lot of high drama during pretrial hearings. If I were Baez, I would rather have the proceedings seem routine and boring so that it would not be the headline story on the news shows every night and would fade away from the public consciousness (like the Melissa Huckabee case seems to be doing except when there are circumstances beyond the defense's control such as new charges keep being filed re additional victims.)

Thanks for answering Lapis.
So did they disclose where the money was coming from or did they just swear to the fact that it was not tied to Casey selling her story or pictures?
What if they money was coming from Caylee's father? Wouldn't that be relevant to this case? Or say the money was coming from illegal activities Casey was involved in. Wouldn't that be relevant?
TIA
Whoever it is the court has ruled that it is not relevant. I am not sure that it would be relevant in any event. With respect to illegal activity do you mean by Casey or the anonymous donors?

I suppose it could matter if it somehow related to the murder case. However, the court has prohibited the parties from sharing the information with anyone including LE. So LE would have to start from scratch to try and find out who's paying. Those in the know are prohibited from telling so it would be difficult. I'm sure that they have other things to do including additional investigation and testing with respect to the murder case. JMO

I doubt the Riegers are the ones paying the A's. But they may have been looped in by the CT family. Klaas wouldn't necessarily be privy to all that.

Not too far. The A's were @ the National Vigil for Hope rally comforting Crystal. That's the organization Michelle is chairperson of. I guess, tho, not all people feel like they can "uninvite" people to a public gathering like Cindy does. Now, Ron Cummings can say he doesn't want the A's to insert themselves into the Haleigh case, but I don't suppose Michelle would probably go so far as to tell Cindy she isn't invited to a public gathering.

I don't recall anything being said about George's sister's family being millionaires, but I do recall George saying Cindy wanted him to quit the LE job to go into the car business since his BIL owned a dealership and was so successful financially. However it seems the car business wasn't George's cup of tea, and he failed at this endeavor.
IIRC, the car dealership was his dad's @ the time George retired from the police force to go into the family business.

Hi All:
I've been meaning to post a reply I got from Cindy to an e-mail I sent to her "foundation." What I did was simply send her a copy of the press notice that Ron Cummings released through his lawyer where he made it clear that he did not want any involvement by the Anthony's in the search for Haleigh. It said "The Anthonys have their own agenda, as witnessed by their recent media tour. The facts relating to the death of Calee Anthony, which resulted in the first degree murder charges against Casey Anthony, are in no way similar to Haleigh's disappearance."
Well I got a reply back from Cindy or maybe it was George that said:
"Ronald does not like us supporting his x-wife and her family. It is so sad that Haleigh is never going to be found with that type of attitude. We wish Ronald and his family well."
This is what I wrote back to them:
"No that's not it. Ronald does not like YOU period. He does not think Haleigh's situation is the same as Caylee's. And as much as you would like to pretend that it is, he is not going to play your game. He thinks you are using Haleigh for your own agenda. And you are. You are.... and you know that you are. It's repulsive.
Scammers. Get real jobs. "
Notice how they twist things. They cast Ron as the bad guy who does not want his ex-wife to have support from anyone . They say that this attitude will keep Haleigh from ever being found. They imply that their support for Crystal will help Haleigh to be found but Ron is standing in the way. However, they wish him well. (Sure they do.)
Sick. And here's why. Ron clearly stated why he does not want them involved and it had nothing to do with Crystal. It is because he knows they have a scheme going and he does not want to be used. He was clear as a bell about it. But they twisted his clear intent to make it something that has nothing to do with them. They are masters of self-deception and master manipulators and phony because after saying Ron is standing the in way of Haleigh's being found they "wish him well " to make themselves look understanding.

I think Ron is just pointing out that he is not falling for any Anthony BS and he wants the A's to stay away from HIM and wants the public to know why he wants them to stay away from him. The A's are butting in and using Crystal and he knows that too but he can't stop her from associating with them. I wonder though if Crystal is really all that tight with the A's or if they are just imposing themselves on her and she's not firm enough to get rid of them.

Spots, it's not to protest the spoof site from making money, but to use it as a platform to put a message out there to not let the Anthonys make any money either. Since it is a spoof site, I don't feel bad about supporting a petition to take it down, or whatever Michelle Bart has in mind. It's an opportunity to take their petition and turn it into a voice to speak against the Anthony foundation, and to put in a good plug for Tim Miller, Marc Klaas and other honest and worthwhile missing childrens' organizations.
I don't have feelings for or against the spoof bear site and don't see why anyone else should either, since it is a spoof site. But Michelle Bart's petition did open a door to a lovely canvas to put out some information against the Anthonys, and for real and honest foundations.

