Did anyone see Whoopi Goldberg rip into Glen Beck on The View yesterday? I think Glen has really lost it.

I saw it on Keith Olbermann last night.
Talk about being busted for lying. Beck was emabarrassed thoroughly.
And I heard on KO tonight that Beck went back TODAY on his show and lied some more.
Unreal.

The only times I have watched the View is when Bill OReilly showed up (Whoopie was a no show that day), John McCAin (Whoopie could not even look him in the eye) or maybe Whoopie was a no show for McCain and would not look OReilly in the eye and Michelle Obama. I am a huge fan of Whoopie but not remotely interested in the View or their "Views". Adore Glenn Beck and do listen to his views. As long as you understand that (he says) he is a commentator; not a reporter and doesn't investigate the stuff he says. Which means that (as Whoopee said) it must be OK if he is a "lying sack of s**t".
So if HE agrees that you can't trust hat he says why would one bother listening to him? I guess it could be entertaining - but truth is just not even a concern to him. I don't think he'll be around long. He's not all that entertaining.

You must have missed Whoopie on the BOR show.
She let him know right away that she was Pro Choice, and it was downhill for O'Reilly from then on.
This was probably the first time BOR could not bully his guest. He was the one who could not get a word in edgewise. I don't think she will be invited back anymore. [JMHO]

It's obvious he doesn't tell the truth, and sadly, it's even more obvious that the people who like him don't care that he's dishonest.
I used to watch Glen Beck when he had his previous show. ( I can't recall which network it was on). I didn't always agree with him, but I did enjoy some of the shows. He had various guests and some interesting dialogue. After awhile I started noticing that he did got a lot of facts wrong. It didn't involve things that were just his opinion, but things he presented as fact. I was turned off and gradually stopped watching. Then the show was canceled. There is a thread somewhere on this board of me complaining about his problem getting the facts straight.
I was surprised to see him with a new show. I thought that perhaps he had done a turn around, only to find , so he thinks he can.
He needs to take a long vacation, get his act together and try again down the road.

I don't agree that Glenn is dishonest. A lot of his stuff is his own opinion pieces so how can that be dishonest? Come on! I don't have a problem with opinions: like to hear opposing points of view. But if you listen to Glenn you know that he states "facts"........ and then goes on to say what his opinion is.
Well if you are starting with a "fact" - that (as he said) he has not checked, or even knows is not true - then it is dishonest before you even start with the opinions, isn't it?

I read Beck's book and found a lot of it amusing although I didn't agree with some of it. It was basically a humor book, with some right wing politics throw in.
I find his show unwatchable though. He's not funny. He is constantly twisting the facts and embellishing things, and yes, I've heard things I know just aren't true. His delivery is just annoying. I think what he really wanted was to be a preacher.

LOL I thought speaking the truth was a requirement for a preacher too. I can see why some people might enjoy him if twisting the truth is OK for the sake of entertainment. Wish he didn't try so hard to be taken seriously: that is annoying!
Guess I have a hang-up about commentators playing fast and loose with the truth - and he is so unabashed about it. He's got that smug Drew Peterson smirk, even (or maybe even especially) when he is caught in a lie. Oh well - truth vs lies = chococate vs strawberry??? At least we can see what his audience's values are.

[JMHO] IMO whoopie is a MASTER at handling people..same when she went on with Hannity. she refuses to mock, to call names, keeps her voice low and gentle, reaches out and touches him. its just brilliant in terms of...working the other person. if that other person..whomever they are, then yells, blusters or does things we all see on ALL pundit shows..grandstanding...she wins simply by appearing the reasonable one.

I thought it was a very good session between the two of them. I thought Whoopie had been on his show in the past.

Beck just got owned. If everyone he's lied on was willing to step up, He'd be out of a job, even the comedy tour gig:thumbup:
The reporter that origninally posted the piece just 'owned' Whoopi. Her and Babrbara lied through their teeth so they wouldn't have to acknowledge that they were the 'media' elite and expected to be treated as such by us 'common' folk. That was the crux of the whole matter regarding the seats.
Do some research; you'll find the real liar.
Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

Ahhhh, but Amtrak has now confirmed that ABC/Barbara Walters PR rep requested and received a plice escort and reserved seats.
LOL!

I have little respect for Whoopie. When the original stimulus check was going out during Bush's admin, she spent 15 minutes complaining that she wasn't getting one. She thought every American should get one no matter how much they make and based on the HUGE amount of taxes she paid each year, she had every right to the stimulus.
I can't help but wonder how she feels now that her ******* is going to raise taxes on her income group.
Oops, don't know why that word got bleeped. Maybe because it is religious?? Mess iah.