I think you're right that the reason the Anthonys give for not visiting Casey is not the truth. My best guess would be because Casey refuses to see them either by her own wishes or by orders of Jose (or maybe both). But I thought it was very strange that BC said on LKL that he saw no reason why they couldn't visit Casey. Of course, Cindy gave him a dirty look (guess they don't discuss everything prior a tv appearance).

And infuriating because when all is said and done, they still seem to be getting away with it  They will keep on keeping on, keep on pushing, until they are smacked down so hard they can't get up again. Sadly, I don't see that happening unless charges are brought against them for involvement in covering up Caylee's murder  It sickens me to think they may get away with their actions and continue on.
Ya know though when you think about it they aren't really getting away with anything in the sense that they must be getting thousands of e-mails telling them how much they are despised. I don't think they really blow that off as if it was nothing. THEY KNOW THEY ARE PARIAHS
IN THE MINDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE. They know it and that knowledge has to keep them from ever being at peace with their selves and their lives.

straight from GA explaining the family tree: starting at handwritten page 1794:
one sister has mental issues: he states to LE he was wondering if it skipped on over to Casey.....(this sister is local)
another sister Ruthie: she has the rich husband
handwritten page 1797.
IMO
best regards,
Pru
*waiting on maggot evidence....*
And, interestingly enough, neither of his sister's husbands seem to be working in the car dealership business in Ohio. John and Sophie? the "mental" sister live in FL. Ruthie of the rich husband lives in the Carolinas and the rich husband is some sort of engineer that travels all over the world, according to George. I KNOW there was a BIL (married to George's sister, IIRC her name is Kathy) that was running the family (Anthony) car dealership in Ohio. Not one mention there.
As I was scrolling down to get to pages 1790+ I was distracted by the parts where George is saying Casey lies so much, said a lot of things about her that they now deny....She lied, she stole, mention of her not being so good of a mother, etc etc etc.
I really, really think that Cindy and George ought to review the LE/FBI interviews they did, especially George's, to refresh their memories about what all they said before they head to the next round of depos. Heck, before they head off to the next leg of the alibi tour. Perhaps they would back off and shut up ---nah, that's never going to happen.

I agree MrsH, but I don't think they have ever been at peace with themselves, so it's not like they are suddenly "missing" something. It's just status quo for them, only now they have some money and fame and they're liking that quite a lot.
I don't think being despised is new to them, so they handle all the emails with adrenaline and hammering back and being aggressive, proving they are "right" to themselves. Again, I think this is just status quo for them. So that they are getting money and media exposure and opportunities such as boating and drag racing and media shows are happy events for them, canceling everything else. Cindy is the ultimate in "I don't care what anyone else thinks." She really doesn't. She's a sociopath through and through and right now, I think she's getting paid well for that. I hope it changes.

thanks so Ruthie is the rich one the other sister lives in Ohio so Ruthy would be the crazy one then right if she is local:confused: one is Kathy Eddy married to the one that runs a car lot in Ohio IIRC
But, George only mentions 2 sisters, the one in FL and the one in the Carolinas. He doesn't even mention the one w/the car dealership in Ohio. So, does that mean he has THREE sisters, not 2 as has been mentioned?

I don't think it would be her, her husband isn't the multimillionaire engineer that travels the world. As I was reading along, evidently there WERE some family members (@ least one) who were in Orlando to help out. He mentions the local sister--and here he talks about "depressive" which wouldn't be what ails Casey, because Casey is so up and bubbly, ya know. Anyway, seems the local sister was to help man the kiosk (and he doesn't give a time frame, but it had to be early on, for him to talk about it in the LE interview) but she wasn't there on time, and there is a conversation, according to George and he tells her to forget helping out.
Wonder if any other of the family were in Orlando to help out? That was before the webcam was focused on the A's house, so guess there could have been family members around, early on. Wonder, tho, what happened to anyone once the media really started hot and heavy on the A's? I would think any intelligent reporter would have picked up on any of the family being there--identifying them in pics and videos and such?

I've thought of that possibility too. I don't know how far the defense could take that, but there is every symptom of the world's most dysfunctional family here. These relationships are toxic and deadly, and a little girl ended up dead. It would not surprise me to see the defense put something out there about what Casey was exposed to and how she grew in that household, kind of a "she couldn't help it" scenario. I just don't know how far they could take it.

If it's Geraldo as some suspect, he's Baez' buddy--I don't know, maybe he thinks Baez is the newest F Lee Bailey or something. Besides, what does it matter to him (if it's him) about Baez' effectiveness, if he's in it for the exclusive?
Anyone else, I would sure think they would "get it" that they are on a sinking boat, and I don't mean the SS Caylee Marie. I agree, you would think they would stipulate that she hire effective counsel if they are going to foot the bill.

If the truth be known Casey's (less of an attorney) Baez will probably use this as his defense. Truth be known when Cindy was on LKL and said the reason why she does not go see Casey is because of the tapped visits and the media. Truth be known Casey just does not want to see Cindy at all.:sneaky:
JMO
I think you are right about that, Dianna, and also think part of what comes into play for Casey is that she can stay in her own denial when not faced with family visits. She can pretend none of this ever happened. With family visits, she's put on the hot seat and that's a place she doesn't want to be. She's comfortable not facing anything, not looking at anything. It's like her reputed outcries, "this isn't real!" when she learned the remains of a child had been found so close to her house.
She can maintain "this isn't real!" as long as she doesn't have the family members in her face. That's much more comfortable for her.

I think I remember that rumor being around last fall. It would seem to me that, if she is, she would not be able to hide it @ this point. OTOH, the only pics I have seen of her was @ the public memorial--and she was sitting down, so it was hard to tell. Not much in the news @ all about Lee, let alone his life w/Mallory, that I have read. Guess there's nothing to report, or the reporters don't think Lee and Mallory are of much interest?

Can he yes. May he no. It is a violation of the jail rules to bypass the prison monitoring system in this way. Privilege only attaches to the communications between attorney and client, not to the client and her parents even if through the attorney. JMO
Also, it is common for attorneys taking the deposition of witnesses to demand production of all written, electronic and other documents reflecting communications between the witness and the opposing attorney, and to question the witness under oath about their contacts with the opposing attorney. If the witness has been voluntarily meeting with one side and/or given voluntary statements to one side but refuses to speak to the other side, that shows bias. If the witness has been shown police reports or deposition transcripts of other witnesses or pages from their prior written statements or other documents to refresh their memory, that shows lack of independent recollection. And so forth.
By way of example, if I represent a plaintiff in a personal injury case and I am taking the deposition of the so-called Independent Medical Evaluation doctor hired by the defense, I want to see what records he was given so that I can challenge the validity of his (always adverse) medical opinion which was based on those records. I have even been able to change the IME expert's professional opinion by providing him with additional records that were omitted by the other side, which is always wonderful when you can steal the other side's expert and make him your own. Similarly, I have persuaded witnesses to admit that the reason they reviewed the police report immediately before their deposition was because they really don't remember the events very clearly anymore.
So, the prosecution can take Cindy, George and Lee's depositions and (in theory) force them to disclose every letter, every note, every email, every instant message, every twitter, every smoke signal between them and Baez or anyone else on Casey's defense team.

Hi all, just jumping in here, I've been reading the last 5/6 pages or so to see where you all are (were, since these were earlier postings). I haven't been online for the last couple of days and feel so out of it.
Today I read Annie's depo, I haven't watched the vid of it, that wasn't in the links thread...unless I missed it....and I have to admit I found myself wondering about many things she said.
The first being that she said when she was with Casey ALL NIGHT, and when Casey seemed to want to tell her things about Caylee and what was going on, she backed off and didn't want to 'be the person who knew everything'. Are you kidding me? I would have pumping that girl for every detail that she was willing to spill. I have to wonder why she wasn't wanting to be any part of of it? I believe she was well prepared by her attorney and altho she gave up alot of info, she also held back and I am wondering what it is.
Perhaps as you say DT, she's up to it to her eyeballs in regard to the Xanex. Maybe she knows more in regard to who was watching Caylee...as she said she thinks someone was watching her...and doesn't want to name that person or persons, male or female.
I have to wonder, as I have for a long while, if Lee and/or Mallory weren't the ones watching Caylee when Casey was out partying or whatever and Cindy refused to watch her. Just a thought. But, it could explain why Cindy has been so vehement in blaming others....she certainly doesn't want her only other child dragged into this and we've all seen to what extent she will go to to protect and stand up for Casey, surely she would do the same and more to protect Lee.
I'm just free flowing thoughts here, but bottom line, I think Annie D knows more, learned more from Casey and is holding back something. I think she's askeered of being dragged into the murder itself, which I can totally understand, but her fear may have and is continuing to hinder the truth about the circumstances of Caylee's death. Not that she had anything to do with that, I still believe Casey did that on her own. Oh, but wait a minute, isn't she the one who told LE in her first interview she thought Casey was too stupid to have done it alone? OMG!
As I said, I'm free flow thinking here.
I do think she may hold a few of the pieces to this huge puzzle...maybe a corner or two, maybe some of the border pieces of the puzzle...and out of fear and/or embarrassment is keeping them to herself.

Who is this woman? what's her background?
Why does she inspect each tear that comes out of her eyes? I've seen Cindy do this once or twice, too. So strange. It's like a toddler's fascination with, ummmm, what comes out of his body. Very strange behavior for an adult.
Maybe checking to see if there IS a tear on the finger? Nope, finger not wet, I need to work a little harder to produce a tear. Okay, a little wet there, let's see if I can work up enough for the cameras to catch the tears. Okay, this is looking better. Now, I need to sniffle along with this, too. My sniffles evidently haven't been loud enough. :chicken:
Let's think this one over for a second. She is staying out of the news, away from media and controversy, there is no proof connecting her family with paying for anything to do with the anthonys and yet GEORGE says she's crazy and you are running with that because george said it? Alrighty then! Did anybody of relevance confirm the crap said of this woman? TIA
I do believe Shirley Pleasa mentions George has a sister w/mental issues in one of the emails she turned over, or maybe in her LE interview. IIRC, anyway. Of course, don't know if she would know this first hand, or if she would be going on something either George and/or Cindy had related to her.

IIRC, the car dealership was his dad's @ the time George retired from the police force to go into the family business.
Let's be clear about this. George's dad owned a Used Car Lot. Unlike a New Car Dealership. George did not Retire from the Sheriff's Department. He resigned after a little more than nine years to go into business with his father at Cindy's request if you can call it that. George got into a fight with his father at the Used Car Lot and threw his father though a plate glass window. He was then gone. He opened his own Used Car Lot which failed. The Anthonys then moved from Niles, OH to Orlando.
Now let us cut through the BS here. George was a failure in business and he is now known as a failure as a husband, father and grandfather caused by a controling B who was and will always be in this for the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Cindy Anthony wanted Champagne on a beer income pure and simple.

Hi soda pop girl, haven't seen you in awhile
Wouldn't Mark Klass know if this family was the one donating money? I would think if he knew, he would make it public.
I'm not sure how Mark Klass would be able to find out that information? And, I don't think he's the kind of guy would would out someone who wanted to remain anonymous, even if he has a way of knowing. Now, LP? He'd be shootin' off his mouth for DAYS if he knew who the benefactor is--just my opinion that he would, of course.
Would LE know by now who is paying the defense?
If not, could they do that?
If they do know, what way would they have gone about obtaining this information.
I think there was already an attempt of sorts thru some court hearings to try to find out how Casey's defense is being funded. Evidently, the court sided w/Baez that it's no one's business.

Abby, I just watched todays 'tubes. This isn't a new position for Albi -- you can go back and see where she postulated this quite a while ago. But today's 'tubes are a bit more focused and intense. I don't know how I feel about the theory, entirely, but she does pull it together quite neatly--and those pics she has up in the 'tubes are incredible, in terms of identical likenesses between George and Caylee. It is interesting that DNA results re: Lee were announced, and he was cleared. And that's all we heard.

Although Annie conducted herself well during the depo in contrast to G&C, I still think she was not altogether truthful. I cannot believe she would not let Casey talk about what happened to Caylee. She was there ALL night! Geesh!
JMO
I agree. Since the courts know the information and have said, case closed on that, so to speak, I can't imagine why in the world LE would continue to be concerned about that. On to the other UNKNOWN things that need to be investigated. IMO

OMG, you're the one they told me about. I come and go and luckily have missed you, 'til tonight.
Unless there is a Gag Order which Baez argued against. Why do you think he did that?
So he and anyone he can get to, will be sure to keep the case in the news everyday. The A's, Jose and his stupid comments. Probably even Brad Conway. Keep making noises about the Zanny depos, trying to get them delayed, without the gag order they can keep that going in the press as long as they possibly can. Already, the second interrogation of the A's has been delayed. Since LE isn't out there everyday w/pc's, since the State Attorneys aren't on every tv show in the US, Jose has to find SOME way for there to be too much media coverage so he has more leverage for a COV when the time comes. IMO Since LE and the State aren't leaking info (like he claims) he has to do it himself.
I must say, in most cases, it seems the defense WANTS the gag order. Can't remember Mark Geragos' stand on the one in the S Peterson case, but I think he also did not want a gag order, and got around it by letting the elder P's loose on the media. IMO

Amy, I've always wondered about that. I think the judge had to be given some pretty encompassing financial information to pass on that. On tonight's board, someone mentioned confirming that a CT family was paying for Casey's defense, sprung her from jail the second time, and was paying C&G a monthly stipend. Given that kind of confirmed information, the judge would waive all need to disclose, I think.
This funding information is speculation at this point, but something powerful must have been presented to the judge to move past this.

I must admit that her theory ties together a whole lot of loose ends--for me, at least--from the very first time Casey said in a jail interview, "don't worry, I haven't said anything". Albi's position takes it much further, and very logically. It will be interesting to see. My big question is, if they do have positive DNA results, why hasn't LE acted in some way? Would they keep known results from C&G -- how could they, if the tests were made -- C&G would have to know the outcome. Surely they couldn't believe they could bluff their way through that.

Annie, shekeria only proves what Abraham Lincoln said. "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."
I have never thought they A's are making much money off of this. There are rumors but I am not convinced. And I think Cindy cares a lot about what people think. A whole lot. That's why she's always trying to be on TV and get noticed and saying things about what a wonderful mother Casey is and how the four of them are going to go to heaven and that God is on her side. I think all of her efforts are based on her caring about what people think. As far as the drag racing it was foolish, and ridiculous for her to do that, given she has a daughter facing the death penalty and a grand daughter dead less than a year. That is so stupid it's off the scale of stupid. She thinks she's a celebrity and she's not she's a spectacle and nothing more than a well known nutcase. Their media exposure has done them no good at all. That LKL debacle was a disaster and those depos were horror shows..
Cheer up crimeq! The A's are the freak factor that the media has not yet grown tired of. But hey will grown tired of them and then we will never hear of them again. Their foundation will fail because they can't get along with anyone long enough to make it work.
bolding mine:
I am thinking that, because of all the protests (@ least I assume the posters on this and other message boards DID send letters of protest) to whomever oversees non-profit foundations in FL, this foundation will be CAREFULLY monitored, and that its downfall will probably also come from misuse of funds. Won't take the powers-that-be long to determine whether or not it is functioning on the up and up. IMO. Methinks the A's and their fellow board members of the foundation had better read up VERY carefully about how to function w/the foundation. Wonder if Brad Conway's scope of practice would include being able to watch for the legalities, and to make sure the foundation is run LEGALLY?

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: To the best of your knowledge, did you ask the tow truck driver or anybody that was on the lot that day had they been in the car or done anything to the car? You didn`t ask that?
GEORGE ANTHONY: I didn`t even ask. And as a matter of fact -- I`m crazy. I wish in some ways I just would have left it the way it was. But I couldn`t stand the smell. I mean, even the pizza had a particular odor to it that was just -- whew. It would take you back. But this specific odor...
GEORGE ANTHONY: It was a totally different smell. It`s -- garbage and this other decomposition smell are totally different. That`s very distinguishable.

Yes, I guess nobody can take the money back once Cindy has spent it.
Shades of Casey, here?
It's all part of a defense tactic, I'm thinking. Keep the lime light off of Casey til everything about her dies down and they can take it to trial in hopes if she's not in the public eye everyday they may be able to handle the defense of this case a lot better.
Then we have Cindy who continues to want to be in the lime light for her own self centered self and for financial gain.
No one has heard hide nor hare about Lee in weeks and George, well George is just a lump at her side.
They all think it will work it's way around and benefit everyone.
In the mean time you may be right. Caylee and Baez will throw Momma under the bus.
JMO
bolding mine:
It seems to me if the plan is to keep Casey out of the news everyday, they would all best just back into their holes and keep their own faces out of the news. For some time now, if the A's and Jose had not been putting their faces in front of the cameras, things would already have died down enough so there would only be reports on motions, etc, as they come up. If the A's had just gone to the depo without a lot of on air time protesting them, they would have been over and done with. If they had just answered the questions in the depo in a straight forward manner w/out all the drama and hystrionics, they would have just been another depo, not even newsworthy except to say the depo had been held and is over.
If the A's and Jose had acted like any other family and lawyer in the many other murder cases in this nation, we would not have had wall-to-wall coverage on the Nancy Grace show for 10+ months. Again, this would have been like any other case LE investigated, and the state would have prosecuted.
Sure, and it was sensational in the beginning (as really, one would think many others that we DON'T hear of are) but all that would have died down, the reporters aren't going to keep on about a case where the family and lawyers say, no comment, and don't give them daily exhibitions of bad behaviour to report on. If Jose had not protested the gag order, there would be little to nothing to report on. If they think their being so "out there" keeps the focus off of Casey, they missed the mark by a long shot. The only thing they have managed to do is to keep the focus off of CAYLEE, the victim in this sad, sad case. IMO

Hello Everyone!! Just got home a short while ago...so i am way behind.
(like always)
Just my opinion, but I think that Annie is scared chitless that Caylee may have been overdosed or her death is related to xanax.
Also I would have asked Annie where she keeps her xanax. I would ask her if she has ever kept xanax in her purse, and then i would ask her has she ever left her purse and kc alone while she used the bathroom etc. AD may have given kc xanax when kc claimed she needed it to cope with her mom, and "dramma" at home.
I would not put it past kc to brag that she can get xanax. Is this the time frame that she is hanging with a new crowd, and is smoking pot. I really think that kc is like a chameleon, when she is re-creating herself.
In my own opinion I think that after xanax questions were out of the way she seemed a tad bit more relaxed.....
I would have asked AD what she was going thru at the time..as she alludes to some sort of personal problem........and then checked to see if she were truthful.
Also, I remember kc telling AD that they couldn't talk because they thought that LE had bugged the house. I think it is odd that ad spent the night with kc...it sounds like they have not been close for some time....so whose idea is it for ad to be dragged into this mess.?......and on the car ride over AD touches on some sort of person issues that she discussed with G & C ..... and she is told to hide when they pull into the neighborhood....
I do not think that she is being 100 percent truthful, and if get the feeling that she is afraid of something.......who knows what bs c&g may have told her......."the kidnappers are watching us, and now they will be watching you" or something along those lines.....

I was reading on the holiday thread earlier today and there was a video of George and Cindy. Cindy just sat there, I do think she had probably taken some medication before that interview, she was about to nod off, and I don't think it was from lack of sleep. She did raise her head and look @ George a couple of times, I tho't maybe she was going to correct him on some point, but she never got so far as to open her mouth before her head dropped again.
It surely was different, seeing George speaking freely and uninterrupted being in the presence of Cindy!!!

I do not think that she is being 100 percent truthful, and if get the feeling that she is afraid of something.......who knows what bs c&g may have told her......."the kidnappers are watching us, and now they will be watching you" or something along those lines.....
moo jmo
It is weird, it's like C&G were wanting Casey and Annie to get together to "get their stories straight", just like C&G wanted so badly to get together with Casey at the jail--unrecorded, unsupervised--which would have been for them to all "get their stories straight." Something was important enough to get Annie over to the Hopespring house and spend the night, to "get stories straight."
There is such collusion in this case among the players. I just hope everyone involved pays, when it comes to the end.

I came here to the links page to see what was going on because its book marked and the quickest route to the latest news links, obviously , certainly THAT should be self explanatory, or maybe NOT to YOU, but anyway ......
While here I was curious to see what the latest talk was concerning the latest details and LOW and BEHOLD Cindy , George and Lee were the HOT topics , STILL ? HUH ...was shocked actually and it then occurred to me as never before that while most scream out so hard on how vile ,sick and nauseating this family makes them , they just can't get enough of it .....now EXCUSE ME ,but if people make them that SICK ,what in the world would they get by feeding off that all day and night long .....
Now obviously I am DEAD ON ....just observing the obvious .....you can move along now ...TIA

I was reading on the holiday thread earlier today and there was a video of George and Cindy. (I SO wanted to post, but it was already closed :crying:) Anyway, it is the one and only time I saw the two together where GEORGE was doing the talking.
Amy, was this the video of them back in November, after what would have been DCasey's foray into the woods to look for Caylee's body? And that it's possible Cindy knew at that point, for the first time, that Caylee was indeed dead and dumped? That particular video of Cindy was way out of character for her, and she really did look like she was drugged to the max.

How sad. George was smelling the decomposition smell of his granddaughter. How can he write that off now to pizza.
But very interesting that he said even the pizza had a different--unforgettable--smell. It had taken on the odor of human decomposition.
Commenting on my own post here:
There may have been some kind of defensive transferrence for George and Cindy; from what George says here, there WAS a pizza in the trunk (or remains, who knows how much) and there's been discussion about whether or not there was actually a pizza - but here he says "even the pizza" took on that "unforgettable" smell.
OK. So if there's a real pizza, and it has that "unforgettable" smell, in their denial they make the pizza the cause of that odor. They have something physical that holds the smell (of decomposition) and that physical piece of something that they have is pizza. It DOES smell like decomposition--but, it's attached to the pizza, so it becomes the smell of the pizza. Denial at work--but denial is a very powerful psychological protector. Maybe this is the explanation for the "pizza" smell.

I don't buy the bad pizza smell theory at all Crime. There isn't enough matter on a few pieces of pizza, to make it smell horrible like human decomposition. The sun and heat would dry those things out in 24 hours, and then they would be like hard as a rock.
What I would really like to know about the pizza is when it was bought, where it was bought, and what time it was bought. In other words, when did the pizza actually enter the trunk?

I don't know if I see Cindy as protecting Casey --- somewhat maybe -- but more like Cindy protecting Cindy. (You are way ahead of me in listening to Annie's depo.)[/QUOTE
Hi darlin
You are right, Cindy is protecting Cindy. She has this vision and has tried to portray herself as the perfect mom and perfect grandma.
As her daughter sits in jail, accused, indicted and looking at the DP for killing Caylee...Cindy's grandaughter...she has done anything and everything she can, including lying, to 'protect' Casey so as not to have that vision of her perfect mom vision destroyed.
If she ever stops protecting, covering, lying for Casey she also loses that vision of herself as the perfect grandma. She failed to protect that baby in the most horrible of ways. Her own daughter killed her grandaughter. Her perfect grandma vision is destroyed as well. Cindy is protecting Cindy. If Lee has done anything along the path that led to the death of Caylee....such as something as innocent as being someone who 'watched' Caylee when Cindy refused when Casey was out partying or doing whatever she was doing when she wasn't working...well, perfect mom Cindy certainly missed a whole lot of what was really going on with her kids didn't she? AND she missed a whole lot of red flags that were most likely going up all over the place with Casey leading to death of her grandaughter.
I see Cindy laying in bed at night going over and over all of this and realizing that she may have been the root of all of the evil that has come about. Instead of wanting to do whatever she can for her grandaughter, to help bring about justice for this lost angel, she thinks of how she can best keep her vision alive. How she can best continue to keep this 'perfect' family vision alive. In protecting Casey, she is protecting herself and her deluded vision of perfection. As someone...sorry, can't remember who, I was speed reading...said...Cindy needs a full psycho eval done on herself.
No she didn't kill Caylee, but I feel as if she was the orignal stone that was thrown into the pond that rippled out and brought about the final crash upon the shore of that pond that killed Caylee Marie. For her to tell the truth, admit what she thought about the smell in the car, for her to admit that she was so desperate to find Casey that month she was hearing nothing from her, to send Lee out to look for Casey, to write that MySpace page, to continue to lie to LE, FBI, in her depo with M&M....all of it...is not to protect her daughter Casey or stand up for grandaughter Caylee...it is to protect herself.
God help her when Casey is convicted and she realizes (if she ever does) that she has failed to not only protect her daughter, she failed to protect her grandaughter.
The major being she failed to protect her baby grandaughter.
Poor little Caylee was born into a family and had no chance what so ever.
But, she was born for a reason....she has brought together hundreds and hundreds of people who loved her on sight and care enough to continue to stick together out of that love. A love that has spread among perfect strangers. I am here to testify to that.
Thank you Caylee Marie.

I think she practiced all her answers well ahead of time. I think she's nervous about the Xanax (she broke down about that when LE interviewed her the first time, really broke down).
I think she gave some glib answers about what she knew about the Anthony household, and what Casey told her and about what she did and did not know from personal experience and exposure to the Anthony family.

Hi OG! I've been missing you.
I have to agree with your remarks about Annie. It is ludicrous to think that Casey and Annie were together for that many hours and Annie told Casey she didn't want to hear any details! The way Casey talks and talks? Annie wouldn't have been able to get a word in edgewise if Casey really wanted to tell her anything.
I think there's something more going on with the Xanax thing too.
Hi sweetie Pooh, I've missed you too!
I just had to take some days off.
I know, I think Annie probably heard more than she wanted to. I also found it interesting when she said Casey wouldn't sit by the window and didn't want her to sit by the window either. Come on, if you with someone accused of murdering her daughter, out on bail and that person said something like that to you, wouldn't you ask them why? When I look at that whole depo and think of Annie's interviews with LE, I see a young woman who knows more than she wants to know, is afraid of any reprucussions that may come and was very well coached by a very good attorney.

So what you are trying to say is that in "Anthony Land" that is not a lie but a simple mis-truth ....
I think that at the very beginning that G wanted to come clean with what happened, maybe being with the "boys" of LE brought back memories from when he was a deputy, and not under Cindy's thumb.
Didn't he sneak out to talk to the FBI, or was it OC?
I wonder if LE could have somehow kept G separated from C for a few days....if that would have happened, would things be different now?

Eagle, I appreciate that, but this was a revelation to me: George said "EVEN THE PIZZA smelled like (insert decomp)."
So they made the bad smell that the pizza took on (from decomposing body) the "cause" of creating the rest of the smell in the car.
Of course it wasn't. The point is that everything in the car smelled like decomp--including the pizza that now is confirmed, since George was talking about it early--and it was the perfect excuse to say that "that smell" (whatever it was) came from the pizza, and went to everything else.
I'm not saying I believe it or think it possible. I'm saying they latched onto it as the excuse for the smell (in other words, they are not acknowledging that the dead body smell affected the pizza, but "whatever" smell that very dead pizza made, then infested the rest of the car--and oh well, yeah, it just happened to smell like a dead body). I think the pizza did take on the smell of decomp, and then C&G ran with that as the cause--rather than the pizza simply being a victim of acquiring the same dead body smell that everthing else in the car acquired.

Dick, what George said in that little snippet (will have to go upthread to find it) was EVEN THE PIZZA had that "Unforgettable smell". So he was saying, there was some pizza in the car, and EVEN THE PIZZA smelled like decomp.
So it did. I suspect everything in that car reeked of decomp.
But C&G focused on the pizza "causing" the odor (which we know is not the case) as part of their denial.
This makes sense to me. NOT that the pizza caused the smell, but that the pizza had taken on the decomp smell, and C&G found it easier to say the "smell" was emanating from the pizza.
They could just as easily have said it was emanating from Casey's pants that they washed, LOL, but that wouldn't have fed their denial as well.
Does this make sense?
Makes sense, only until you consider the source - C&G. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck - why, it's a duck. As soon as they said "dead body smell", they signed Casey's death warrant. They can transfer that smell to anything else in the car, but they can't remove those initial first statements. I'm sure the whole car smelled horrible. Makes me wonder how long, how many hours she was decomposing in the car.

IMO

I think she's covering up a lot.
Annie didn't have anything to do with the actual murder, but after speaking with a fellow sleuth-friend tonight on the phone, I'm convinced more and more that she's hiding something huge, that is indirectly related to Caylee's death. If I calculate right, Ricardo Morales said that he had heard the name Zanny all the time he was dating.
Casey was living on the edge, with the tension at home with her mother, as a young mother. You can bet she took Xanax to take the edge off, and it came from her best friend Annie. Remember - she thought she was losing it at one time? Xanax to the rescue. Cindy and George - we know they were lying about knowing a Zanny. George had never heard of her, Caylee never mentioned her. Cindy got her friends together to try and figure out who the hell Zenaida was.
Zannie is Annie. She should have coughed that information up pronto, as soon as she heard the name Zanny. I hope they ask her, "Have you ever been referred to as Zanny?"

OK, you have hit on it again. Yes, Casey went to Annie saying she thought she needed to be hospitalized. Really? She was telling Annie she needed some pills--and she knew to go to Annie to get them.
Some many years back, I had spinal surgery and had some strong meds prescribed, including Soma. I had a friend/acquaintance who was a recovering alcoholic/drug addict, a guy I knew from church. He called after I got out of the hospital and asked if I was in pain, and what meds I'd been prescribed. When I said Soma, it was so funny almost--he said, I have had such bad headaches, Soma really helps me, if I come over there now, will you give me a Soma?
So you are absolutely right, Dick Tracy, and I'd completely missed this up til now. Casey didn't want to check into a hospital. She wanted Annie to give her some Xanax because she knew Annie had Xanax as a regular feature.
Hellooooooo.
Yes, Annie has some involvement in this that is trying to be hidden by the Ants. Unfortunately that also means they knew a lot more than they've let on that they knew, about what really happened, if they worked so hard to get Annie over to Hopespring for a sleep-over.
Did they have to get permission from the court for Annie to stay over? Casey was under house arrest, right? So there must have been some request procedure/permission for Annie to be there? I'm just guessing about this.

I do not think that she is being 100 percent truthful, and if get the feeling that she is afraid of something.......who knows what bs c&g may have told her......."the kidnappers are watching us, and now they will be watching you" or something along those lines.....
moo jmo
Great thinking about AD being scared chitless about said Xanex adair. And let us not forget that she said Casey came to her saying she felt like she was having a breakdown. I can see this BF of Casey who had access to Xanex saying 'here honey, let me give you something to help you calm down', then realizing after Caylee's death that what she gave Casey may have been used on Caylee freaking out.
Casey and her 'I feel like I'm having a breakdown' may have been a ploy all along just to score some Xanex from AD.
I know if I had given a friend some Xanex thinking that I was helping them....I wouldn't tho, I'm too selfish with mine , and found out later that my friend had killed her daughter by means unknown and all these things about Xanex from OG were floating around, I'd be freaking out too.
But, I, being who I am, would be telling LE about it. Of course, I'm not in my 20's anymore and know better than to lie even if I were going to be embarrassed or ashamed by something I thought I was just doing to help a friend thru a hard time.

Behind the scenes here at the daily Caylee Marie Anthony InSession Forum, there is a huge classified and confidential network of information flowing back and forth, back and forth of around x users (sorry, that number is classified) that are in the know.
